No. KA-16-M-2590 belonging to one Julpikar Ali Husain that was parked near Jayashree Gate at Mangalore. The Mahendra Scorpio vehicle is worth Rs. 4,00,000/.

• A case under House trespass, Outranging the modesty of women, Hurt, Mischief of causing damage along with Criminal intimidation has been registered in Kavoor Police Station. On 15/12/2007 at 2330 hrs accused Srinivas, Venkatesh, and Jayanthi w/o Srinivas criminally trespassed into the house belonging to one Jaya (40) W/o Surendra R/o Gandhinagara Kavoor Mangalore and outraged her modesty by pulling her hand and assaulted her and husband Surendra with wooden stick and damaged the house by pelting stone and also gave life threat to them. Motive seems to be personal enmity between them.

• A case under Criminal restraint, Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace, Hurt along with Criminal intimidation has been registered in Kadaba Police Station. On 16/12/2007 at 1330 hrs accused one Gopala Kriahna Moolya criminally restrained one Revathi (25) W/o Dombayya Moolya R/o Golithadka Kuntharu village Puttur Taluk near her house and abused her in filthy language and assaulted her by hand also gave life threat to her owing to trivial issue.

• A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Ullal Police Station. On 16/12/2007 at 0430 hrs near Over Bridge at Ullal Mangalore one Tharanatha driver of auto rickshaw bearing Reg. No. KA-19-8032 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner due which one Damodhar Shettigar (37) R/o Ullal Mangalore who traveling in the said auto rickshaw was thrown out of the auto rickshaw and sustained grievous injuries.

• A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Ullal Police Station. On 16/12/2007 at 1300 hrs at Someshwara Mangalore one Mudasir driver of car bearing Reg. No. MH-01-Y-1586 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against an auto rickshaw bearing Reg. No. KA-19-B-625. As a result Rahamathulla U. H. (32) R/o Ullal Mangalore driver of auto rickshaw and Abdul Khader who was traveling in the said auto rickshaw sustained simple injuries.

• A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Belthangady Police Station. On 16/12/2007 at 0845 hrs at Yennakalthota Dharmastala village Belthangady Taluk one Gopinatha driver of car bearing Reg. No. KA-02-C-8694 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against a KSRTC bus bearing Reg. No. KA-19-F-2220 driven by one Maruti H. (29). As a result driver of car Gopinatha, Shivalingayya and Chennamma who were traveling in the said car sustained simple injuries.

On 16/12/2007 at 1300 hrs accused Mithun Fernandez (25) R/o Kunjathabail Mangalore, Srinivas M. (43) R/o Gandhinagara Kavoor Mangalore, Venkatesha and other 3 persons came in a Indica car bearing Reg. No. KA-19-Z-1069 and a motorcycle bearing Reg. No. CRX-1327 and forming into an unlawful assembly with deadly weapons and stopped a motorcycle at Bodel Marakada village Mangalore Taluk and abused the rider of motorcycle one Udaya Kumar (34) R/o Sunkadakatte Bajpe Mangalore in filthy language and attempted to kill him by assaulting with wooden stick and with kinfe. They also assaulted pillion rider of said motorcycle one Sathish with wooden stick who came o help Udaya Kumar. The motive seems to be family dispute.

• A case under Hurt has been registered in Sullia Police Station. On 16/12/2007 at 1300 hrs accused one Pakeera assaulted one Sundara (36) R/o Koyla Ivarnadu village Sullia Taluk with sickle near his house. The motive seems to be civil dispute between them.

• A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Sullia Police Station. On 16/12/2007 at 0900 hrs one Bhaskara B.V (21) a student of K.V.G. Dental College Sullia Town attempted to commit suicide by jumping from college building and got serious injuries. He was admitted to Wenlock hospital at Mangalore were he declared dead while under treatment on the same day at 1300 hrs.

