Some of you might be wondering why I am updating the blog at 6:45 on a Saturday morning. Well, my handsome and adorable son likes to get up and talk, giggle and smile. I have no idea who he gets that from! he-he...
Anyway, I took Aiden to his 4 month appointment last week. Now, let me start by saying that the Pediatrician said that it might take Aiden 2 years to catch up developmentally to full term babies (seeing as he came 10 weeks early). Well, good news! At this appointment, he weighted 13 lbs. and Dr. Hill said he is almost fully caught up! She said by 6 months, he should be caught up developmentally!! What a miracle! I am sure it's all the prayers that have been going out for him, as well as me and Mike loving all over him. Yeah!
Mike was going through his closet getting ready to go back into uniform. I guess the best place to put the baby was the suit case. Too cute!

A little update...
Mike came back from Denver and we were glad to have him back! We found out that the Secretary's detail was having a going away lunch for him last Friday. I took the baby and Jack Lynch whisked him away and carried him for awhile - really cute!
Aiden has got the cutest morning face... Just had to capture it.

The beachy bedroom makeover
For those of you who really know me, this blog should make you very happy, as it indicates that I am back to myself! Mike went to Denver with the Secretary for a week and I decided to re-arrange and re-decorate our Master Bedroom. I did it for under$200! I had such a fun time doing it. I made our headboard with plywood, foam, khaki linen and wooden buttons. I bought the wall lamps at IKEA but hated the traditional lamp shades, so I wrapped hemp around it so it looked beachy. Now it's quite a relaxing beachy room. Ahhhh.....

Lunch with some special ladies at my Pastor's house
Yesterday, February 13th, my pastor's wife (Nancy) invited me over for lunch so I could be with some ladies from church. [I have been advised from the Pediatrician not to go to church until the end of February with Aiden.] I had SUCH a nice time and even met a new friend named Dasher who has a 3 week old. We realized how weird it was that our babies would grow up in Sunday School together...
Jeanne with Aiden. She has a gentle and sweet spirit and has been such a support throughout my recovery!
Nancy holding superman. She is quite a gem and I am SO blessed to have her as my pastor's wife!
Me and my handsome!
Clara....3 weeks old and around 7 lbs. SOO precious!

Good morning smiles...
I believe Aiden is a morning person, like myself. He habitually wakes up and starts smiling. I can be totally out of it and desperately wanting more sleep, but the minute he starts smiling and giggling, I smile from ear to ear and my heart melts. He is finally smiling on his own initiative and boy is it adorable!
I tried to capture it this morning. Got the best smile off camera but got a little something...

Miracle tree removal
So, when Mike and I first got married, I began praying that we could get rid of the ugly trees in our back yard. I knew we didn't have the finances to just blow on getting rid of trees, so I left it up to God.
A year later, a wind storm took down one of the nasty ones without causing much damage. A year or so after that (last week), our electrical company came by to say they needed to get rid of our back yard trees. I was amazed. They not only were going to take them down, but they would give us a $100 voucher to buy 15 trees (replacing the ones they took down)!
So, this morning I wake up to 15 men in my backyard climbing trees like ninjas and disassembling them! What a miracle...I didn't even have to pay a penny!!!

Congragulations Mike!
Today, Mike got a phone call from the Chief of the US Park Police. He said he was looking to promote 3 people and wanted to know if he was still interested. Of course Mike was, so he will become a Lieutenant officially on March 1!
I must mention that we know God is orchestrating our lives. Mike took the 3-part promotion test during all of my traumatic surgery and recovery. We agreed that if God wanted this for him then it would work. He scored #2 out of all of them!! We were talking today and acknowledged that God has definitely ordered our steps. God allowed me to advance long enough to get to know Mike and once we got engaged, I stopped. Mike has continued to work on the Secretary's protection detail while I was at work. I resigned January 16th and am now at home. He will now be leaving the main headquarters and won't be traveling much, if at all....so he will be able to be here while Aiden grows up. Just have to give a quick shout out to God! Thanks!
As you can see, Aiden and I are so proud of daddy!!!
Here is just a little love time between Nana and Aiden during the day while Mike was at work.
