February 2011

Pretty much the first part of February was spent making Valentines for everyone. Addy made a list of who she would like to send or make valentines for and it was 32 people long! And she made every single one. We also made "The Love Boat" to collect the valentines that she got in the mail and from friends.

We had a Valentine party with play group but it was so windy that I could not take pictures because I was busy holding down the picnic! We also had a little party for preschool. Addy loved it. We talked about love and we made little Valentines.
Addy, Owen and I made Wes a poster that says 14 reasons why we love dad. I asked Addy 14 times why she loved her daddy and I wrote down exactly what she said. Then we covered up each line with paper, so everyday he could peal another one off and see what Addy and Owen said. We hung it up on the wall right beside his bed so that he could remember to do it each day starting with Feb, 1st.

Wes and I got to go out with some friends from church to an Italian restaurant called BootLeggers. It was super fun to get out and away from the kids!
Owen is so cute and makes the funniest noises. But I love love love to look at him when he is asleep.

Addy loves to go to the park at Town Square Mall..she calls it the indoor park because even though the park is outside, it is inside the outside mall.

This is Addy feeding Momo. Yep, she calls the pink thing her boppy and she even switched sides! I was laughing so hard!! She obviously learned that from me.

Every 2 weeks there is a free Toddler Zumba class that we go to. I know that Addy is not a toddler anymore but it is a really good class for exercise no matter how old you are. It is really cute to see the kids move their arms and try to dance to and follow the music. This is Addy and her friend Theo leaving Zumba. This is her new pose for pictures. Yep! That's my kid!

It is getting harder and harder to take pictures of these kids. Telling them to sit still for 2 seconds is like telling the rain to pause for a minute....it just doesn't happen.

We have a thumb sucker!

Addy calls these her school glasses. I call them something else! She is too funny.

Our new-ish thing is to go out to breakfast on Saturday mornings. We have a lot of fun trying out new places. Addy loves pancakes, eggs and sausage. And the meals are cheap!
Bubbs
My friend told me about this blog about how to make kids food creative and fun. I am not as talented as the lady on the blog but I have made some pretty cute things and Addy just loves them. She will eat it no matter what it is made of, as long as it looks like something.
Palm Tree- Sugar snap peas, pretzel for the trunk, the white is cut up string cheese, pears and peanut butter.
Addy even ate a sandwich! Her first ever! Peanut butter and jelly! it is shaped like a clover, She has green beans and grapes.
More Owen

Chubby little feet
Big eyes
He stole my cup off of the counter. Good thing it was empty!
This is a self portrait of Addy. Can you see it? Red hair and yellow eyes? She is awesome!

California in January

We went to California in January for a wedding of a friend that Wes grew up with. There were married in the LA temple.

We had such a great time. Addy Owen and I hung out on the temple grounds while Wes went in for the ceremony. Addy had a blast at the visitor center and seeing all of the flowers.

We actually stayed on Temple grounds, it was like staying in a missionary apartment but it suited us just fine. We left Vegas on a Thursday night and arrived at the temple at about 11pm. The kids slept right through! Friday morning was the Wedding and the evening was the reception.

We stayed at the temple another night and then Saturday morning we headed to Orange County to see our friends. We met them at the International Pancake house, went to San Juan Capistrano to walk around and have the kids play, then headed to their house to eat lunch and nap and then we headed to the beach for the sunset. We love the BEACH! Ok, who doesn't? Addy did not want to leave. 3month old Owen was under my sweatshirt the whole time, warm and cozy.

After the beach we headed to a bakery called Susie Cakes. DELICIOUS! Then we went to dinner, headed to our friends house to put the kids in bed, eat cake and play games, (Our favorite things to do). Sunday we headed home. We had such a fun trip! Here are a million photos from the trip.

1st half of January.

January went by quick so I I post something quick too. New Years was spent at home with our friends Melanie and Danny. We had a lot of fun and we did nothing at all!
Neither Addy or Owen were up for the fireworks or the stroke of midnight, but it is better that way.
Owen had his first little hair cut. We had to rid him of the mullet. He was really good and just kind of let us do it. No crying or complaining.
Sunday, New Years day we came home from church and Addy was loving on her brother so I needed to take some pictures.
Monday morning we woke up and there was snow covering our ground! We do not know what to do when this happens in Vegas! Addy was unimpressed since we had just come from mountains of snow. It did not last long, by 10am the snow was gone!

Owen would rather be in the bath than in the snow.

We watched the Ohio State game.

Addy rides her bike in the house since it has never been outside. She has a blast.
Owen rolls over so fast I could not get a picture of him!

The week after Christmas.

We decided that the day after Christmas (Sunday) we would go up to Utah for some family, snow, and fun. Unfortunately that meant taking down the Christmas tree on Christmas day. Addy and I were pretty sad but there is always next year and hey, at least it was done.

This is the first year that Addy has actually participated in playing in the snow. She had a blast. She would pick up a clump of snow, (can't make a snowball in Utah powder snow). she would throw it and at the same time yell "snowball fight!!".

We got to go snowmobiling (Addy screamed until we forced her on and then loved it, then fell asleep), Wes went snowboarding, we made snow angels and the best (at least for me) was going sledding. We would start at the top of the driveway and then just cruise on down the street a half mile or more and then get picked up on the snowmobiles. SO much fun!!! It snowed like a beast when we were at the cabin, it was great!

We also would go hot tubing after we were in the cold for awhile. Addy LOVED it!

Owen had no idea what was happening but he loved being with family. Although he was nicknamed Spitty Smitty on the trip because he kept spitting up at the cabin and he rarely ever does that. I blame it in the altitude.
Bubber.

Bundled up for the 19 degree weather.

He even fell asleep in Opas arms.

Oh Yeah and I introduced the Wii bowling to Addy and she housed us! Here is a video of her getting spare.