• A case under Burglary has been registered in Moodabidre Police Station on the complaint of one Lawrence Periera (78) R/o Ajjibettu Karinje village Mangalore Taluk. In the complaint it is alleged that one Jagga Shetty R/o Tharipadpu village Mangalore Taluk gained entry into the his house and committed theft of gold ornaments in the month of Sepetmber 2007. The stolen property is worth Rs. 24,000

• A case of Ordinary Theft has been registered in Mangalore North Police Station. On 15/12/2007 at 1815 hrs some unknown culprits committed theft of a gold ornaments which was kept inside the car belonging to one Sanjaya Denjeeth Fernandez R/o Vamanjoor Mangalore that was parked in the premises of Khazana Jewellery at Balmatta Mangalore. The stolen property is worth Rs. 43,000/.

On the night of 12/12/2007 some unknown culprits committed theft of Aluminum and Brass spare parts of Electricity Transformer belonging to Mescom Mulki Mangalore that was kept at Kolnadu Karnadu village Mangalore. The total worth of stolen property is about Rs. 45,000/.

No. KA-19-B-5256 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against a Honda car bearing Reg. No. KA-19-2328 driven by one Lancy Let Pinto R/o Padil Mangalore. • A case under Murder has been registered in Sullia Police Station. On 14/12/2007 at 1930 hrs accused one Thambayya assaulted his son Chandrashekara (34) R/o Karinje C. R. Colony Kanakamajalu village Sullia Taluk with sickle in his house due which Chandrashekara got serious injuries and he succumbed to his injuries on the way to hospital. Motive seems to be family dispute between them.

On 15/12/2007 at 0815 hrs on Padavinangady-Bondel road at Padavinangady Mangalore one Muzamil Fakkardey driver of Tipper lorry bearing Reg. No. KA-20-A-5991 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against a Kinetic Honda scooter bearing Reg. No. CRX-1281. As a result Kinetic Honda scooter rider one Karthik Raj sustained serious injuries. Further he was admitted to A. J. hospital at Mangalore where he succumbed to his injuries while under treatment on the same day.

• A case of Fatal Road accident has been registered in Mulki Police Station. On 14/12/2007 at 1835 hrs on NH-17 at Haleyangady junction Mangalore Taluk one Ibrahim driver of bus bearing Reg. No. KA-20-A-7722 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against a bicycle. As a result bicycle rider one Beer Bahuddur (45) sustained serious injuries. Further he was admitted to Govt. hospital at Mulki where he succumbed to his injuries while under treatment on the same day.

• A case of Fatal Road accident has been registered in Belthangady Police Station where in one Shilpashree (08) has been declared dead while under treatment on 14/12/2007 at 1055 hrs. The said Shilpashree was seriously injured by a Maruti Omni car in a road traffic accident on 05/12/2007 at 08300 hrs at Kaduru-Bantwal road at Belthangady Town and admitted to the A. J. Hospital at Mangalore. In this connection a case has been already registered in Belthangady Police Station.

• A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Sullia Police Station. On 14/12/2007 at 1910 hrs at Halegetu Sullia Town one Sharif driver of Tanker bearing Reg. No. KA-12-8291 drove her vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against a motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KL-14-F-3833. As a result Kamalaksha motorcycle rider and Gopinatha (27) R/o Kasaragod District Kerala State pillion rider of said motorcycle sustained simple injuries.

• A case under Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace, Criminal intimidation along with intending to insult the modesty of woman (sec 509 IPC) has been registered in Moodabidre Police Station. On 12/12/2007 at 1900 hrs at Aliyuru pete Valpady village Mangalore Taluk accused Vittala and Nagesh abused one Vasanthi (38) W/o Dayananda R/o Valpady village Mangalore Taluk in filthy language and tried to insult her modesty and also gave life threat to her. The motive seems to be that Vasanthi had earlier lodged a complaint against accused persons in Moodabidre Police Station.

On 12/12/2007 at 1445 hrs on NH-17 near Talapady Bridge at Talapady village Mangalore Taluk one unknown driver of lorry bearing Reg. No. KL-10-B-5553 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against one Ramanna Achary (52) R/o Thachchani Talapady village Mangalore Taluk a pedestrian. As a result one Ramanna sustained serious injuries and died on the spot. The lorry driver escaped from the place without stopping his vehicle.
  
