Rob and Taylor's Wedding

Saturday night was Rob and Taylor's wedding just outside of Mineral Wells. We took a party bus with Nick's high school friend group that left at 3:00 Saturday afternoon and didn't get back until after 1:00 on Sunday morning. I was pretty anxious about being gone that long with that crew and not easily having a way to come home. But I spent most of the time with Jenna and Vicki and enjoyed seeing some old college friends, and it really was a fun time and a beautiful wedding.
The party bus. We had fun and things were a lot more tame on the way to Mineral Wells than on the way home.

The Carroll High School classes of the late 90's and early 00's and the rest of us.

All week Vicki and I have been texting about how far it was to the wedding and making various jokes and references to The Oregon Trail. You can only imagine our absolute delight when we pulled up to the ranch after two White Claws and saw an actual Oregon Trail scenario. You're not gonna not take pictures. I mean... maybe if you're an upstanding adult you walk right past it, but we clearly are not.

Stoking the fire of Rob and Taylor's love. We both watched 1883 religiously, so we know what we're doing here.

I always enjoy Vicki. She's funny and fun and so laid back. If we aren't zipping down The Riverwalk in San Antonio on scooters, you can find us on The Oregon Trail. Or at the Grapevine foot spa we have affectionately named The Grapevine Four Seasons.

Bethany & Isaac- always love catching up with them

I had the most handsome date on the ranch!
So happy for Rob and Taylor! They seemed so excited and joyful and really had a beautiful celebration.
It was an interesting mix of Carroll HS people Nick grew up with and people I went to college with. It was fun seeing the Squillantes and the Waldrops all grown up.
Never without shenanigans. The guys all thought Mike Heldoorn was going to get beat up, but thankfully he did not.

Late night there was a Blair Witch Project video Vicki and I made walking back to the bus, rumors of a stolen table cloth that I never saw but heard about because the bus was flooding (from a glass of champagne), some bread and butter Vicki stuck in her purse and a candy and restroom stop at QT.
It really was a lot of fun! I'm so glad we were there to celebrate Rob and Taylor. None of us no how to act like actual adults at weddings because we never go to them anymore, so I guess we just revert back to acting like we did in our mid-twenties. When there's a covered wagon, old friends and lots of booze- they really leave you no option.

Everett's Family Birthday

On Friday night we went with the Allshouse crew and Al & Teri to celebrate Everett's birthday. It was such a fun night, and I think Everett loved it. We started with pizza at Palio's Pizzas.
Everett and Grammy baked his chocolate pies (birthday dessert request), which made it pretty special!

This George Kittle jersey is changing Everett's life. He's barely taken it off since he got it. He also good a cool gaming chair from Deed and Chris that he loves!

These two are the sweetest together

The Gaylord variety show was very entertaining and full of talent. As Chris, Nick and Al said: there was a little something for everybody. And I'll just leave it at that.

Spring Break 2022: Failure To Launch Edition

Anxiety looks like...

And going into the office (the day before St. Patrick's Day) in my correct shade of green looks like...

Logan likes being my color police.

We had a low key spring break this year. The boys went to camp at The Athlete Monday- Wednesday from 9-2. I worked, ran errands, went to an appointment... But we squeezed in some fun stuff too!

On Tuesday night we took the boys to a Dragon baseball game. Endless cotton candy and bubble gum was consumed.

On Wednesday night we went to a kids escape room at The Gaylord that we didn't escape from! Followed by hibatchi, which is the height of luxury for the Salomone trio. They love nothing more than a fancy hibatchi meal.

Thursday was St. Patrick's Day, and although Beck didn't catch a leprechaun in his trap, he did find some gold. The boys and I went to Chic Fil A for lunch and we ran into Colin and Cameron eating there at the exact same time! This turned into a playdate for Everett and Beck, which they were thrilled about!

Cameron is so good for these boys!
Logan ran a few errands with me and then decorated the table for dinner and made a fruit pizza for dessert. My mom came over for Teri's delicious corned beef St. Patrick's Day dinner.

On Friday we took Lolly to the vet for a check up (she got a lepto shot and felt awful, which made me so sad). Then the boys wanted Chic Fil A round two and we stopped by Barnes & Noble and they each picked out some books.

Friday night we went to The Gaylord spring variety show for Everett's birthday, Saturday was Rob and Taylor's wedding, Sunday we packed up the upstairs and took the boys to Bicentennial to play while Everett was at Santi's birthday. And Monday, Beck and I were back in the carline picking up the boys from school. Spring Break came and went in the blink of an eye!

Life at 1501 continues to be best case scenario. We are so, so, so lucky to be living in the comfort of Al and Teri's house and making such special memories. We're lucky they haven't run us off yet. The five of us are enjoying our time here so much. I didn't realize how stressed an anxious I was living in the mess and noise and chaos of the apartment situation. Also, I don't know what I'll do when we move home and don't have Al as my morning coffee buddy anymore. I know what Al will do, and that's have a sigh of relief that he can watch the news and read his newspaper in silence.

It's a fine line. If we get any more comfortable here, this might turn into a failure to launch situation.
