Our trip to Utah

Addy and I decided to give Wes some extra studying time and headed up to Utah. We drove straight up to Oma's house on Tuesday and did not have any problems. There was only one little freak out from Addy, because she had hit the DVD player with her foot and it opened and the movie stopped. That was fixed easily just by starting it up again, and she was a happy camper. Addy was very excited to see Oma and her cousins. When we arrived she took a minute to warm up but then she was just running all over and following Riley all over the place, (she even tried to follow him into the bathroom a few times). That night was a little rough sleeping for Addy and would wake up every half hour and say "Dada? Riley? Aidan? Mo? Mama?" each time.

Wednesday we met a few friends over at the Kangaroo Zoo to jump and play. Aidan and Riley had a blast and Addy loved seeing her friends. I liked seeing my friends too!
Addy and Jane 8 hours apart and Bff's We even caught them holding hands!

Roman Forbes up to bat!

Later that evening Addy and I had dinner with some friends and man they make some good ribs! Addy got dirty and we had to clean her up before we left!

Thursday was every kids dream day and I think that Oma and I are crazy for doing it all.
10am: The morning started with going to Thanksgiving Point's the farm, and seeing the animals. There was a Shetland pony colt and a calf that were cutest things ever. Addy loved feeding the animals and thought it was funny when they would lick her. She also took a pony ride.

11:30am We headed over to Thanksgiving point Children's Garden to play on the Noah's arch water exhibit. The kids got changed in the Van and then had a great time splashing and stomping in the water.

12:30pm We wanted some lunch and so we headed to Chucke Cheese to eat and play. The kids were so excited to go. Addy feel asleep on the way there and slept for awhile during lunch. She woke up just in time to eat a little and play like crazy. Her favorite things to play were the pony Merry-go-round, (I think she rode it about 15 times), she also like this little car that would move around and she could drive it, she like to walk up the Skee ball, she like to throw ping pong balls in a bucket for some tickets. Aidan and Riley loved anything and everything and got about a million ticket that I was holding in my pocket. At the end each kid got about 3 prizes with the tickets. We were all tired by this point!

3:30-4pm we got home and Addy kept saying "Swimming, my turn!" So we all put our suits on and went swimming for about an hour, went back inside, got cleaned up and ate Pancakes and sausage for dinner.
When Addy and I came upstairs from getting ready Oma said she had to run an errand and left. We all thought that was strange but when she came home she had a beautiful vase of flowers that Wes had purchased for me because it was our 5 year anniversary!! The store lost the order and didn't deliver it, Wes called his mom to find out if I had gotten it and he asked her to go get it! I was very surprised and Happy that I have such a wonderful husband.
That same day we had 2 offers on our property and had to chose who we wanted to buy it. So our home is now under contract!!!!Phew!
Friday morning we went to the Dino Museum at Thanksgiving Point. It was awesome! They we celebrating the Museum's birthday and had really fun things to do. We had a scavenger hunt, we had to look for hats, whips, telescopes, and spears. It made it really fun to be there looking for new things. For finding everything the boy's got a real shark tooth! We also participated in the birthday party. Riley got to go fishing for candy, all the kids got a dino balloon, AND and sweet tattoo. Aidan was first and he got a Stegosaurus on his face, Addy was next and she picked out a Giraffe tattoo and we got it on her leg, Riley was last and he got an awesome T-Rex on his arm!
After the Museum we went over to the restaurant and met grandma and grandpa Scott for some lunch.

After lunch we went home and Addy and I ventured off to go home. It was sad to leave! Addy still asks for her cousins everyday! We also made a quick stop to see our friends brand new adorable baby!
We decided to stay in Beaver with our friends since we had not seen them for a long time . Addy slept the whole way there (2 hours) and woke up and was excited to have different friends to play with. We had a yummy dinner and then went on a walk. After the walk we sat in the driveway and let the kids play on little scooters and then it was bath time.
Roman and Addy were so cute. They were splashing each other and having a blast. We couldn't help but to take pictures of them.

Addy had an awful time sleeping in a new place and would not go to bed without me holding her and sleeping in bed with me. AHHH! The next morning we got up early , as always, waited for everyone else to wake up, went to the park, went out to lunch and then we headed back to Hot Vegas.Addy again slept the whole time, which was nice but boring for me. We made it home safely and loved seeing Wes!

The 4th of July.

We were so excited to have our friends the Popes come down from Provo to visit us for the fourth. They stayed about 10 minutes away from us in a Casino Resort called Sun Coast. Friday morning Addy and I were so excited to see them, we went over to to the hotel and went swimming in the pool with Kira and Kylee. The pool area was super nice with grass (you don't see that much here), a snack bar and some music. It was not very crowded and it was nice to relax and talk with a friend. Addy was busy swimming all over and trying to keep her toys away from Kylee and some other little girl that really wanted to play with them. Addy is not much of a share-er unless she is warmed up to you and she shares what she wants to share. Kylee was using Addy's Yacht style raft to float around in and it was so relaxing for her she almost fell asleep. Addy noticed that it was her raft and wanted a turn even though she hasn't used it in over a year. What can you do? She took her turn and then it was time to dry off and go back up to the room.

Up in the room Addy was very protective of her stroller and was mad that Kylee was using it to stand up and crawl on so she got up in it and held her post. By the end though she was feeding Kylee some gold fish and kept pushing them in her mouth, even if she wasn't ready.

We left to get ready for the day and so that Addy could nap and Kylee could nap. That evening we went to Fashion Show Mall to eat a Maggiano's (recommended by friends). It was really good Italian food. We ate lots of it. An accordion player came around and played music for us. Addy was dancing away until the guy paid attention to her and then she turned shy.

