Spring has Sprung

Well spring has finally come and it is almost over. We have managed to get this far into the spring without having to turn on our A/C, but I am sure that it is coming soon. We upgraded our insulation and got the rebates that made it practically a deal at the door. So that has made things nice, lets hope it still does well this summer. We have had a lot of fun in our backyard this spring, including planting our vegetable garden, scooping out our rocks and adding a few flagstone pathways, adding an herb garden and strawberries. Hopefully they continue to do well this summer. The KIDS (Todd included) love to play baseball. Austin has proved himself to be quite the little player, and loves to practice his batting. Meanwhile, Alayna has gotten down how to peddle that tricycle of hers.

Our Uncle Kurt was coming home from his mission, so for family home evenings for 2 weeks in a row we talked about missions and missionary work. We had the kids dress up like missionaries and gave them name tags (leftover from us being ward missionaries) and had them teach us out of the Book of Mormon. They had a blast!

We gathered at the Airport, on May 19th, to meet Kurt and we had a great turn out, he had many friends and neighbors come to greet him. He even had the pilot play a prank and start putting the ramp away, acting like our missionaries weren't on the flight. But he is home now and the kids have grown so much since he has seen them. They even made great signs for the occasion.

We usually make a weekly trip over to the church parking lot to ride bikes and tricycles. They love doing this, and we even brought our neighbor friend, Gunner. They had a blast racing down the hill and playing in the drain.

Austin is Finally 4! He has been talking about it for months now. He was so excited for his birthday, but I couldn't really get anything out of him, gift wise. He would just come up with something random, like a batman pencil, batman toy, batman etc. I knew that he wanted a batman cake so I tried my best to accomplish that. We had his first birthday party, and had water fights in the backyard, with a pool and slip "n slide. They had a lot of fun after the wind died down a little and it wasnt' so cold. It was my dad's birthday too, so we had dinner at their house and shared the cake! He really had a lot of fun. He told me this morning that he wanted another birthday party again today.

Will this ever end?

I have just about had it. The last few weeks have been a blur, and if it hadn't been for all the wonderful people around me, I don't know if my kids would have survived. So just a thank you to all who watched my kids or brought over a meal, it seriously made the biggest difference.

For those of you who I haven't talked to in the last few weeks. I have been sick with who knows what for the past 2 weeks, I caught it the day before Easter and it is still hanging on. First they said it was Walking Pneumonia, and then Bronchitis. But I had fevers for over a week and a half ranging between 101-103. For the first week plus, they never broke, just went down a bit with some medicine. To top it all off, Todd had to leave on a business trip, So I ended up staying at my parents house for three days. Thank heavens for moms, she seriously saved me and the kids from total disaster. I have had two different antibiotics and now I am starting to feel human again. So if anyone knows what this is, let me know so I can fill in the Docs since they don't know. I am still coughing, taking ibuprofen to keep down aches and low fevers, and have the "bubbles" as I call them (a weird popping sound, that sounds like froth or bubbles popping in the back of my throat or airway) they are driving me nuts and cause a constant tickle. Boy I can't wait till I can breathe again, and run, bike too. Dang I am missing spring!

Call Me Silly

I used to pride myself on never shedding a tear. And of course not over a book or movie, something silly like that. Having kids has changed my life dramatically, and when I say drama I mean it. We checked out this book a few weeks ago from the library. We had read another one of her books that Austin loved, "Thunder Cake" so we decided to try this one. I had no idea of what to expect, but it was a good book. A little bit longer that I would have expected but Austin sat through the whole thing, everytime. And of course by the end I was crying everytime! It is a good one, try it out. Any book recommendations for me?
