Trying to sum up summer in one blog post.

I have been a terrible blogger. We are still here, just very busy! We have had a stressful and busy summer, but still managed to enjoy ourselves once in awhile. :) We bought a house. An old ugly house that has good bones and is in a great location, but needs a heck of a lot of work. The purchase of this house was a bit dramatic, (at one point we thought it wasn't going to go through, then the owner passed away right before we closed) but we finally signed the papers and now it's ours. We have hired a contractor to do most of the work. This is killing Trent, but he has been wise enough to realize that he doesn't have time to remodel and entire house and keep his wife and toddler happy. ;) Construction should start this week and we are hoping we can move in to at least one floor before the end of September.

During all of this house buying craziness I also got a new job! I just started working as a dosimetrist at Kaiser Permanente in Portland. They hired me as on-call, starting with eight weeks of full time for training. After that I will possibly transition to part time. I'm only in my second week, but right now I love it. My new co-workers are all friendly and welcoming and the clinic is busy. I'll learn a lot!

In between getting a job and buying a house, we have finally been settling in to living in Washington. It's taken awhile, but we're making friends and feel like we actually live here now. We have also had Utah and Idaho friends visit, gone on a few camping trips and visited Utah for a few days. It's been a busy summer and we're excited to move into our new house soon and settle in even more.

The Quinley family met in Portland for a family reunion. My parents, sister and my dad's two brothers and their wives all flew in from Idaho, California and North Carolina. It was so much fun to have the family together!

More camping!
