Christmas JOY and a Sweet Award Too!

Good Morning! Hope you are having a great Sunday! Well, today is Featured Stamper day at SCS, and today's FS is the very talented Joanne(sleepyinseattle)! I chose to case this gorgeous Christmas card. I started with a card base of Regal Rose, layered with Handsome Hunter, and then a piece of DCWV designer paper, which is embossed, scored and sponged. I stamped the letters and then used Rubber Stamp Tapestry peg stamps for the Christmas flowers . I punched out each letter with a circle punch and then cut nestie circles and scallop circles for each letter. I added pretty green ribbon, silver cord, and rhinestone brads to finish the card! Thanks for a beautiful inspiration Joanne! Have a fun day!

I Am With You Always

Here is another card using the new set from Our Daily Bread designs called Jesus. I wanted to make a clean and simple card this time. I really struggle with this type of card. But I have been inspired by so many cards I have seen lately. For this one I used Fabriano watercolor paper. I stamped the sentiment first lining it up with my Stamp-a-ma-jig, then I stamped Jesus' image. I cut the border with Spellbinders Grand Lace border, I added BasicGrey jewels and then ribbon to finish the card. Oh, and I distressed the edges too! That's about as clean and simple as I can get! By the way, I had to hide something here. The first time I stamped, I didn't like the placement so I turned it over. Well, I had the whole card put together when I realized you can see right through this paper! It's so thick I was surprised! So, what I did to hide this, was to add Close to Cocoa layered with more watercolor paper on the inside of the card, under the image and on the side where you would would write a message! I tell you this is one thick card! Oh well, live and learn, right?

Thanks for stopping by, and come again soon!

This is the Day that the Lord has Made!

I have to say I would never have thought to combine these colors had it not been for the color challenge today! It's a fun, retro color combination, I think! I used this week's Midnight Madness sketch, changing it up a bit. This beautiful image and scripture is from Our Daily Bread designs new set called Happy Birthday! Such a fun image to color!! I don't know if you can tell but I used my scor-pal between each scalloped square. I colored the image with copics (C1,E00,E37,E43,E74, G21,R22) to match the SU! colors. I also colored the Hero Arts flowers with the copic R22. I stamped just a partial scripture sentiment, die cut it with the Spellbinders label, and sponged while it was still inside the die. I added pretty Martha Stewart butterflies and silver pearls and a silver brad to complete the card! I'm glad you stopped by! Come back again soon!

Until the End of Time

Today, I want to show you a little gift set I made using the new Our Daily Bread designs set called Jesus. I have to say that ever since I became a Christian, this is one verse, in particular, that has always given me such comfort. No matter what, God is with me always, until the very end of time! WOW!!! That is amazing! Okay, back to the gift set! For the card, I used last week's SCS sketch which was inspired by our very own Silke! And I also used five of the Dare to Get Dirty challenges! I used Holly's color challenge of More Mustard, Real Red, and Bashful Blue. I made my own designer paper for Betty's challenge by stamping the Amazing Grace Hymn (music challenge) and the Grow in Grace dogwood flowers. I sponged the three ink colors randomly over the images. Then for Deborah's texture challenge, I sprayed this with Glimmer Mist! Instant designer paper! I added two Spellbinders die cuts (Becca's challenge), threaded with ribbon, to fit with the sketch. I stamped the Jesus image once on scratch paper before stamping onto a piece of Whisper White. Then I stamped the verse over Jesus' image in red. I colored the Hero Arts flowers with copic markers to match and sprayed the red flower with more Glimmer Mist. I added pretty red rhinestones here and there to complete the card!

Now for the candle! This technique is so fun and easy!!! I cut a piece of white tissue paper to fit the size of the candle. You want to cut it to go all the way around. Then you stamp the images onto the tissue paper. Using a piece of wax paper to hold the tissue paper down around the candle, carefully use your heat gun to heat the wax paper until you see that it is getting glossy. Carefully do this all the way around until you get the whole thing melted into the candle. Then just embellish as desired! I used red organdy ribbon, red rhinestones, and a piece along the bottom punched with the Martha Stewart Lattice border punch. Here is a link to a tutorial at SCS showing you better how to do the candles! And here are pictures of the other sides of my candle.

I hope you have enjoyed your visit today and thanks for stopping by!

Midnight Madness and Inspirational Aprons!

Well, I'm behind in getting this posted! This is for last week's Midnight Madness sketch! I also was inspired by one of the pretty aprons in Saturday's Inspiration challenge. I stamped the image in red in a pattern. Then I embossed it with a Cuttlebug embossing folder. The bottom border is done with a Spellbinders Piercabilities die. I did the curve at the top of the tag with a Spellbinders Circle die. I used the rock and roll technique with Real Red and Chocolate Chip ink for the bird and the sentiment. The bird was stamped again and cut out to layer over the image. Added a pretty button and flower and lots of pretty red rhinestones to complete the card! Thanks for looking! And come back soon!

I used a sentiment from Our Daily Bread designs called Mother Teresa! Haha! I just realized I used the Mother Teresa for Teresa's big day! Anyway, I used Martha's lattice border punch and butterfly punch. I added a little sparkle too!

Our Daily Bread designs August Releases are Here!

It's August 1st and time for two more amazing and beautiful stamp sets from Our Daily Bread designs! Kelley, the owner of ODBD, has come out with a birthday set and that is what I have used here.

This is a picture of the entire set!

For this card, I incorporated 7 of the Dare to Get Dirty challenges at SCS! DTGD09sgtstamper-to use blue and lots of embellishments
DTGD09cindy_haffner-sketch
DTGD09KrystieLee-to use something clear
DTGD09genie1314-to use a tag
DTGD09Becca_Stamps-to use die cuts or punches
DTGD09DeborahLynneS-texture
DTGD09craftycaro-to make a non-traditional size card

I colored the image with copics(C1,C3,B91,B93,B95,B97,YG95). Had to slip in a little green for the leaves! The butterfly was stamped again and cut out to attach over the main image. I used Glossy Accents to cover the flowers and the butterfly for a little clear shine and texture. I used only a portion of one of the sentiments on the little cuttlebug tag. The Not Quite Navy layer is cuttlebugged with the Textile embossing folder and distressed on the edges for more texture. I used Spellbinders dies for the circles and squares. The tag and buttons are threaded with embroidery floss.

Here is a picture of the other set being released today.
It is called, simply, Jesus.

This one is just so beautiful
and I will have another card to show you using this new set
very soon!

And, (drum roll please) we are so happy to have Loretta Lock as our Guest Designer for August and September! Loretta is very talented so I know you will enjoy her ODBD creations!
