August visits and visitors

One Saturday morning the 3 of us got up and decided to go hiking up Mt. Charleston. We did not go very far, or very fast but it was a nice break from the norm and from the heat.

The next week Addy's best friend moved suddenly to Utah and Addy was so very sad. I did not know a two year old could feel so sad and understand what that even meant. She told anyone with ears that her best friend moved to Utah and she was very sad. Luckily they are living close to Addy's Oma and Opa so we will be able to see them when we go up there.
The next weekend we took a trip up to Cedar City, Utah and went to the Shakespeare Festival. Wes's work goes somewhere together every year. So this year it was the Festival. Lucky for us Oma and Opa could come down and hang out with Addy while Wes and I went to two plays. The first night we went to an Alfred Hitchcock play called 39 Steps. It was very entertaining and funny. The next night we went to Much Ado About Nothing. This one was also pretty funny and fun to watch.
During the day while we were there we went to the park and played played played, went to lunch with the coworkers and just got to relax a little. Thanks again Oma and Opa for coming so that Wes and I could go!

At the end of August, my mom and dad came to visit. We crammed just enough things in to keep us busy.
We went swimming, went to the park, Springs Preserve, out to eat, we took naps, watched movies, played, Addy started ballet classes, I had a baby shower and Wes and I actually went out on a date. We had lots of fun.

Naps

Lately I have been taking naps with Addy. I figure that there probably would not be a better time to spend with her since time is coming short of her alone time with me. I am loving it. She snuggles down on my pillow, makes all of her stuffed animals kiss and hug me, she squeezes my arm 3 times with means I love you and sometimes she pets me and says "Pretty Mama". I just love it!
Lately she has been waking up in the middle of her nap, looks right at me and says something and then goes back to sleep.
Yesterday:
"Mom, just one squirt, not any more."
I asked her what but she was back asleep. 10 minutes later she woke up and said "Where is the lid?" I said "The lid to what?" She says "My hot chocolate milk you made me." I said "Sweetie we are up in bed, we don't have chocolate milk up here." Then she started to cry and just really wanted that chocolate milk.

Another talking during nap time she sits up and hands me something imaginary and says " Can you shut that for me please?" She gets comfy again and is back asleep. A few minutes later sits up and starts searching the bed and says, " Mom where did you put them?" "Put what?" I ask.
"My cheetos....did you eat them all?"
I just started laughing.
She is so silly.
