Quite the comparison....

I went to visit my parents the other day and my dad handed me a photo of me he keep in his wallet when I was 2 1/2 years old. I held it up to a picture of my son Liam and thought we look an awful lot alike. He seems to have my personality too. He has a lot of John in him also though. He sure can be a pistol at times (from his mother's side):). But, he really is a very gentle and caring little guy. He is luckily very gentle with Landon. He loves to hold him and cuddle with him. He gives his brother lots of kisses. He always wants to be near him and lay with him too. Liam get's such a kick out of Landon. He loves when Landon is making different sounds. Liam will start cracking up. I think they are going to grow up and be pretty close friends. I am sure there will be some rough times also. But, for the most part they seem to really enjoy each other's company. Landon has developed quite a grip. The other morning Liam was lying next to him and Landon got a hold of Liam's hair and he wouldn't let go. Liam just laid there and looked at me for assistance. But, he didn't get mad or try to remove Landon from his hair. Liam is very good with him. Landon seems to have alot of his dad and grandpa Don in him. He is so laid back and easy going too. He sleeps a lot and loves to eat. He smiles a lot too. And he is turning into quite the little talker. I think he will be more like John and Liam is more like me....

Doctor's visit

So today I took Landon to the doctor for a couple more shots. He weighs 17.7 pounds! He is now three months old. He has been extra fussy today after he got his shots. He seems to not be feeling very good. He was running a slight fever so I gave him some tylenol. That seemed to really help him. I gave him his bath and he is out like a light! Liam got to visit his grandpa Ernie again today. He loves that! He knows the route to grandpa's house so when we are on our way he starts clapping. When we pull into the driveway he can hardly wait to get out of the car to see him. He is starting his second day of speech therapy this week. His physical therapist is back from vacation also. His infant teacher is wanting to schedule a makeup session from last week so we are also seeing her twice this week. Consequently this week is a busy week for us. We are signing him up for mommy and me swimming classes this week too. He loves water so I think it will be great for him. If he is anything like his father, he will be a fish in the water! John used to be so great at water polo, so I am hoping Liam will do great also.

News update on the boys

They are both doing great and thriving! Liam had his two year checkup about a month ago and Landon had his very first doctor's appointment. We merged them together to make it as much of a hassle free trip as we could. If that's even possible now days. To be quite honest, loading a two year old and a two month old and taking them out on the town is a bit of a difficult task. Not only do I prepare a massive diaper bag with all the extra clothes and diapers for both kids. But I need to make sure I grab snacks, food, games and books to keep our two year old busy. While one kid is running around and seeing what he can get himself into (or exploring I sometimes call it), the other is needing to be feed, or a changed diaper, or a new set of clothes (because he threw up on his outfit) or just needing some good old TLC. So consequently, we try to make our trips to the grocery store or to the doctor's office as smooth as possible. Although, now I am getting the hang of things. I would have to say the first month was a pretty big adjustment for everyone. However, luckily things have now fallen into place. Now back to the boys, Liam is 27 pounds now and has been for quite some time. He is a great eater and loves all types of food! He is participating in various types of therapy to help him in certain areas. He is doing great with it! Because of his eye issues when he was a baby that delayed him in certain areas of his development. However, due to his surgery at 15 months and his therapy services he is now thriving and doing better and better everyday! He is really trying to talk more and more. We take him to the Arboreum in Arcadia a couple times a week and he really seems to open up there. He learned the word "trees","peacock" and "grandma" last week. The Arboreum is absolutely gorgeous! I just found out the other day, they used a house called Queen Annes Cottage (see image above) at the Arboreum for the movie "Meet the Fockers" as the house Denna and Jack (who were Greg's parents) lived in. You are surrounded by nature and beauty. And it sits on acres and acres of land. It truly is a site to see. We usually will bring our lunch and walk all over the park. He sees all types of animals and plants. He runs around trying to find the peacocks. Landon is also thriving like crazy! He is now 15 pounds as of one month ago! He eats like a champ! He is in the 95% for his weight and 85% for his height. Our only problem is that he doesn't want to take to any bottles. We have tried five types and all he wants is mom. He is pushing up on his stomach already and really exploring his sounds. He especially gets more vocal at night time. He sleeps great and is a very easy going kid. He seems to have a lot of John in him. He is a very happy baby! I can't believe he is already going to be 3 months in two weeks! Time sure flies...

The boys...

Our newest edition, Landon Donald Gale was born on March 17, 2011. He was 8.1 pounds and 21 inches long. We did a photo shoot in March to capture some images of the boys. We wanted some baby pictures of Landon. The photographer thought it would be best to take the pictures a week after he was born. Which was perfect because Liam's second birthday was coming up in April and we wanted to capture him at the exciting age of two! Liam has been doing exceptionally well with being a big brother. He seems to really love Landon. He trys to play with him a lot. Liam loves to give Landon lots of kisses and hugs. He also will try to pet him. He has really been very gentle with him. Although, his newest thing is if Landon is quietly swinging in his swing, Liam will try to crawl inside with him. He wants to be near him all the time. And he really wants him to play so badly. It really seems like they will grow to be the best of friends. At least, I'm hoping so...
