Camano Sunset

It was such a beautiful evening I just had to go to the park & watch the sunset. I was hoping for a few clouds & a little more color. Took the first one as soon as I got out of the car.

The very last peek a few minutes later.

I see this bunny often. I'm usually not fast enough to get his picture.

One of the many "Flintstone " forts.

If you go be prepared to be carried away by the mosquitos. They were awful!

I have been quilting away this week. I'll have a big one to show you soon.

Keeping my fingers crossed for no more thunderstorms. The last 2 days have been crazy!

Save The Date- Quilts on the Beach

Quilts on the Beach #3

The Cama Beach Quilters will hold their third open-air quilt show on the beach at Cama Beach State Park at 1880 S. West Camano Drive. from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 28, rain or shine.  This year’s show will feature a new group of 50 of the more than 160 quilts the group has made since 2002 for the cabins at the park.  In addition to the bed-size quilts, most of which will be for sale, there will be a number of small quilts made by group members.  Proceeds from these sales will be used to professionally quilt the new bed-size tops that have been made by the group in the past year.  Another new feature this year will be a “studio sale” of quilt-related items and cookbooks in the Cama Center.  Also in the Cama Center there will be quilt-related activities for all ages, including some sewing of quilt blocks, flower pounding, and a bed-turning of antique quilts.  The Cama CafĂ© will also be open during the show for brunch or lunch.  This year’s queen-size raffle quilt, Cama Beach Stars, will be shown and tickets will be available.  All proceeds from this quilt will be used by the Cama Beach Foundation to support educational activities in the Camano state parks.  The show and other events are free, but a Discover Pass (available at the Cama Welcome Center) is required for parking.  Shuttles will be available between the parking lots and the beach.  If you have questions, call Pam at 360-387-4550.

This has been a great show. Car pool with someone. You can always park here, Camano Island Coffee Roasters , or Del Fox (great place to grab a bbq something for lunch). They are both at Terry's Corner, go right at the first stop light on Camano Island.

Outside to enjoy the sunshine today for me. How about you?

Still Here

So where does the time go? You'll see at the end of this post.
First up is a cute Christmas Quilt from Betz.
All the unquilted cream half square triangles are 3d & can be flipped back to make an arch. Had to be careful moving the machine back across the quilt. Just a little bit of holly for that Christmas flair.

This is the annual Spee-ba-da 4th of July raffle quilt. I've done a few for them. Really like how whimsical this one is & appreciate the challenges of piecing blocks from 20 different people. The person who put it all together did a great job. They gave me the pattern with the quilting designs as a jumping off point for the quilting.

Kim & Jennifer brought me this cute circus quilt. Wouldn't you love to get this for a baby quilt?

The picture really shows the quilting.

Here's the reason it's been quiet on blogland lately. The Little Misters are on vacation & staying at Nana's house. We went to Leavenworth one night & down to Cama Beach the next night.  Trust me they are hardly ever this still, but I wouldn't trade it for anything.

The Stanwood -Camano Hero Quilters will be at the Floyd in Stanwood on the 4th with 30 or so American Hero Quilts. We'll be there from 9:30-2.

Better hit the sack. The boys are early risers!

Chicken Little

Here's a special quilt made by Cathy. I'm pretty sure she found the pattern at our favorite California quilt store, The Granary.

I tried a border design that Jenny & Judi use.

Of course Cathy put a barn on the back of her quilt! Too cute!

Did you get out & enjoy the sunshine today? If you live anywhere in Western Washington we'll have a couple more days of this & then the you know what returns.

I will have some beach pictures soon. It was a lovely evening to watch the sunset.
Quilts are calling. Be back soon.

Happy Friday

It's sunny! Love seeing the sunshine today. And I love quilting cheery quilts! This is a great little flower quilt by Norada.

I like making the flowers sing.

Leaves are always good in borders.

Have any fun plans this weekend? The yard is still calling here. But so are a couple movies that came out today. Hmmm, what to do?

Stay tuned for a cute little chick quilt & more from Jennifer & Kim.

Have you seen what Jenny has been up to? A 30 day challenge to finish all of her customer quilts so she can focus on her Quick Curve Ruler. Stop by & say HI here.

Be back soon.

Summer Quilts

Peggy made this lovely summer quilt. Don't you love the pattern & colors? So cheery!

Miss Jennifer worked a long time to get this hexagon quilt done. All Y seams. I always love the colors she picks.

I used the pant Pumeria Gardens.

Obviously this isn't a quilt. Just had to show my tomatoes in the hanging planter. Busy bumble bees in my neighborhood!

Have a couple of quilty get togethers this week. Always good to laugh & quilt with friends.
Hope you have a good week.
Quilts are calling. Be back soon.

Winner, Winner Chicken Dinner!

Got an exciting e-mail form CA customer Janice today. The diamond batik quilt she had me quilt won some ribbons. Woohoo!

Hi Sharon,

Today was the first day of the San Mateo County Fair and I was so shocked to see not 1 but 3 ribbons on the batik diamond quilt you quilted with the pine boughs.  It got a 1st place, a Judge's Choice, and a Mary Whitehead Memorial Award ( Best of Division 620, Amateur Piecing/Professional Quilting).

Thanks again for the beautiful job you did.

Hugs,
Janice

Here's a closeup of the pine bough quilting.

Congratulations Janice!

Better get going so I can catch up on yard work today.
