[31 Dec 2001|10:04pm]
Let's see if we can scrounge up some of these resolutions everyone is so fond of...

1. Try--seriously try--to like myself better.
2. Ask for help once in a while.
3. Get a job, keep it, and save the money.
4. Try to change things that I don't like instead of merely bitching about them.
5. Make more time for myself.
6. Treat myself better in general.
7. Read more--make it a priority.
8. Go out once in a while, even if it means sitting alone and watching everyone else.
9. Write more.
10.Nine is plenty. Only because I don't have another one.

Well...this is my last entry for 2001. Hugs and kisses to all of you, and I hope you all have a safe/fun/happy new year.

Thanks for the great card, plummy!

It's been a long day, it seems. I went to the library and Salvation Army today, then to the car lot to pick up the title for my car, then to the video store for an application, then to the bank where my dad works...all before 1 pm (alright, so I did sleep until nearly 9). Then I had to come home and do laundry and such. I was attempting to clean and organize my room, and ended up sitting on the floor getting sentimental over a box of photos and cards and such for an hour or so (but hey--they're organized, dammit). At the library, I picked up a book about Scientology, a religion which makes very little sense to me and a Margaret Atwood book which was suggested to me. At Salvation Army I bought a black ribbed turtleneck sweater, a longish red cardigan/duster, and a tie-dyed Allman Brothers t-shirt; while I was there I followed (okay...stalked) this really hot guy with spiky blonde hair.

And now, for your viewing pleasure, some more cheesy quizzes I can't help but take.

Today we went shopping...pleasant, only not. People were everywhere, not much that I cared for, etc. I can think of more things that I need from Wal-Mart and thrift stores than from anywhere else. I think most of my money is going towards basic stuff that I can use rather than crap...I did buy more Penguin mints today. The only place I can find them is Hot Topic. Yay!

Tomorrow we're going to the thrift stores in the area, and then I'm going to go apply for a job at the library.

Ah, I did forget something: Heather got me three bad-ass candles and yummy incense.

And though it wasn't for Christmas, Mamaw gave me the records she had. She let me take the ones I liked. Dad bought the Cheech and Chong Wedding Album when he was in high school, and she took it away from him...and now she let me have it, yay! I also got Cher, Steve Martin, a super hits one...fun stuff.

Mewwy Twistmas! [25 Dec 2001|07:19pm]
Christmas is always ever-so-interesting in this family.

Christmas Eve, we went to my Grandma's for lunch. My crazy uncle brough Bacardi and Grand Marnier...I think I mixed the Grand with about everything in the house. Coffee, Sprite, more Grand...it was gooood. So we ate, drank, and we were merry. Yay.

So we went to Mamaw's for supper. So we ate, drank, and were some more merry. She made me good vegetarian chili and it was very very wonderful. Yay again.

Then we came home and went to bed. We were up at 5:30 this morning opening presents (I was the last one up, and made a beeline to the bathroom before the X-mas tree--am I getting old?).

We went back to Mamaw's for lunch today. Everyone came today, it was fun: Bob, Stacy, Brooke, Kyla, Cathy, Shawn, Jacob, Rachel, Kelly, Alysen, Richard, Mamaw, Papaw, Dad, Mom, Aunt Darlene, Uncle Tom, Wes, Phil, Megan, Kevin, and me. (We were missing Jeff, Brandon, Ryan, Cherly, Brock, Rebecca, Hannah, Steven, and Julie). Lotsa people. Craziness. It's so nice to see Kelly and Alysen and their hubbies (well, one's a hubby-to-be) and Uncle Richard...nice to see everyone.

Kelly is so damn funny. The end.

Dyed the hairs tonight. They're now auburn, yippee! I needed a change from the burgundy (so what if it wasn't a big one?). My mother told me not to do it before X-mas because she didn't want it turning green or something.

