Hi Everyone!
Welcome to a brand new challenge for the New Year here at "Sundays with Crissy"!!
It's my turn to get you all warmed up and thaw out those creative juices, because our theme for January is... "Beat the Mid-Winter Blues!" You can interpret this however you want! Escaping Mid-Winter for you could mean sun and warmth, anything that screams beach, seaside, underwater, sunny, or tropical. Or maybe you will want to make a card in all blue tones. Or even just getting some crafting time in is your way of beating the mid-winter blues! This theme is up to your interpretation!
Of course this is easy peasy for me, considering we are actually in the middle of a heat-wave LOL!! I don't really have to stretch my imagination too far here in our Aussie summer! ;)
My beautiful niece has just had her 3rd birthday, so I chose to show you the card I made for her. It looks just like her (all blonde curls and blue eyes), and of course this time of year she loves to be out in the sunshine picking the flowers... perfect for our summery theme!
This image is the adorable "Gracie's Roses" by Crissy Armstrong (of course!), and is available from Whimsy Stamps.
The good news is my niece loved her card. She held it up to herself in front of the mirror and told her Mum "that's me"! - how cute is that?? Thanks Crissy!! ;)
I'd love you to pop over to my blog Embellished ExpresShan's for a visit, and see more details about my card!

Happy New Year Everyone!! From all of us here at Sundays With Crissy, we wish you and those you love health, happiness, peace, joy, and prosperity for 2012! I trust you all ate too much, when to bed really late, and had way too much fun partying it up!! I spent my night making my project for this challenge (oh the procrastinator that I am--I feel a New Year's Resolution coming on--LOL). Also, sat down with Hub's and did some goal setting for the year. Not much partying here but that's okay, I feel inspired, I do!!
Now onto blog business....I have been off cruising the Caribbean, so a big thank you to Crissy for taking over for me for the month of December. A big thank you goes out to all of you who entered last month's challenge too--over 130 entries!! Woooohooo!! Now it's time for January's challenge!! This month we want you to think warm and sunny thoughts to Beat The Mid-Winter Blues!! For me, living in the land of ice and snow, that's anything that screams beach, seaside, underwater, sunny, or tropical, but you can interpret it your own way if you want. Maybe you will want to make a card in all blue tones, or maybe just getting some crafting time in is your way of beating the mid-winter blues! This theme is up to your interpretation!
For me, this challenge theme was perfect timing!! I am having cruise ship withdrawal and although I didn't actually see any mermaids while I was at sea, I did look for them!! All I saw was a bunch of flying fish & a stingray...not even a dolphin!! I must have been looking the other way, LOL!! Anyway, I couldn't wait to get some ink on my new rubber that recently came in and thought she was perfect for this challenge. The stamp is called "Journey Into The Sea" from Whimsy stamps.
I decided I'd make a journal to document my memories of the trip while it's all still fresh in my mind--Lord knows when I will actually sit my fanny down and scrapbook the actual trip!! In any case, this will make the journaling aspect a little easier when I finally do.
You can visit my personal blog Sally Cicada Designs for more details on this project.

