Mr. Ty Puddin' Pie!

This experience gave me a good long laugh! Ty was being so cranky all day, probably because he's getting a tooth and wasn't feeling well, so I made some vanilla pudding (which he had never tasted) and put him in his high chair with a blob of it in a bowl. He just couldn't get enough of it!! And the pudding was everywhere, but I didn't care! He was happy for once that day, and I laughed for the first time that day!!

In honor of BOPA

The first time I met Tim's Grandpa "Bopa" was in Grace, Idaho, in August of 2005. We were waiting for the Caribou County Fair parade to begin, and we crossed the street to meet up with Tim's family and for me to meet Bopa for the first time. Tim and I had been dating for about 2 months and he invited me to go with his family on their annual trip to Lava. I had heard so much about Tim's Grandpa, and it was great to finally meet him! The first thing he said to Tim was "you ought to be an umpire, because you've got a good eye!" And, although I've heard him say that to other family members since, in reference to their significant other, he still earned a special place in my heart that day :) .
One thing that always impressed me about Bopa was his attention and interest that he gave to his grandkids and family members. Even after Tim and I were married, Bopa would call Timmy most days just to check in and say hi, and see how he was doing. This was just a continuation of how he used to call his grandkids everyday that he could, from the time they were little.
A Bopa-ism that Tim and I always quote and laugh about is "A dull knife is an abomination". Bopa always carved the Turkey at Thanksgiving, and brought his own knife too!
Bopa passed away on June 5, in his own home, in his sleep. He looked so peaceful, which helps my heart. Whenever thinking about him now I get those real, physical, pangs in my heart. It's amazing that 'heartache' is truly a pain, like when you stub your toe or sprain an ankle. It's a physical pain! But I am comforted in the fact that he is reunited with his wife, and with his son, and that he was able to live on his own until he passed.
I am so grateful for the wonderful man he is, for his example to his family on what is most important in life. We miss you Bopa!

Memorial Day Weekend

We went up to Montpelier, Idaho, on Sunday for the annual pilgrimage to the graves of Tim's Grandma "Ye Ye", Uncle Cubby, and his Gr-grandparents and Great Aunt. Even though we could only stay the day, we had a good time visiting with Lee and Brenda's family, Bopa, and his sister Donna, and Tim's parents. Ty saw Bear Lake for the first time, even though he was more interested in the cars travelling by than he was in the lake! I like the picture of Bopa wearing Ben's Weber State hoodie at the cemetery because it was a little cold! I'm glad we got to go up there. It's a good tradition.

Ty is learning to enjoy the great outdoors (or even just the front and backyards)

Go MudHoneys!!

These are my #1 Fans! They are so diligent, coming every Monday night to cheer us on (they also listen to me whine the rest of the week about how sore I am from the games) !
