Week in Review

It has been a pretty funny week this week, although with Elaina, most days are pretty funny.

Jocie took Elaina to the playgroup that our ward has on Monday mornings and here is a picture from that outing. Who knew that Elaina could find the only living dinosaur, let alone ride it like a horse.

We also bought Elaina new shoes and she decided to dance on the table with her new shoes while watching the Cincinnati Bengals preseason football game.


Last night we played outside behind our apartment and Elaina and I played a ball game where she would throw the ball at me and then run away and I would try to hit her with the ball as she would run away. Fortunately we were recording and got the only one where she fell down. It was pretty funny.



Today Jocie had the day off and I don't start school until the 5th of September and so we took Elaina to the park. Here are some video's from our outing. The first one is Elaina on the swing, it is probably her most favorite part of the park. The second is of her on a spinning toy and she gets really dizzy afterward and she can't stand up.

Champions

Today was the annual stake softball tournament for the Dayton Ohio East Stake and as a result we hauled the family out to the softball diamonds in Fairborn Ohio bright and early at 9am. The tounament was a double elimination tournament. The men's team was a rag tag group that just showed up for a practice the Tuesday before the tournament, but the women had been having regular practices on Tuesday nights for the past couple months.
The women's team played only a couple of games as the rest of the wards in the stake didn't have enough women players to field any teams, so it was the Beavercreek ward versus the rest of the stake. They are pretty good and played really well. Jocie had a lot of fun.
The men's team won it's first game handily and then we also won our second and third games, which we squeaked out in the last inning. As a result we had to wait from 12 to 3:15 to play in the championship game. We got a really nice break and were able to eat some lunch and relax, as you can see that Jocie and Elaina are pretty good at eating lunch and relaxing, although it was nice to have the family there to cheer me and our team on. The last game for the Championship was pretty close. It was back and forth quite a bit but we finally pulled it out and won by 5. It was a really fun day although a bit long. Elaina had a blast playing in the dirt and with her cousins, and Jocie and I had a really good time as well.

Funny Morning

I finished my last summer class yesterday and so I have 2 weeks until I start school again. My 20 minute trace DNA evidence presentation for this last class went really well so I was happy about that. Now that I have 2 weeks off, I will spend my mornings watching Elaina while Jocie goes to work.

Most days are pretty normal, but this morning was especially funny. For the life of me I couldn't figure out what Elaina wanted for breakfast. I can usually make out the words that she says, but today she was saying something that I coudn't understand. I finally just opened the fridge and decided that she could pick what she wanted to eat. She climbed in the fridge and pulled out some watermelon. I figured that if she was happy then whatever she wanted to eat for breakfast was great (one of the perks of being the dad), as long as she didn't get too dirty. I put a giant bib on her and she went to town.

Elaina loves shoes. I think that she is liker her mom and has a shoe fetish. Hopfully she will grow out of this phase or we will be in troube when she is a teenager. She loves to wear shoes!! There was one evening where Rob and Karen came over and she decided to wear Rob's shoes. It is even more funny when she gets them on the wrong feet.



I have also decided that there is a relationship between the shoe size and the quantity of funny things that may occur. Usually it is the most funny when she decides to wear my shoes or sandals (they are the biggest).

To continue the story of our adventures earlier this morning, once she was done with her watermelon and after a lot of cleanup she climbed down from her chair and put on Jocie's sandals. She has been been doing this for for about 2-3 weeks but we haven't gotten any video of it. I figured that you guys would like to see it. I hope that you like it, although it is of Elaina so I don't know what there wouldn't be to like about it.

Now for the story, last night Elaina got into her old clothes drawer and found the bottoms to her old Easter dress and put them on herself, I don't know anyone that doesn't like pastel polka dots. Then later that night she got into Jocie's drawer and wanted to put on a pair of her socks. Elaina played in them all evening and she didn't want them taken off when it was time for bed so those were her pajamas for the night. The video was taken this morning after she woke up. Enjoy.

I just created a youtube account and I am planning on getting some video's put on there so you can see what we are up to. Hopfully I can get it working and provide you guys with some links to the video's I have uploaded. The first one I am trying is a picture slideshow that I put together from our Hawaii Trip.

New Pictures

We were just testing the limits of the pictures that we uploaded but we thought these ones were pretty funny. In the first one She looks like a hippie!!

Well we just set this up, that way we can hopefully share pictures of Elaina and our escapades with you guys. Hopefully we can get some current pictures up soon.