Sarah Litterick--Blog and DT Coordinator
Hi, I'm Sarah and I live in SW Ontario, Canada with my husband, daughter, and two crazy cats. I have been an avid scrapbooker for most of my life and started making cards about 4 years ago. Most of my stamp collection at the moment is rubber but I have also fallen madly in love with digital stamps too!! I gravitate to using alcohol based markers to colour my images but also love to use Prismacolor pencils with mineral spirits too; sometimes combining both methods. I feel very excited, blessed and honoured to be a member of Crissy's Crew!!
Patricia Garcia
Hello my name is Patricia Garcia. I am a native from Mexico but have lived here in California since I was a little girl. I have always liked papercrafting and coloring is my passion. I love making handmade cards and personalized items for my friends and family. I am truly honored to be working with such an amazing crew here at Sundays with Crissy.
Carole
Hi, my name is Carole and I live in the UK. I’ve been crafting for about 5 years but since I discovered Copic markers I really haven’t looked back. Digi stamps are my latest favourite thing and I enjoy the challenge of having a new image to play with. I love being part of the crafting community, it really seems to bring out the best in us all, and I’m excited and very honoured to be a part of Crissy’s team.
Jane Johnson
"I'm Jane from the UK and I am a stay at home Mum to two gorgeous children who keep me entertained and busy. I have loved to draw, paint and create for as long as I can remember and soon became addicted to card making when I purchased a small kit 2 years ago. I have been incredibly lucky since I started my blog and am on a few design teams and made lots of special friends. I am absolutely thrilled to be a part of Crissy's team and to have the opportunity to work with her adorable images."
Linda Jessup
Hi I’m Linda. I am from the UK, but for the time being I live in Bahrain with my lovely husband Brian who works here, he is very supportive to my crafting adventures as I call them, which is bit of a task sometimes with all the mess I make in my craft room. I have always loved arts and crafts especially scrapbooking, altered art and card making but my adventures took a turn when I found stamping three years ago and was hooked straight away, I use all kinds of mediums but Copic and Pro Markers are my favourites.
MIchelle Petermann
"Hi everyone -- I'm Michelle & I live just outside of Milwaukee, WI. I'm married with 2 boys, 9 &12. I've been stamping for 6 years now & I LOVE cute images which is why I've been a fan of Crissy's since the day I met her. It means so much to me to be part of the Crew! My preferred way of coloring is colored pencils/Goo Gone but I do try desperately to use Copic Markers & even more desperately -- watercoloring! Thank you so much to Crissy & the team for having me!!"
Shari McLaughlin
I am mom to two adults and 4 fur babies, and have been a crafter forever. I started with rug hooking, crocheting, faux painting, and then ran my own tole painting business for years ( even cut my own pieces of wood ). Scrapbooking entered the picture about 14 years ago when I moved to Calgary. When Copics first came out I resisted - who needed another addiction LOL!!! - that lasted for a whole two months, and then I took a basic class and the rest as they say is history!! I became a Copic Certified Designer in April 2010 and LOVE everything about Copics, including experimenting with all kind of techniques, and passing my passion and knowledge on to fellow Copic lovers!!! I am so honored to be invited to join the DT at Sundays with Crissy, and am looking forward to getting to meet new people through the challenges.
Shannah Bartle
“Hi! I'm Shannah and I live in the beautiful Hills region of South Australia. My wonderful hubby is a Police Officer, and we have one cat (ie demanding fur-baby) called Poppy. I love traveling, photography, talking and reading, and am happy as long as I'm learning something! I took up card-making about 3 years ago, and the very first stamps I fell in love with were Crissy's High Hopes cuties! So you can imagine how excited, nervous, and completely honored I am to be a member of Crissy's Crew! :)”

Hello, my name is Rosalien Zwackhalen and I live in the Netherlands. I’m married and we have 2 grown up children ( a daughter and a son ) who live on their own now. We also have 2 German Shepherds who are the greatest dogs in the world. I had a lot of hobby’s in the past but Scrapbooking and Card Making with rubber or digital stamps are my favorites. I discovered them a couple of years ago and I never loved a hobby as much as this one. Soon I started my own blog and joined some DT’s. I was so excited when I was asked to join Chrissy’s DT. I love her images and they are so great to color. And it’s so great to be part of this amazing and super talented DT.I hope I can inspire you a little with my creations, just like you all do to me with your creations.
Doreen O'Brien
I'm Doreen and I live at home in Sheffield in the UK with my husband Tommy. We have Three grown up children and two grandchildren. I am now retired from a long service of nursing and the spare time I found I had, made me look around for a hobby. I have been card making for about three years and absolutely love it! Promarkers are my favourite colouring medium. I am so excited and honoured to be part of Crissy's fabulous crew!
Chris Olsen
Hi! My name is Chris Olsen and I live in Bloomingburg, NY, with my wonderful husband, Scott, and two beautiful girls, Nicki and Meghan. I love everything crafty and began stamping about 3 1/2 years ago. I especially enjoy coloring and creating cards or 3D gifts for others. I use stamping as a hobby or way to escape. It has been a blessing to meet so many creative people in the blogging world and learn from them as well. I just love Crissy's drawings and I feel deeply honored and blessed to have the opportunity to work with her and this incredibly talented design team!
