Taylored Expressions Release Day: Sack it Penguin Giftset and Color Block birthday card

Hi Everyone,

Today is release day over at Taylored Expressions - if you are reading this then that means that the store is open!! Woohoo!! And my favorite part of online shopping is that I can shop in my bed with my pajamas :D There are so many new dies and stamp sets that are being released today - including two new Project Pantries ready for your holiday cardmaking!

On my first project today, I used the 'Tis the Season Project Pantry to create this little Penguin Giftset made with the Sack It To You Penguin set which comes with dies ready to make the cutest penguin ever - you can make him/her into a card or use the SacK it To You die to create a little Penguin sack - perfect for winter birthdays, teacher presents, class favors - or for anything at all!!

Here is another look at the Giftset with the Tag coming out of the Tag Pocket of the card:

I also created a coordinating card using the Tag Pocket die - perfect to create a little note inside or little tag - I used the sentiments from the stamp set: Baby, It's Cold Outside - And on the inside of my tag, I used the cute little teacup from the Tea-riffic stamp set (that comes with a coordinating die) - love this sweet image!

And here is one more look at my cute little penguin.... seriously - this little guy is sooooo cute - and this die comes with all the pieces to create this adorable little penguin. I started out by making a sack using the Sack it to You die and then assembled all the pieces together onto the sack to create this super cute favor bag. I especially like the scarf/hat ensemble - so very chic mr. penguin, if I do say so myself!

Project Ingredients:
Stamps: Baby, Its Cold Outside stamp set, Sunflower Bouquet stamp set, Tea-riffic stamp set (with coordinating die) from TE
Paper: 'Tis The Season Project Pantry from Taylored Expressions
Inks: Memento Ladybug Red
Taylored Dies: Tag Pocket die, Sack It to you Penguin, Sack it To You die, Label Stacklets 2
Accessories: foam dimensionals, chunky glitter from MS, glue dots, corner rounder, grommet and Best Glue Ever

For my second project today, I am using the brand new Color Block Cutting Plate! It is SO so SO cool - it not only cuts out an awesome layout for A2 cards (either vertical or horizontal) but it also includes 11 separate dies! That means that within each block - there are two more pieces that can be cut out - how cut is that?!

So for my card, I decided that I wanted to use all the layers and cut out the die with 5 colors: black, green, yellow, pink and blue and then layered them together in different combinations and added flowers, hearts or buttons to the centers of the blocks with the sentiment: "Happy Birthday" coming from the Sunflower Bouquet stamp set. It was so much fun to make this card - and the best part is I have more pieces ready to create more cards - just mix, match and adhere :) Gotta love that!

Card Ingredients:
Stamps: Sunflower Bouquet from Taylored Expressions
Paper: Bazzill cardstock, Choice Black Cardstock
Inks: Memento Bahama Blue
Accessories: Color Block Cutting Plate from TE, Prima Fairy tales flowers, May Arts twine, buttons from stash, corner frounder, foam dimensionals, glue dots, Best Glue Ever

Taylored Expressions October Sneak Peeks: We Give Thanks

Please scroll down for my Color Throwdown Guest Designer Card

Hi Everyone,

Welcome to the Taylored Expressions sneak peeks party this week as we show some samples from the October Release from Taylored Expressions! All products will be available this Thursday at 7am PST for your crafting pleasure! Woot!!

Today, I created a little Thanksgiving gift set using the new stamp set: We Give Thanks. This project could also be a fun little idea for a place setting at the Thanksgiving Table - with a little muslin bag stamped with the sentiments and pumpkins filled with favors at each person's place at the table:
Here is a closer look at the little muslin bags - I stamped the pumpkin directly onto it and then color it with copics and stamped the sweet sentiment underneath the pumpkin image - the sentiment reads:"May your days be happy, your lives be full, and your hearts be thankful." How very sweet!!! I love that you can stamp directly onto the bags - soo cool!!
Here is a closer peek at the card - I made this using the Bracket Notecard die and added some label size mats for the sentiment that I rounded the corners and added a little line of liquid pearls. I added a little line of grass to put the pumpkin in (colored with copics and then glazed) and added a felted bow using the Mix & Match dies (which you purchase with the release tomorrow) with a bling in the middle:

Card Ingredients:
Stamps: We Give Thanks from Taylored Expressions
Inks: Memento Rhubarb and Tuxedo Black and copics
Paper: Bazzill cardstock
Accessories: Muslin bags (set of 10), Corner chomper, Bracket Notecard, grass punch from MS, glaze, Mix and Match Bow dies, bling and dimensionals
It was so much fun to stamp these sweet bags and create this little giftset and I can't wait to see all the lovely projects created by this wonderful and amazing design team - please hop around with me and check them out:

ColorThrowdown Challenge #262 - Thankful for You!

