Back from the WCT

We did it! We survived the West Coast Trail. We planned to hike it in 7 days and actually ended up hiking it in 5 days. Everyone survived with out any major complications or accidents. It was the most difficult thing I have ever done both mentally and physically. Here are just a couple pictures. I am waiting for Brad & Ramsey's pictures to be sent to me before I put together a master list.
We had views like this the entire way of the trip!

One of our campsites. We had a chance to hang out some gear and dry it out.

Our 62" plasma t.v. View from our tent at Tusiat Falls. What an incredible place to kick back and relax.

This is us celebrating at the highest point of the trail.

There was waterfalls like this scattered along the trail. The camera can't capture even a fraction of how incredible they were.

Ladders, ladders and more ladders!

Me hitch hiking home. We were able to catch a fishing boat, 2 different truck rides and then a city bus to make our way back to Victoria. It was all part of the experience that made this trip one to never forget.

Mouth Full of Dirt

Yesterday I went quading with Trevor, Parker Steele, and Dwayne Nielson. We went out to the Waiporous area and headed out towards the mountains. It was awesome! I have gone motorbiking, snowmobiling and quading around the yard, but I have never done anything like this before. We had a blast!!!! I rode behind Parker for a lot of the trail and he loved to kick up as much dirt as he could. I am still trying to get the dirt out of my eyes, mouth and nose.
Left to Right: Parker, Dave, Dwayne, Trevor's quad ( he took the picture ). This was the start of the trail for us. We parked here and then headed off to the mountains.
Parker ripping it up in one of the many streams we had to cross. The kids a maniac!

I think Parker soaked up the most water. He didn't have a dry part on him.

Trev crossing a stream. As you can see below he was soaked from head to toe and still loving ever second of it. Dwayne said that last week this waterfall was raging! The scenery was amazing....mountains, waterfalls, beautiful creaks/rivers. I believe the round trip was around 28km's. Just long enough to ware me out for the evening.
Me crossing one of the many creeks. It was a good way to test out my boots for the West Coast Trail coming up this Friday. The waterproofing worked on the boots, can't say the same for my pants and shirt. This was a river bed that was flowing with 2-3 feet of water the week before. Dwayne had crossed it last week and was totally amazed that there was no water to be found.

I am sure this will be a continuing theme. We all had an amazing time and agreed to come back out and hit some different trails. Good times had by all.