Bwahaha! Love this... [22 Dec 2001|07:16pm]
A Vicious Christmas

`Twas the night before New Years, when everyone's drunk
Not a rocker was stirring, not even a punk;
The Baggies were hung by the phono with care,
In hopes that Saint Vicious, yes Sid, would be there.
There Ramones were sold out, so we stayed in our sheds,
While visions of slammers still danced in our heads.
Susie with hash pipe and I, dressed in black,
Had just setteled down for a long-playing track.
When out in the alley there arose such a clatter,
I crawled from the couch to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I lurched with a crash,
Tearing a poster I'd had from the Clash.
The strobe light, the acid, the new snorted snow,
Gave a lustre of Day-Glo to the objects below.
When what to my unfocused eyes should appear,
But a miniature stage, and a band I could hear.
With a singer who danced; by the Pogo he did
I knew in an instant it must be Saint Sid.
More rapid than Springsteen, their rhythm it came.
And he snarled, and shouted, and called them by name:
``Now Strummer! Biafra! Now Joey Ramone!
On Bators! On Patti! On Cook and on Jones!
To the top of the amps, kick over the wall!!!
Now ANARCHY, ANARCHY, ANARCHY ALL!!''
As punks that before a concert got high,
When they all started to Pogo, mount to the sky.
So up to the window, the rockers they flew,
With powerful speakers, and Saint Vicious too.
And then in a twinkling I heard on the trunk,
The swearing and cursing of each famous punk.
As I drew on my pipe and was turning around,
Down the vent shaft, Saint Vicious, he came with a bound.
He was dressed in black from his head to his foot,
And a chain ran from his shoulder that was tarnished with soot,
A black leather jacket was flung over his back,
And he looked like a heretic freed from the rack.
His eyes, how they flashed, his smile, how merry!
He staggered right in, his breath smelled of sherry,
His darkly blue hair was drawn up in a spike,
And the rest of the punks were attired alike.
A portable mike he held tight in his hand,
``Holiday in the Sun'' issued forth from the band.
To be followed by ``Anarchy in the U.K.''
``God Save the Queen,'' ``EMI,'' and ``My Way.''
The band played so loud the albums fell from my shelf,
And I gasped when I saw him in spite of myself.
A wink from his eye, and some dope for my head,
Soon came me to know I should Pogo instead.
He spoke but a word, and that was ``ANARCHY''
And gave us all tickets and hash for the day!
Then putting white powder inside of his nose,
And spitting it out, he said: ``Fuck all discos!''
He sprang to his stage to the band gave a shout,
And away they all jammed till Saint Vicious passed out.
But I heard him exclaim, with the last of his might,

``SCORCHING PUNK ROCK TO ALL, AND TOO AWFUL GOOD NIGHT!!!''

(gleefully borrowed from sparkleysuns)

Tonight is the Christmas dance at school...yuck. Heather always tries to get me to go to these things, but I just don't like dances. I actually like getting dressed up sometimes...but I always feel so...out of place. I could be content to sit and watch everyone else, but then I run across the problem of everyone asking me what's wrong...I hate that.

So I survived the week, when I was sure I wouldn't. Go me. Here's how the finals went:

Pre-Calc: 80/88
German III: 92/93
English: not sure
Art: no final
Psych: I'm sure it's an A.
Chemistry: 98/100
U.S. History: I was exempt.

Only two more days. Only two...twooo...two. Oh god. That's two, which is more than one...I just want Christmas to come.

Everything has made me cry the past two days. I'm losing extra hairs (stress makes me shed--weird). I need to scream. Ack.

My dad got in a little fender bender this evening...well...more than that, seeing as how the entire side of his truck is fucked. Driver's side door, the panel right behind the door, and the whole left side of the bed...ouch. The wheels might be bent too. It happened like 50 feet from the damn driveway...we live on a hill, and therefore you've got to come up a hill on either side, and the road is narrow, gravel, and has deep ditches. It was the other guy's fault because he didn't get over like he should have, but he was very nice about it and apologized profusely.... Two wrecks in one year (my mom had one in April)...arg. But everyone's okay, and that's what matters.

[ mood | depressed ]
[ music | "Disarm"-Smashing Pumpkins (in my head) ]

Today...was no fun.

I woke up this morning and didn't feel right. Sort of pissy and depressed. And, to the delight of everyone I know, the mood hung around for the rest of the day. Adam pissed me off fourth period--I don't know if it was just me reacting to something I wouldn't normally react to, or if he was just being an asshole, or what--but I was so mad at him. And it carried through to lunch. I've never been mad at him before. Annoyed, but never mad. So all day, I tiptoed the line between the verge of tears and wanting to hit someone really hard.

So then, during fifth period (Psychology), we were talking ("learning") about panic attacks. Thinking about them is a trigger for me--if that thought comes into my head, it brings one on. And I know this, I'm conscious of this, and it still happens. It's like...like I always fear it happening again, and then it does. So he's up there talking about them, writing notes on the board, and people are asking strange questions about them ("Is it like a nervous breakdown? Can you have a stroke from one?")...and I get that weird feeling in my chest, kind of like I'm smothering, and I get nauseous...ugh. But once this happens, even after the attack itself has subsided, I feel anxious and strange for a couple of hours. I was literally counting down the minutes seventh period until I could get outside into the fresh air.

So I came home, and watched Natural Born Killers for the first time. I'm not quite finished with it yet...very good thus far.

We saw Harry Potter this afternoon...okay, minus the first twenty minutes. We had forgotten about the time difference (damn Southern Indiana--no one's on the same time), and thought we were 40 minutes early when in fact we were 20 minutes late.

The movie was good. I haven't read the books so I don't really have anything to compare it to, but it was imaginative and...just good.

I had entirely too much time on my hands earlier, and decided to try something: I synchronized the movie Fantasia with the Smashing Pumpkins cds Siamese Dream and the first one from Mellon Collie.... It. Is. Amazing. I was skeptical at first, but it was very...coordinated.

I'd read about this on the internet a while back, but I didn't have Siamese Dream until today. Synchronicity's a fun fun thing.

Oh, if anyone else wants to try it, here
are the instructions for setup.
