Our community puts on a fun little parade every 24th of July to celebrate pioneer day. We love it because it comes right down our street. We just save our front lawn and invite friends and family to come over and watch. This year we had over 40 people. Fun!

Grandma Kathy & Grandpa Steve came this year!
We loved celebrating with them. They even braved the rain and watched the fireworks with us later that night. Gpa Steve treated all the girls to a cool light-up sword. They girls LOVED them.
Grandpa Steve & Owen each with their favorite drink! :)
Megan came with her 2 cute boys.
The Drubster with Winston
This picture makes me laugh out loud every time I look at it.
Liv was pretty shy gathering candy, but walked away with a bag full.
The fire truck stopped right in front of us and got everyone and everything wet!
{I am not sure that I loved that part.}
Owen loved the parade and wanted more when it was over.

Ryan Rides in the Rodeo!

Yes, it is true. Ryan was in a real rodeo. He lost a bet and promised his Kamas Key Bank branch that he would "hide race" in the rodeo.

But first.....
The Kamas parade!

The girls were lucky enough to ride on the Key Bank "float."
They learned it was just as fun to throw candy than to catch it.

Owen and I watched on the sidelines.
I tried to gather as much candy as I could with Owen.
The first piece of candy that was thrown to Owen, he threw it back.
By the end, he got the hang of it.
After the parade, it was rodeo time!
The Kamas rodeo was awesome. It was small but so much fun.
Waiting patiently for Ry to jump in the arena.
I was pretty nervous and anxious, unsure of what it would really be like for him.
Ryan had amazing support from our friends from Key.
Ryan with his buddy, Tyler.
Teagan and Dru
Some of the Key team that came to support Ryan.
Owen played with the rocks pretty much the whole time. Perfect.
Watching all the action.

Some cool shots of the brave (crazy) cowboys.

They had a fun event called "Wild Cow Milking."
One woman broke her nose and a man broke his eye socket.
By this time, my stomach was in knots for Ryan.
Paul is the manager at the Kamas branch and rode the horse that Ryan was pulled behind.
This is Heidi, who was #1 in sales last year......the reason Ryan entered the rodeo.
No more bets for Ryan.
A little shot with some rodeo royalty.
Here is Ryan in the arena.
After watching the first few hide riders I realized it wasn't that dangerous. My new concern was for Ryan to grab on and hold on. {It was embarrassing for those who did not}

When they called his name he walked to the barrel waiting for Paul to ride in dragging a cowhide behind him. Ryan's job was to jump on when he came around that barrel and then get dragged at full pace to the end of the arena.
Well, not only did Ryan jump on and hold on, he came in 3rd place!
The other's who came in ahead of him were light-weight KIDS!

Ryan holding on like a champ.
The aftermath: dirt EVERYWHERE!
I am so proud of my cowboy!

Flaming Gorge

You know you have had a fun time when you kids beg and beg to stay and never go home. Our family of mostly girls really loves to camp. We don't mind getting dirty, cold and sleeping outdoors. We spent the weekend camping with the Martin's at Flaming Gorge and had a great time!

Owen loved the dirt, climbing in and out of chairs and tripping over all the rocks.
He loved hanging out with Gma Martin.
We played frisbee.
I loved any second Owen would stay still in my arms.
He loved Gpa Martin too.
Gma Martin brought a cool new craft for the girls.
We made super cute bracelets and necklaces out of old t-shirts.
We saw a bunch of antelope.
(Rylie kept calling them cantaloupe)
We loved hanging around the campfire.
Roasting marshmallows was a fav.
We even roasted starbursts.
Ry and Al
Gpa and Rylie
We had some problems with the boat and weren't able to go boating , which was a bummer. We decided to drive to Ashley National Forrest which ended up being so beautiful and really fun!
We had a picnic by the lake.
Liv ate a bunch of cherries which ended up all over her face.
Did you know that whatever Liv is eating, a piece ALWAYS ends up on her face? It may be funny now (actually hilarious) but when the dating years come, we may have to nip that habit.
Cute Uncle Alex and Rylie by the lake.
I love how Rylie has one foot up. Ha ha!
Checking out all the baby fish that Ryan caught.
On the way back to our campsite we ran into a bunch of sheep. Gross. I am so glad we were in the car.
The beautiful lake.
We also taught the girls how to play Cat's Cradle. They loved it and played it with anyone willing.
Sweet Aunt Elisabeth let Rylie play with her hair.
Owen helping make the tinfoil dinners.
Owen falling asleep.
On the way to Flaming Gorge Owen threw up.
(apparently this is now a tradition for Owen when in the car for more than an hour)
Poor kid.
I get nervous on long drives and ask Ryan several times if he is sleepy.
Without fail, he pulls this look. :)
Cute Olivia busy being cute.
Little O found the Oreos!

Can't wait for next year.