• A case of Fatal Road accident has been registered in Sullia Police Station. On 14/12/2007 at 0315 hrs on Aramthodu-Yelimale road at Kayarthadka Markanja village Sullia Taluk one Kushalappa Gowda rider of motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-21-J-3332 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and lost control over the vehicle due which the motorcycle fell in to a roadside ditch. As a result Kushalappa Gowda rider of motorcycle sustained serious injuries and Ananda (20) R/o Devachalla village Sullia Taluk pillion rider of said motorcycle sustained simple injuries. Further Kushalappa Gowda was admitted to Govt. hospital at Sullia where he succumbed to his injuries while under treatment on the same day.

• A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Mangalore South Police Station. On 01/12/2007 on Nellikayi road at Mangalore one unknown rider of motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-19-U-5630 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against another motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-19-U-0413. As a result one Yogish R/o Bantwal Taluk rider of motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-19-U-0413 sustained simple injuries. The rider of motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-19-U-5630 escaped from the place without stopping his vehicle.

On 14/12/2007 at 1315 hrs on NH-17 near KPT Mangalore one unknown Echier Tempo driver drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against a motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-19-H-8301. As a result Sanath Kumar K. R/o Kulai village Mangalore Taluk rider of said motorcycle sustained grievous injuries. The driver of Echier Tempo escaped from the place without stopping his vehicle.

In between 28/11/2007 at 1630 hrs and 03/12/2007 at 1800 hrs some unknown culprits gained entry into the house belonging to one Riyaz Mohammed B. (36) R/o Panemangalore Bantwal Taluk by breaking the door lock and committed theft of house hold items and cash Rs. 17,000 all in worth Rs. 20,000/.

On 05/12/2007 at 1730 hrs near Mangaladevi Temple at Mangalore one driver of Fire Service vehicle bearing Reg. No. CAG-878 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against a car bearing Reg. No. KA-19-M-5866 driven by one Sudhakara J. K. (23) R/o Kumpala Someshwara village Mangalore Taluk. On 04/12/2007 at 1100 hrs at Brahmanara Kodi Derebail village Mangalore Taluk one Arjun driver of Tipper lorry bearing Reg. No. GJ-05-UU-1860 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and lost control over his vehicle due which Tipper capsized. As a result one Mallesha cleaner of said Tipper sustained simple injuries.

Wooden logs seized by Uppinangady Police

On 04/12/2007 at 1700 hrs PSI Uppinangady PS along with his staff on credible information intercepted a lorry bearing Reg. No. MYH-7926 at Punekal Thekkaru village Belthangady Taluk and seized 33 teak wood logs that were being transported illegally by arresting Aboobakkar (70), Abdul Khader (40), Suryaprakash (40), Aboobakkar (25), and Sahul Hameed (40). The lorry has also been seized. However Ismail and Umaramma managed to escape.

The total value of property seized is worth Rs. 4,00,000/. In this connection, a case has been registered in Uppinangady PS under the Karnataka Forest Act.

On 28/11/2007 at 1030 hrs one Roopa (20) R/o Yeyyadi Padvu village Mangalore Taluk sustained serious burn injuries while trying to light kerosene stove in her house. She was admitted to Wenlock hospital and there while under treatment she succumbed to her injuries on 03/12/2007 at 1800 hrs.

On 02/12/2007 at 1630 one Srinivas Naik (65) R/o Deralakatte JalalBhag Kotekaru village Mangalore Taluk attempted to commit suicide by consuming poison in his house owing to health problem. Further he was admitted to K.S. Hegde hospital at Deralakatte Mangalore where he declared dead while under treatment on same day at 1900 hrs.

On 27/12/2007 one unknown female aged about 55 to 60 yrs accidentally fell down at Mannasanka Dharmasthala village Belthangady Taluk. Further she was admitted to Govt. hospital at Belthangady where she declared dead while under treatment on 03/12/2007 at 0445 hrs. The death seems to be due some illness.
