Year Three Week Twenty-Six

Halloween is near... can you feel it in the air?
In preschool we not only made this cute cat, but now I know how to spell it too.
Dallin the human tree!
Halloween hasn't even happened yet but the isles of Costco are lined up with Christmas presents. Giddy-up!
Pumpkins!
Grandma and Uncle Danny came over to visit. Luckily the weather held out long enough for us to visit the pumpkin patch and pick out our plump pumpkins.
Unfortunately Uncle Danny was very sick all weekend, so he wasn't his usual fun self.

But we did get to carve our pumpkins. I liked scooping out the guts, but I was careful not to get it on my hands. I made mom wipe up even the smallest bit.
Mom created this Iron Man pumpkin just for me. I loved it so much I gave it several hugs.
Here are all the masterpieces lit up.
Dad carved the ghost. The big ones are Shayla's and Vincent's, and Grandma's was the goofy faced one.
I love it when Grandma and Uncle Danny come to visit! We had fun playing the Wii together.
Only one more week until Halloween!

Mom's note: One evening Dallin wanted to use use his scissors. So I gave him some paper and he started cutting out "coupons". One for Mom, one for Dad, one for Shayla...all the way through both families. Then he cut a little one for his baby brother. I was cooking so he came over and tried to stick it to my belly. "We need some tape. We need some glue. Glue and tape." Then he found my pocket, put it inside and said "this is for my baby brother, okay?"

Year Three Week Twenty-Five

Ugh, Shayla got me! We celebrated Grandma Sheila's 60th birthday surprise party! I tried to hide in my makeshift present but I kept falling over.
The boys wrestling.
Uncle Randy and Aunt Sherry flew up from San Diego to join us on her special day!
We made sure Grandma's special day was amazing as we played all of her favorite games, made all of her favorite meals, and even entertained her with our talents.

Happy birthday Grandma Sheila! We love you!
It was so wonderful to celebrate Grandma's special day and to play with my cousins too.
Grandma and Uncle Danny are coming to visit us next week!

Year Three Week Twenty-Four

On a whim, Dad took me to the Pumpkin Patch! Well, wearing my jack-o'-lantern shirt might have been an influence. I found the silliest squash ever!Look at all of those birds! The pumpkin patch could benefit from a scarecrow. Or two. Hundred.
So many pumpkins to sit on.
Hey, look at me! I can balance on a pumpkin!
How many Dallins in pumpkins!?
We met up with Uncle Shawn, Vincent, Fran, Emma, and Steven at the Museum of Flight. I really wanted to dance to the boppin' beats of the boogie woogie bugle boy of company B but no one else was feeling it. Mom finally acquiesced to my delight.

Dad took me and Vincent to the Science Center where we shrunk down in size.
Experiencing the planetarium was fascinating but Vincent and I needed to stretch our legs after the program. These water canons did the trick.
Dad tried to explain centripetal and centrifugal forces to us but we were having way too much fun spinning the gelatinous planet.
We ate a monstrous lunch while watching the bug movie on the Imax screen. Afterward, we toured the insect exhibits including the favorite butterfly house. Vincent was not enjoying it, especially when the butterflies kept landing on him.
We both took long naps on the way home but woke up ready to go to Vincent's house to play on his new Wii!
I tried to help mom with the vacuuming, but she wouldn't slow down long enough for me to help. So I found another way to participate. Way more fun this way anyhow!
Yeehaw! See you next week!

Year Three Week Twenty-Three

Hey, what's that I'm wearing on my head? It's one of the many pieces that give dress shirts their pristine look. I'm just gearing up for Halloween though.
How much did I like It's A Small World? See for yourself.
Here we are to discover the gender of my sibling. Mom and I wore these masks because of our coughs. I didn't mind one bit though.
Oh Boy!! It's a baby brother for me!!
Another boy in the family. Can you imagine two Dallins? Oh boy indeed!
The train is back and with it, new friends to play with.
I really like my cough mask even though my cough is gone. It's like wearing a Halloween mask!
Dad and Uncle Shawn went over to Grandma Sheila's for the weekend to help out on her new addition. We're so excited to see it when it's completed!
Since the Dad's were away, the Mom's took us kids to the zoo. Wahoo!
We enjoyed watching the tigers play. I was cracking up!

Wheee!!

Now we need to figure out what my baby brother's name is going to be. Please give us your suggestions.

Year Three Week Twenty-Two, Part Two

Look out! It's crazy pajamas on my head boy!Jessalyn and Mom taking respite in the shade.
I surprised everybody by biking all the way to the Kellys and back again!

My fabulous feat inspired Shayla to join us for more bike riding!
Next week we'll find out if I'm going to have a baby brother or sister!

Year Three Week Twenty-Two, Part One - California!!!

We'd be remiss not to visit the beach in Long Beach. It was a little too cold to go in the water but we still made the most of it. We pretty much had the entire beach to ourselves. Can you guess what sand formation we created? Aunt Bonnie's favorite, a dolphin!
We also helped this turtle rise from the sand.
We saw seals playing, birds diving, boats cruising, and athletes bicycling. We in turn tossed the frisbee, played ball, chased birds, dug for treasure, and practiced our penmenship.
This is how we took most of our naps.
Grandpa saved us from the scary hide and seekers.
Our last full day in California took place at the
aptly named Aquarium of the Pacific. Can you believe we actually touched sharks?

Thankfully, we didn't touch the jellyfish but they were wondrous to behold.
This was our favorite non-interactive exhibit. My other favorite was the baby sharks. I told my parents that I'd rather have a baby shark than a baby sibling.

Oh yea.
The aquarium was so massive and entertaining that it took us nearly six hours to go through it all. But we still had energy to play 1, 2, 3!
And the next thing you know, it's time to come home.
Thank you Great Grandma, Grandma, Grandpa, Celeste, Jiho, Bonnie, Edan, and Isis for your overwhelmingly generous hospitality and unforgettable times! We love you guys and miss you already!