Hi Everyone!

I am so super excited to have been asked to be the guest designer for the Color Throwdown challenge for the month of October!!!  Every week a different color combo with an inspiration photo is given and you create any project that combines those colors in any way you want! I can't even tell you how excited I was to be asked - I remember when the Color Throwdown challenge first started so many moons ago and was so excited to play in the very first challenge :) And now I am so excited to play along as guest designer - yay- thank you so much lovely ladies for having me on board this month!

This week's challenge is a perfect way to "fall" into October ;) Look at these lovely : makes me want to take a walk in the park wearing a sweater and with hot latte and enjoy the cool weather and the leaves changing color. I especially love the two crushed curry and more mustard colors. Fall is my absolute favorite season -I love going hunting for the perfect pumpkins with the kids, enjoying hot apple cider with pies and being in nature in all its autumnal glory. I chose the Celebrate Life stamp set from Taylored Expressions for the beautiful sentiment - love this font and used the Mini Leaves dies to cut out some leaves in the different colors
I used the Quatrefoil Cutting Plate to create the yellow backgroud on the gray CS and then layered the mats using the Label Stacklets 2 dies - sponging the inside of one of the mats with a little bit of yellow ink. The leaves are die cut, glazed and then popped up with dimensionals in the center with a little bit of heart blings to the corners of the mat - here is a closer peek at the leaves:
Card Ingredients:
Stamps: Celebrate Life from Taylored Expressions
Inks: Memento Ladybug Red, Canteloupe
Papers: Bazzill cardstock and Choice Snow White from TE
Taylored Dies: Mini Leaf dies, Label Stacklets 2, Quatrefoil Cutting Plate
Accessories: mini heart punch, corner chomper,  EK success mini scallop punch , buttons, glaze, satin ribbon, bling, dimensionals, Burlap Trim Ribbon.

I loved playing with the Color Throwdown challenge this week - if you need to make a card and can't figure out where to start, this is a great challenge to help you get started! Please check out all the amazing creations from the DT over at the Color Throwdown and play along!

Taylored Expressions October Sneak Peeks: Baby, It's Cold Outside and Sack it to You!

Hi Everyone,

Welcome to the Taylored Expressions October Release where we will be sneak peeks from the upcoming release - filled with so many amazing new stamps, dies and papers - yum yum yum!!!

Starting off, I created my very first Christmas card with this sweet little christmas tree from the Baby, Its Cold Outside stamp set. I love all the images and the super fun sentiments!! I colored in the tree and added the sentiment to the side and used papers from the 'Tis The Season Project Pantry Kit which will also be available with the release. I loved blinging up the card a little bit for a little bit of holly jolly fun :)

Here is another angle of the card - I love this Christmas Tree image - there is something so lovely and sweet about this sweet tree - so much fun to color it up - can you believe that Christmas is just around the corner?!! I am excited to get my jingle bell fun on! :)

For my second card, I made a little birthday gift set using the AWESOME and amazing Sack It To You die and used the sentiment from the Sunflower Bouquet set that will also be released this week! How amazing is this sweet die - makes creating party favors so much more fun and personal! I cut a little vellum see through circle in my sack  and created a little vellum bow from the Mix & Match dies that will also be released!! So much fun to create this sweet little gift set:

Here is a closer peek at the little card created from the Bracket Notecard folding die from Taylored Expressions - and the new bow dies as well as a closer peek at the sentiment:

I love this sweet super amazing die - the Sack It To You die is soooo amazingly versatile! I added some buttons hanging on the side with a little bit of twine and used the same twine to hang the sentiment:

I had so much fun creating these fun projects and I can't wait to see what all the amazing creations the design team has created  - please hop along with me to check them out:
