Crafty Catz DT - Santa is coming to town!

Morning all,

So Christmas is most definitely on its way, scary how fast the year has gone. Anyone else not started on their Christmas cards yet?! lol!

Well, at least this weeks challenge has forced me to make one! the lovely Nick has challenged us all to make a Christmas card with one or more Santa's on it. We are sponsored this week by the fab Mei Flowers, who are offering our lucky winner a £20 voucher!
Rambling over, on to the card!
I only have one Santa image and it's 'that' image - I have the original wooden version of this, although it has been reproduced in silicone - it is smaller however.

The image is mounted on black card, stickles around the edge. The Bingo card is a freebie I found online, the sentiment a freebie from a magazine and the papers are from this years Do-Crafts Noel collection. Ribbon and pips from stash and there we have it.

Do remember to pop by the challenge blog to say hi and see the other creations, until next time though, happy crafting!

Crafty Catz DT - Bags and Tags

Good Morning,

Another Friday closer to Christmas - seriously where has this year gone?! it's scary! but we're not quite in Christmas mode at Crafty Catz, this week Jac has set us all the challenge of Bags and/or Tags. So if you want to get ahead on Christmas gift bags or tags, feel free - but I'm still on Birthday mode at the moment; 4 more to go before Christmas!

This week we have two fab sponsors; Crafty Ribbons and Digi Stamps for Joy. They are offering our lucky winners:
and
Digistamps4Joy SHOP
5 digi's of winners choice

You lucky things! So on with my creation this week. I'm not much of a gift bag girl - all about the boxes for me, but I am really getting into tags at the moment and this is what I came up with:

I used two embossed and slightly glittered cardstock pieces and cut them to 1.5cm wide and wove them. I then glued the whole thing onto a kraft card backing and using my trusty template, drew and cut out the overall shape (yes, it is the same shape as the tags I made a couple of weeks ago). I then glued down the loose ends on the top.

The sentiment is from Digi Stamps for Joy, which I cut out using my nestie dies, sprayed with shimmer mist and edged with Sahara calk ink. The roses are Marianne D dies and the leaf punch is woodware. I dusted the top of the roses with Rose Blush chalk ink and cut the leaves from scraps of paper. I layered the whole thing up and added some organza ribbon for the loop.

So there we go, I was really pleased with how this turned out - in fact I'm a tad reluctant to part with it! lol! Don't forget to pop by Crafty Catz to see the rest of the girls fab creations and do come play with us.

Until next time - happy crafting!

Crafty Catz DT - Anything But Square

Hi everyone,

Another Friday is here - goodness me, where has the time gone?! well last weekend was the Church Fundraiser and although footfall was down we still managed to make just under £1000 on the craft stall (not all made by Mum and Me I hasten to add!). So onwards with my fundraiser this weekend..... which fits neatly in with this weeks challenge at Crafty Catz which has been set by the wonderful Christine - which is 'Anything but Square'.

We are sponsored this week by Alota who are offering our lucky winners a $15 voucher:

So, my project this week is all about decking the halls:

Christmas Baubles! I'm sure everyone has seen or made these or something similar in the past. I used the second largest bauble die from spellbinders and used up papers from Do-crafts Christmas Noel collection. on the bottom I added a pearl and a crystal dropper. On the top I added a crystal and then a jewellery finding to top it off.

There are 8 sections to these baubles and I glued everything using wet glue as I found it stuck better than anything else. It's all strung on extra strong white cotton.

So there we go, do stop by the blog this week to see some amazing creations by the rest of the team and until next time, happy crafting!

Crafty Catz DT - Photo Inspiration

Good Morning one and all,

Friday is here again and that means another challenge at Crafty Catz. This weeks challenge has been set by the lovely Linda who is giving everyone a photo inspiration to work from:
We are sponsored this week by the fabulous Krista of Saturated Canary who is offering our lucky winner 2 images of their choice:

As she's so lovely, Krista also gave the DT free pick of any image in her shop to play with this week and I just had to have Sketchie!
So, I coloured her with promarkers and cut her out using my nesties. The papers are all mixed oddments from left over from other projects and come from an echo park pad. The sentiment is a chipboard freebie from a magazine and the buttons and ribbon are from stash.

So there we go. I hope you like it. I'm currently snowed under making things for two craft stalls, this weekend and next - one's for charity the other for profit so forgive me for lack of communication - I'm spending more time attached to the sowing machine and my glue gun then the laptop.

Anyway, hope you have a lovely weekend and until next, happy crafting!

Crafty Catz DT - Paper Piecing

Good Morning Everyone!

Did we all survive the bad weather? everyone's craft supplies intact? good!

So this weeks challenge has been set by Nina, who has challenged everyone to Paper Piecing. We are sponsored this week by the gems over at Digi Darla who are offering our lucky winner 5 digi's of their choice.

So on with my card this week:
The papers are all from Do-crafts, a paper doily, sentiment printed onto pattern paper and the image coloured with promarkers. Everything was dusted on the edges with tim holtz ink and the button is an old one from my stash.

So there we go, there are some seriously stunning creations by the rest of the team so do pop by the blog. Until next time - happy crafting!
