Bear Lake

We went to Bear Lake with Grandma and Grandpa Martin last weekend.
We had such a great time boating, eating, chatting, golfing, playing tennis, playing games
 and visiting with old friends.

The girls had so much fun driving Grandpa's boat.

 Boating can be exhausting!

The water was freezing but so blue and beautiful!

The water was so cold we had to pay the girls to jump in.
Rylie took too long so Ryan gave her a little push.

Rylie was not too happy about that.

We stayed in a home next to the home/cabin of Ryan's best friend growing up.
It was fun to catch up with the Strongs.  They are Ryan's second family.
They happened to be filling in a sand box that weekend so we thought we would join in and help.

I am glad we did because the kids played in it all weekend.
These are Jesse and Brittany's 3 cute kids.  They all got along SO well.
It was sad when they had to say goodbye.

They had an awesome tree swing we couldn't get enough of.

Rylie's little buddy.

Thank you G&G Martin for a fun time in beautiful Bear Lake!

Father's Day!

My kids are pretty darn lucky to have Ryan as their dad.
He is so patient,so fun and so involved.
They LOVE their dad!

My kids are also lucky to have these two amazing Grandpas.
They both love to tease, work hard and are super supportive.

Grandma Jim!

Grandpa Steve!

This is the place to be

We went to This Is The Place Heritage Park.  We love this place.  It was so fun to go with Grandma and the cousins.  They had fun exploring and learning about the pioneers.

I am a weirdo and had to get a picture with Big Buddha who is a local news reporter.

Book Club

Olivia and I hosted book club in May.  We chose to read the Mercy Watson series by Kate Dicamillo instead of just one book.  The series is easy, silly and really fun.
Mercy is a pig so we did a lot of "pig stuff."

The girls tried to make as many words as they could out of the name Mercy Watson.

They cut out their own Mercy and made word bubbles about him.

The finished product.

Mercy loves toast with a great deal of butter so they practiced putting butter on their toast.
{I cut out felt bread and butter.}

I knew we had to serve buttered toast so I brought in the EXPERT.  My mom!
{Liv insisted that she be the one who made the toast.}
We went through 2 loafs of bread and a stick and a half of butter!

The girls wrote down the directions for buttered toast.

My mom brought a sugar and cinnamon shaker and added her own special touch.
The girls LOVED it!!!  Thanks mom!

We also played pass the pig, Mercy Watson style and had a fabulous discussion of the series.
We love book club!
