I bought the yarn and needles at Iris' Yarn Shop in Wisconsin in 2007. I carried it with me everywhere I went. I worked on it in front of Purl in Soho with my friend Shannon. I forgot my needles at her house in New Jersey and they have since moved with her to California. So, I guess the needles have just as much travel time as the yarn. After NYC, the yarn and I went to DC. We worked together in front of the Washington Monument. The yarn has been to PA, Maryland, and Florida and everywhere in between. The yarn has kept me occupied in dental offices and doctor's offices. And tonight, the finishing touches came in our little home in the hills of WV.
Every time I look at this scarf I am overwhelmed with feelings. I think of each friend who was there...from the beginning when I bought the yarn...through all of the travels and ending tonight with my Best Friend holding the end of the yarn and cheering me on....my hubby.
