Conference was amazing! I will admit, pre-mission, I never really got into the conference spirit. I always watched but usually fell asleep, or got distracted by my siblings and never really soaked it in. I remember on my mission the first General conference I watched I couldnt get enough. I had PAGES of notes and walked away so excited for the general conference issue of the ensign to arrive in the mail, I just wanted to soak more in. I have felt the same ever since. I look forward to conference so much its like spiritual Christmas!! This conference did not disappoint. Before (partially during) the sunday morning session (thanks to DVR we didnt miss a beat) The kids noticed all the parachuters jumping off the mountain behind our house, and KC and I decided to take a little sunday drive to the top of the mountain to watch them jump... it was a hit with the kids.
playing with rocks is just as entertaining as the parachuter flying behind them apparently...
I snapped this picture so I could convince Miles he never had to try a dangerous stunt again in his life... after all, he parachuted when he was one! Look at him fly!
amazing!
Later during conference, I had to pause several times because Smith wanted me to take a picture of him with his toys... Im glad Im not his toys... looks painful.
really though, how much cuter could he get? sand up his nose and all...
then I zeroed in on his monster lashes... HAVE to get a picture of those. seriously, have you ever seen longer lashes in your life? he could trap flies with those things.
I said, "Hold still Smitty, im trying to take a picture of your eyelashes." this is what I got.
sidenote: for those of you women who got to listen to the general relief society meeting... I LOVED President Monson's talk about the woman looking at her neighbors dirty laundry...
read it. then you will know why this picture applies...
another side note speaking of laundry... I cant get my kids to keep their clothes on! I get them dressed for the day, and two seconds later I find this!
this is the most a.d.d. post ever... sorry. anyway, back to conference weekend...
we took the kids to an awesome park in cedar hills... or maybe pleasant grove-ish area. it was SO COOL! It was like a giant fort, will all sorts of slides, bridges, swings, beehives (yes, i said beehives) games, musical instruments, and much more.
OCTOBER 5TH 2010
TODAY
Today. Today... was adventurous. on its own, because I decided with the overcast weather, it would be a great day to take pictures of the boys in their new sweaters. for fall I guess. Has anyone tried to take a picture of their own two year old, and one year old boys... together? I was exhausted after 5 minutes. Did I get that picture I wanted?... You tell me.
So I resorted to singles.
I can always get a hammy performance out of little Buddha.
Smith is a little tougher.
but some marshmellow bribing did the trick.
and then he was bored...
so I quit.
