Fun in Utah Part 1

As many of my friends know I went to Utah for a week and it was so fun.

I left on Wednesday the 16th to head to Utah. That day was a little crazy just from that trip. I forgot how much I really do like driving on smaller highways and not big 5 lane freeways. :) Once I got to my sister's Elizabeth house we hung out for a while and she made yummy pizza for dinner! After dinner we got the kids to bed and I stayed home while Elizabeth and Joe went running. By the time they got back it was late and so we watched The Unit together before heading to bed.

Thursday the17, was a good day, we woke up and after breakfast and once we were all ready we headed to Costco. There we were able to exchange some diapers for Kenneth and get a few other things. Then went back to their place to give the kids lunch and then once they were all down for a nap Elizabeth and I worked on a service project/craft. Those are the best type of crafts. :) Once the kids were up, and Joe got home Liz and Joe left for Las Vegas. I was then in charge of making some dinner and getting the kids all to bed, which wasn't to bad at all. Then I enjoyed catching up on some TV shows before going to bed myself.

Before Liz and Joe left Asher climbed into the pantry and found the cereal.
Friday the 18th morning we woke up and I made some breakfast for the kids. After breakfast and getting everyone dressed we went to the store to get a couple of things. That was crazy! I had 5 kids, two of which don't walk. Luckily Emily who's 6 was willing to push Kenneth around in the stroller. While I put Asher who's 13 months in the cart along with JJ who's 3 and Maddie who's 5 held onto the cart. Then when we got back it was time for lunch. They ate a good lunch and then all went down for nap. After nap Emily and I made dinner. Then we did a movie night together and watched two movies. Both Kenneth and Asher went down to bed before the movies even started. JJ only made through part of the second one. It was a fun night.

Yummy Ice Cream cones

Saturday the 19th we hung around the house, until I decided to venture out again to the store to get a couple things for Kenneth that I hoped would make him feel better, he'd been a little cranky. They did help so I don't regret that but it was crazy yet again. Luckily the 3 older kids were willing to hold onto the cart so we didn't have to bring in the stroller again. after the store we had dinner and then I let the 3 older kids watch one movie that was very cute and then off to bed they went.

Sunday the 20th, started out interesting. Both Kenneth and Asher decided to wake up screaming around 5, Kenneth will usually fall back to sleep after giving him, his binkie. No such luck this day. So I had to make him a bottle. Nothing that normally works for Asher was working to help him fall back asleep so when he was still crying after Kenneth finished his bottle I took him in with me and Kenneth on Liz and Joe's bed and we all fell asleep. JJ unfortunately 30 minutes or so later had to go to the bathroom which woke up Asher. Luckily he was able to fall back to sleep and so was I after JJ was back up in his bed. Once I woke up and gave the kids breakfast, we all got ready for church, and what I thought was going to take forever really didn't and we had to kill some time before leaving so that we wouldn't be super early. Once we got to church, we all were in primary together. I was substituting for Liz as just an extra body for her co-teacher. Then after primary was over and the lesson was over we went to Sacrament. That was the one thing I was most nervous about. Luckily the kids were all good, and Asher quickly fell asleep. Once he did Kenneth wanted held and I was able to switch the two without much fuss. A lot of people from Liz and Joe's ward came up to me asking me what I had done with my hair, I then had to inform them that I wasn't Elizabeth. Which cracked me up the number of times it happened. Liz and I both don't see how people could confuse us with each other but it happens. After church Liz and Joe's back door neighbor helped me out to the car, she was amazed that I was able to carry both Asher, Kenneth, and the diaper bag. I was so thankful that she helped because carrying them around wasn't the easiest. Once we got home, I gave the kids lunch, and then off to a nap they went. Then after nap Emily and I made some dinner for everyone. Then they went to bed. They must've known their parents would be home soon because they just wouldn't go to sleep. Once Liz and Joe did walk through the door and said goodnight, I felt relieved that I could sit back and just be the helper again when needed. Liz, Joe, and I went outside and brought in their stuff and even talked to their back door neighbors for quite a while it was fun. Afterwards we went in and talked with each other a little more before going to bed.

Mother's Day

This past weekend was pretty good. Tim, Kenneth, and I left Rexburg as soon as Tim got back from school and work and headed to Burley. Kenneth was great in the car ride over! Once we got to Burley we relaxed for a little bit before putting Kenneth to bed. Liz, Joe, and the kids got there shortly after we did so the kids were all put to bed too. Then, Joe, Liz, Tim, and I all played a game of settlers of catan together before we all went to bed.

Saturday we woke up early and after breakfast Tim, Kenneth, and I went to have family pictures taken with our friend Jayme. It was fun to take pictures with someone we knew, made it easier for me to give natural smiles then the forced weird one I tend to give. After pictures and talking for a little bit with Jayme. Tim, Kenneth, and I headed to Delco for a pioneer day event that was going on there, everyone else was already there and had been for a while. After we were done watching them do a couple things to make a wagon. We then went to get lunch where Grandpa, Ben, Sara, and their kids met up with us. After lunch we went back to mom and dad's and then Sara, Mom, Liz, and I went to a fabric store that's there in town. It had lots of different fabrics, plan to look there again when I'm allowed to buy fabric again. :) After there we went to pick up dinner and then spent the rest of the evening at mom and dad's, talking and enjoying each others company.

