ZZZZZZZ! Just a quick note!
Hi! It's been a few days. It's really late for me...who was awakened at 3 AM by the rosebud pictured above...so I won't be typing much. I made this layout tonight for a crop I attended. The template is by Victoria Feemster and the kit is Mod Club by Saskia Bokkers (one of my top three fave designers!). Anyway, back to the rosebud. I have the most wonderful hubby. He got up and fed her and played with her until she was ready to go back to sleep...and he's playing with her now. Yes, the little one had a long nap early this evening to make up for her 3 AM romp, and so now...yes, you guessed it...she is up and ready to roll at 10 o'clock! It's my bedtime, though! I usually get up by 5 AM each morning, so I'm curled up in bed drowsing to a DVD by 10:30 most nights. I've been catching up on Frasier, but I have a few pet peeves about those DVD sets - at least the ones I'm watching now.
#1) No Subtitles! We live very close to a bahnhof (train station), so we get frequent loud rumblings passing by the house. This is horrible for TV watching. But, at least with subtitles you can read what the people are saying. I know most US TVs come with closed captioning, but our TVs here dont' have that. So, no subtitles means I have to press pause or rewind to get the whole story. I really hate that.
#2) No Play All feature! Okay, so I am lazy. Okay, so I usually watch TV right before I fall asleep. Okay, so I want my TV to keep broadcasting well past the time I actually fall asleep. If the DVD plays only one episode at a time, this kinda gets messed up! Even when I am watching TV on the weekend, I hate having to scroll through two or three menu screens for each episode - Star Trek DVDs are famous for this!
I have other DVD pet peeves, but I shall save them for another time. It's time for sleepy bo-bos (an obscure Black Adder reference - cheers to Rowan Atkinson!). I'll try to post again soon, and maybe I'll have a freebie for you soon.
The More Just Deserts freebie and the Victoria II Alpha freebie won't be up much longer so get them soon!

What's On TV?
Good morning!
Yesterday was a fun day. We took our students to Mainz, home of Guttenberg and his moveable type press. It was a great trip! The weather was perfect, the kids were good (mostly), and I was able to pay homage to an invention that has literally changed the world. I don't read as much as I used to or as much as I would like. I am currently re-reading Margaret George's The Autobiography of Henry VIII - one of my very favorite books! But, even though I have read it numerous times, it is a little slow going this time. But, that is probably because I am trying to read it during the students' silent reading time - and they are usually not totally silent. So, I have lots of shhhhhhhh-shing to do! I hope to have it finished soon. I'm not sure what my next book will be...I think I might try to find out what books by Stephen King I have unread on my shelf. Which brings me to the reason for my blog title today...
I am watching Season 4 of The Dead Zone on DVD. It is a sci-fi series based on the King novel of the same name. It stars Anthony Michael Hall (who aged pretty well, actually - so far from the geeky kid in 16 Candles). It is a pretty good show. Just enough "what will happen next?" to keep me interested, but not so much that I am going crazy trying to figure stuff out. But, my favorite part of the show is Sean Patrick Flanery. I've had a little crush on him since his Young Indiana Jones Chronicles days. His character in TDZ is so charmingly sneaky, so deliciously crooked...and just a lilt of a Southern accent...my, oh, my! I really hope YIJC comes to DVD soon!

A Freebie for You!
11/09/06 - Thank you for your interest in my freebies, but this link has been disabled. Check back soon for more freebies!
As promised, here is a freebie for you. It is a few things that I could not fit into the November PTP kit, and it wasn't enough to make a whole kit by itself either.
I am trying something new with the downloads. The folder has a password. It is winter3 ...just like that...all lowercase and no spaces. I am going to be removing some of the older files in a few days, so if you like any of the early freebies, you might want to get them before Friday 20 October.

It's been a while...
Well, I have been really busy this week. I have a couple of new kits in the Deco-Pages store -- matching boy and girl kits called Little Royal. There are lots of fun things to use for pages of your "royal darlings" or any fun kid layouts. You can find Little Royal: Girl HERE and Little Royal: Boy HERE. Many thanks to Atomic Cupcake and Scrap Girls for tools that helped me with these kits!
It is also PTP kit time. The designers are Deco-Pages are working hard to get another fabulous kit ready for our members. What I have seen so far is wonderful! If you are a Club Deco member, you are in for such a great kit...and if you aren't a member...WHY NOT??!?!?! LOL. Find out about this super scrapbook club HERE.
I will be back later with a freebie for you!

I Want a Fancy Blog!
I have been looking at some blogs (Traci Sims and Rina Kroes as well as SkyeScrapz), and they are all so nice and stylish. As much as I appreciate the free template I am using...it's just not really what I want, so I hope to change the look of my blog soon. I did make a slide show, but I want it over on the right side along with some other stuff. I'm not sure if I should be playing around with the html, though. I know just enough of that to really make a mess. So, I'm sure this weekend I'll be searching for blogging for the new-to-blogging websites.
I also hope to get a freebie or two to you very soon!