The next morning Kira, the girls and I went to the Summerlin parade. It was really hot out but I really wanted Addy to see a parade and get some candy. I remember always going to a parade when I was little and I wanted Addy to be as excited as I was. I made the girls some festive necklaces made from foam blue stars and red straws and some pom poms made out of shredded target bags. I think Kylee liked her necklace the best! Addy liked her pom pom until she got a candy sucker, then it was bye bye to all of my hard work. The candy sucker was the only candy that they had at the parade. I was pretty disappointed about that but Addy loved seeing the huge balloons and floats. We stayed about an hour and were done sweating to death.

We came back to my house and went swimming and the Husbands finally joined us. The rest of the day we just hung out and relaxed. The husbands goals for the day were to sit, nap and eat frozen yogurt. We did just that. Lunch came around and we decided to just go to Yogurtland and get deliciousness. That night we went out to eat instead of BBQing. What a great idea that was. No one was there and it was nice and relaxing. We went to Yard House and ate the best food.
That night we found out the the Casino right by us was putting on a show so about 20 minutes before they started we ventured out to find a spot to sit. We found a great spot on the side walk, sat and watched, took a 30 sec walk to the car when it was over and drove 10 minutes home. Addy fell asleep before it started and did not wake up the whole time!

The next morning the Popes headed off to Provo. We met them before church to say Good-bye. It was sad to see them go! Addy was having a rough morning and only wanted to wear certain clothes. She had on a pink diaper cover, her princess pajama shirt and her polka dot jacket. We could not get it off of her for anything. Finally it was time to drive around before church, so Addy could nap and we somehow got her dress on her but she cried until I put her PJ shirt on over it.
On our drive we went up Red Rock Canyon. We had never been before and it was very beautiful. There was a little town that we drove through, they had a sign that said "Population low, Elevation High, Burrows ?". We laughed and thought they were being funny about the burrows but then we saw a play ground area and it was full of about 10 Burrows, standing, grazing, and soaking up the sun. So weird! We had fun driving around and finding a new adventure.

Pan "Cakes"

I had a friend post a blog that talked about how when she makes pancakes she has her son help and make Pan "Cakes". I thought I would give it a try. Addy absolutely loved it. She helped me make and mix the batter, we added some food coloring (red to make pink and a little blue), we added sprinkles, blue berries, and we made them shapes. Addy liked making them so much that she ate 5 half dollar sized pan "cakes". She liked the pink ones better than the blue! In fact she did not even want to stir them (see below). We even decorated her plate. She was in Pan"Cake" Heaven. Thanks for the great ideas!

Some pictures

Every morning Addy likes to watch some Toons. She asks for them that way or she will say "George?" She watches Curious George, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, and Yo Gabba Gabba. Some mornings she will watch it on the love sack .
A mall called Town Square has a really fun play place. It has age appropriate playhouses, a maze, water fountain, a stage, and little things to ride.

The park near our house has this little bouncer. Addy rides it and says Vroom vroom the whole time!

Posing for the camera.
Addy heard an airplane.
Jumping to reach an airplane.

Where's Mo?
Addy loves to jump on her Dad.

Daddy and Addy time

Addy loves to play Sleep. She lays down on the stairs and says "Sleep". I thought maybe she was tired but she just thought it was funny. She also likes to play Sleep where you pretend to be asleep so she can jump on you, near you, or fall on your head. She is so silly!

One Saturday afternoon, we headed over to the Fashion Show Mall where there is an actual fashion show. The floor raises up and a little building rises out of the floor and the models come out of the building. It was fun to watch and make fun of the way the models walk. Shortly after I got may camera out and snapped a picture, I had a security guard tap me on the shoulder and tell me no pictures. Who knew!

Fathers Day (just a little late)

Fathers day weekend the firm that Wes works for had a weekend planned for everyone in St. George, Ut to stay in a hotel and go to Tuachan. ( http://www.tuacahn.org/)
Friday night we arrived and ate at a BBQ place. Addy and I got to meet everyone and their spouses. It was great. Addy was a bit wiggly because of sitting in the car for the hour and a half but she had a great time.

The view near Tuachan.
After dinner we drove up to Tuachan and watched the musical ANNIE. It was so cute and I hardly remembered any of it from my childhood so it was nice to have a refresher. Addy loved it because there was a dog in it and because of the singing. What she did not love was sitting still, being hot and sweaty and having to sit on my lap past her bed time. We left a little early due to the fact that Addy was done. On one of my trips out with Addy I heard one of the workers say to a coworker, "I don't know why anyone would bring their kids here. They would be so much happier and so would the kids if they were home in bed." DUH lady!!! Who wants to bring their kids there unless they are old enough! I said to her "Some of us are out of towners and do not have babysitter. I would be much happier if my baby wasn't here but we did not have a choice."
She stared at me blankly and said "Well I guess that is true". Yep it was!

Instead of staying in a hotel, all in the same room, we were lucky enough to stay at Grandpa's condo just right down the street from the hotel. It was so nice to have our own little space for a while and that Addy could have her own space too. It was great! Thank you grandpa!

Saturday morning we work up, worked out, went swimming, went to a park, got ice cream, met the firm for dinner at the pizza factory, dropped Addy off at a friends house (thank you so much!!) and headed back to Tuachan to watch the musical FOOTLOOSE! It was so good and we had a blast being on a date. We picked up Addy at about 11:30pm MST. headed to the condo and slept our little eyes out.

Sunday we woke up cleaned the condo, went out to breakfast to the Bear Claw and had an amazing breakfast, drove back home, got ready for church, went to church, came home and had a friend over for dinner. Man it was a busy day but totally worth every second.