Sunday we woke up and had some french toast for breakfast!!! Then Grandpa, Emily, Elizabeth, and I played a couple games of dominoes together before getting ready and going to church. After church we finished getting dinner ready and got to talk with Jared via Skype! That was fun to see him. Afterwards we all had dinner together and some dessert before heading back home. It was great to see my family and spend time together.

Our Summer

This summer is going to be busy, busy.
Mine started back in April and I have been enjoying every day of sunshine that we have had with Kenneth. This month in particular is busy. We just got back from visiting my parents and siblings in Burley for Mother's Day/Mom's birthday. Wednesday the 16th I leave town for a week to go visit my sister and watch her kids while she goes to Vegas with her hubby. When I get back Tim and I will be leaving two days later to go away for memorial day weekend, either to Burley again or to my Grandpa's cabin in Placerville, Idaho.
June doesn't have any exciting plans yet, besides us going to Bill Cosby on the 8th, but I'm thinking sometime that month I'll be leaving to go spend a week or so with my parents and possibly head to Boise for a couple days to spend time with my best girlfriend Brooke.
July, be another crazy month, 4 of July, we'll either leave town for or stay in town and enjoy time with all of our friends, maybe even go camping. :) Then Tim will be getting done with school later in the month and Brittany his sister, will be graduating, which entails their parents coming to that. Which afterwards we'll either be staying here and going to a John Schmidt concert that Tim's wanting to see, or going back to Vancouver with his family to go to their family reunion.
August, will also be busy. My family Reunion is the week after Tim's so if we go to his, I'll probably be the one that goes down to mine so that he can work. Plus I'll be spending a little longer there so that I can spend some time with my brother Dean and his family that will be visiting. Then we have AJ and Katie's wedding to attend the 18th of August, which we hope to spend a couple days there just to enjoy time and not feel like we're constantly traveling. Plus Tim and I will be doing some camping trips in August the weekends we are home.

Lucky for us school doesn't start until the week after Labor Day so we'll have that weekend to enjoy together and the week as well before craziness of having us both in school and a baby starts. I love our busy life and having things to look forward to, even though I still love enjoying time at home with my son.

Reflections

Sorry this is long, but these are the thoughts going on in my life right now, from different circumstance.

Tim's brother AJ (he only has one) got engaged a couple weeks ago, to a great girl Katie or so she seems (only met her once) We're so happy for them and are so glad to be adding another Married Couple to the mix. After 2 years and a few months we're glad we will no longer be the only ones married. Although we will be the only ones with a child for a while I'm sure.

Seeing them be engaged and getting ready to attend a wedding reminds me a lot of when Tim and I got engaged and all the joy and excitement I had around that time, to be marrying my best friend. He still is my best friend and the one I tell everything too. He takes me at my best and worse times, and trust me some of the worst times I'm not so nice to be around. But still loves me and takes care of me and our son. I love that he is so willing to go to school and get an education and to work so that I can stay home with Kenneth and make sure he gets all the love and attention he needs.

I love the stage that Tim and I are at and when I look at all the fun times my single friends are having I do wonder what life would entail if Tim and I had never met. But seeing my handsome guy and getting one of his great smiles flashed my way I'm so glad we did meet and that I get the privilege to spend the rest of my life and beyond with him. Plus getting a great smile from Kenneth, when he won't smile at anyone else makes my day, and luckily I get those great smiles 100+ times a day.

I had a close friend ask me how I like being a mother and I told her, that I love it, because I really do. This is what I was meant to do. I know sounds silly but I can't imagine doing anything else with my life. I'm glad that I have the chance to be a stay at home mom and help Kenneth grow into a great man. I go to school only for the purpose of having an education for just in case I need it in the future, hoping that I never do.

I look forward to having more children to bless our lives with joy and love. I have since Kenneth was little not even 2 months old, been okay with the idea of becoming pregnant again, even though in reality we don't plan on that one for a while. I often wonder if it's Heavenly Father's way of letting me know that Kenneth is not the only baby that we'll bring into our lives. Having watched my fair share of kids, and multiple kids at that I know I can handle a few more children and will be loving every minute of it.

Life

Life lately has been great! I get to hang out with some awesome friends most days of the week which helps break up the monotony that is staying home. Don't get me wrong I love getting to spend all my time with my son. He's so cute and I love seeing his little personality grow more and more.
This week in particular has been very busy, or so it seems. Mostly because every day I have had something to do errand wise and I'm okay with that. I've never been one to stay at home all day long and be perfectly content. Even when I was little I remember walking outside my house for a while just to break up the boredom.
Although I do feel like I hardly see Tim. He leaves each morning before I'm awake, and doesn't get home until between 5:30-6:30 depending on the day, then has homework to do. So each moment we get together is precious. I'm so glad I have him in my life!

Kenneth's 4 months stats

We finally went to the doctor for Kenneth's 4 month well baby visit yesterday.
 Here are his stats
Weight: 13 lbs 5 oz (13 percentile) The Doctor thinks he'll always be like this
Height: 25.8 inches (72 percentile)
Head Circumference: 17.3 inches (83 percentile)

Kenneth is definitely long and skinny. He keeps looking like he's going to put on more weight, but never puts on a ton. We knew his head was big when we bought him a summer hat last Saturday and had to get a 12-18 month hat because all the others were to small.