It's Tuesday!
The only thing I really like about Tuesday is that it is not Monday, so there is one less morning for the work week. I am not a morning person. I really do not enjoy getting up at 5 AM. And, it really doesn't have much to do with sleep or how early I go to bed. I just dislike being up while everyone else is still asleep. I do enjoy the quiet, though! I sometimes get some quality thinking done...but usually I'm just waiting for the rest of the household to get up. And, if they don't, I have to be the one to get them up...so I am not a favorite sight in the morning!
Now that the mad rush of getting the October things ready is over, it is time to concentrate on some new things. I am working on a kit called More just Desserts that will work with the Color Challenge kits, Just Desserts. The kit names come from the colors I chose...my favorite dessert flavors. If it is raspberry, strawberry, chocolate or coffee-flavored, I probably like it (maybe too much)! This kit is already pushing into the 250 MB range, so I may have to make some decisions about what goes in it, or break it into smaller kits. I am also continuing the Basics series with upcoming kits in brown and pink (or whatever color I feel like working with - LOL). I'm pretty sure brown will be next. I think it would be a great kit to have for the fall season. It would pair nicely with Basics: Orange that has already been released.
Helen has tagged me! I am supposed to write 5 weird things about myself and then tag 5 people. Well, I think I can come up with a list of 5 weird things, but I am not sure about tagging. I still haven't tagged anyone from the first time. So, I think I will save all of that for another post sometime soon.
I hope to have a new freebie up this week. I hope you have a great day. I am one day closer to a three-day weekend...LOL.

I've Been Tagged...Uh-oh
I've been tagged...by Carol (Buddha Babe)! I'm supposed to list 7 songs I'm really into right now...can you say it with me? Help!!!! I am then supposed to tag 7 other people. I can only do the first part. I don't actually know 7 other people that have a blog - LOL. And, most of the ones I do know have already been tagged! I'm sure there is a rule somewhere about tagging strangers...there has to be - LOL.
Well, here are the rules directly from Carol's blog:
"List seven songs you are into right now. No matter what the genre, whether or not they have words, or even if they’re not any good, but they must be songs you’re really enjoying now. Post these instructions in your LiveJournal/blog along with your seven songs. Then tag seven other people to see what they’re listening to."
...okay, what am I into right now? When did I last voluntarily listen to music..hmmmm?
1. "Beyond the Sea" by Royal Crown Revue
2. "Don't Speak" by No Doubt
3. "She's So High" by Tal Bachman
4. "Flood" by Jars of Clay
5. "How to Dream" by Sam Phillips
6. "Far Away" by Nickleback
7. "Clocks" by Coldplay
And, honorary #8, the theme to SpongeBob SquarePants - because in my house you can't get away from it - EVER!
Ummmm, I guess I should go tag some people now....I'll post again with that list as soon as I get it.

Deco-Pages Club!!!!
Okay, this is a little bit of an advertisement, and as a designer at Deco-Pages, I might be accused of bias, BUT even if I weren't a designer, I would be telling you...this is a great deal!
Deco-Pages.com has a new club. It's SO new, we are having a contest to name it! Get all the details about that here.
Your membership includes a fabulous MEGA kit every month, a 10% coupon good off anything in the Deco-Pages store for the time of your membership, lots of Club Exclusive FREEBIES, and other great stuff just for members! If you join during September the annual membeship cost is only $15.00. Starting 1 October, it goes to $20.00 (still a fab deal). A year's worth of MEGA kits and SO MUCH MORE!!! If you bought 12 regular size kits, you would spend at least $48.00 and probably a lot more.
Above is my portion of the September Member kit.
And, here is a layout I made with one of the Quick Pages in the kit:
This is my son, who is ALWAYS drawing something. For school we have to buy extra notebooks and paper so he has enough to do his actual school work. Any piece of paper in our house is fair game - LOL!
I'll be back later with a sneak peek of the October Color Challenge stuff I'm working on for Deco-Pages. The starter kit is FREE for members (just another cool perk for joining!).
Check out this month's challenge here for more information....Dana's kits for September are fab!!!!

Grrrrrrr - Uploading Problems
Well, I wanted to share some freebies, but I am fighting with an uploading site (well, not really fighting). I cannot get the files to upload. I wanted to share them in a way that almost everyone could get them...RapidShare causes problems for some, and there are others that have bugs and still others that limit downloads. So, it looks like we may not have freebies for a bit. I guess I'll just share some layouts I've made and show you my kits until then.
I hadn't wanted to turn this into a big advertisement page.....but needs must when technology bites you on the hand - LOL!
Have a great day! I'll be back later with something...I hope!

Long Absence
Well, as I figured it has been a while since I posted anything...over a month, in fact. School has been very busy, and I have been creating some new kits and things for Deco-Pages members. I will be doing the October Color Challenge, so I've been trying to put together some really fabulous stuff for all who participate.
The school year is basically in full swing. It's a little rough around the edges...kids are still learning their schedules and how to handle those big binders and planners. But, I have to admit, I'm not exactly having a smooth transition myself. It has been a busy summer, and fall is not looking any more tranquil - LOL.
I feel like posting a Freebie or two...so I guess I will. Be on the lookout for them....COMING SOON!
Now, if anyone actually reads this...well, that would be a shock...but, please feel free to tell anyone to come and get the FREEBIES!!!

I have a new kit!
Well, it's official...I have a kit for sale, so I must be a designer - LOL!
It is called Cotton Candy, and I am fairly happy with it. I don't usually go for pastels, but I like the way these colors work together. This kit has many possibilities with lots of papers (15) and elements (26)...plus 6 (yes, that's right) alphas.
There is also a freebie.
The kit and freebie are available exclusively at Deco-Pages.
I hope like them, and please leave me a comment or two. I'd love to hear what kinds of kits you would like to see!
That's all for now.

Finally!
Well, I've finally done it! I now have a blog! SO much has been happening that I thought having some place to write it all down would be helpful. Of course, this may turn out like a lot of other things...forgotten.
I am now a digital scrap designer!!!! Dabbling has turned into something...I hope! I am on the Design Team at Deco-Pages.com. I hope to have some kits up by early next week.
The kids are ready for school to start (ahhhh, youth), and I am not! It looks like it will another large class this year, so it will be a busy nine months.
