I got to go to my grandma's house, how exciting! Most of the night was spent looking at old pictures from the 50's...

You are longing for some love and affection at this time ... not that you have been deprived of tender loving care ... but there are times when everyone needs to try something new or to go "somewhere" else to perhaps experience that little extra "understanding" ...

Everything seems to be going against you at this time .. Try as you may - you are meeting with considerable resistance at every turn. Nothing is going as you would plan. The situation is difficult and you are trying to persist in your objectives against resistance. It would appear that you are being very secretive about your future plans just in case people around you try to thwart you.

Matters are not progressing as well as you would have hoped and you are having to make concessions but you still believe that your goals are realistic - it's just that people can't seem to see your point of view. You know what you want but you'll only accept suggestions under duress.

There is considerable amount of stress present in your life at this time and this is perhaps due to some considerable mental and physical frustration... There are various physical needs that are necessary for your well-being ... but whatever the reasons .. mostly of your own making.. your needs are not being fulfilled .. We wonder why?You are under the impression that nobody seems to care for you. This predicament is most uncomfortable and it is because of this that you are experiencing far more stress than you feel you can cope with. You need to find a soul mate. Someone who truly understands you and whose standards are as high as your own. As matters stand you would like to break away from the vicious cycle that you find yourself entrapped ... but this is easier said than done. You refuse to compromise with your opinions and essentially you are unable to resolve the situation because you are continually postponing the making of the necessary decision. You are stubborn ... but this should be no deterrent experiencing a happy life .. You want to be liked for yourself .. for the way you are. ..

You are worn out - suffering from what has been described as "burnout" and nothing seems to stimulate you to break away from this state of lethargy. This situation is causing an acute distress situation and not being able immediately to resolve the problems is exposing you to excess stress and tension. You are endeavouring to break away from this situation by withdrawing into a state of "Never Never Land" - an illusory substitute world in which things could be as you would like them to be ... Now is the time to take time-out ... To relax .. a short break is all that you need and you will find that matters will resolve themselves.....

How depressing...

I've been so pissy/touchy lately... I keep snapping at people and I'm not sure why. I think my grades are dropping because of the computer and the phone. It looks like I'll have to limit my use on both. Chemistry is heck and it's only going to get worse. I'm going to do all the problems in the book tonight because I have a stupid test tomorrow.

I also realized I only have 1 friend outside of the THHS gang/Amanda. >.< How depressing... I mean it's not like I'd WANT to be friends with people from my old school, it's just that I feel so blah about it. Everyone has all these friends outside of school and I only have one. I hardly even talk to her.

You were Adalita Srsen in a past life! Music is in your blood and you love nothing more than to be onstage in a small club with an appreciative crowd pumping out music in true punk-rock style. You love supporting causes you feel strongly about, which reflects in your songwriting. You also have a huge soft spot for our furry friends!

9:35 pm - The MPAA sucks
There's a new movie that just came out, and maybe some of you have heard of it and maybe some of you haven't, but it's called L.I.E. (yes, as in the Long Island Expressway) Here's a story synopsis:

The Long Island Expressway, the highway that traverses suburban Long Island with its "lanes moving east, lanes moving west, and lanes that go straight to hell" serves as the central metaphor in this disturbing meditation on coming of age and teenage vulnerability. Howie Blitzer (Brian Cox) is a sensitive fifteen-year-old who runs with a rough crowd. The recent death of his mother (in a car accident on exit 52 of the L.I.E.) and his father's indifference to it, have left him floating in a world bubbling over with sex, violence, and danger. When his best friend Gary convinces Howie to burglarize the house of their neighbor, 60-year-old Big John, the tenuous balance of their teenage existence is entirely thrown off. To make matters even worse, Howie's father is arrested over a bad business deal. Howie is left dangling, and only Big John seems to care. A harrowing mixture of tenderness and perversion electrifies the father-son relationship that forms between Howie and Big John. Director Michael Cuesta's touching vision of domestic life in modern-day suburbia is at once humorous and unnerving as it boldly charts one boy's convoluded path through adolescence.

Doesn't seem that bad right? Guess what rating the MPAA gave it. NC-17. Yup. There isn't one graphic sex scene in the movie. Just talking. The dialogue must be too hard for teenagers to handle. Apparrently the whole pedophile thing justifies the rating. But what about "The General's Daughter" which had rape fantasies? Or "Hollow Man," which had a few rape scenes? Or even "Boys Don't Cry" which also has a graphic rape scene? Ya know what they were rated? R. Does this make any sense? And the thing is... my mom can't even take me to go see L.I.E. because I'm not even allowed INTO the theater! So, I have to wait the four months to rent it.

Do you guys even care? Didn't think so @_@

While cruising the stores I noticed all the cool trenchcoats in Old Navy ^^ I don't look good in a trenchcoat though... *sigh*

There were no cool volunteers to hang out with today. So my friend and I sat in her dad's office making phone calls and playing cards for about five hours. The patients were all sleeping or being occupied by other volunteers. They didn't even open the playroom for the kids. Grr...

I left at 8:15 this morning to go volunteer at the hospital and returned at... 6:30! @_@ it was pretty boring, there weren't that many kids in the ped. department. So we just walked around in circles. We did get a lunch break and one of the other vounteers has a car so she was gonna drive us somewhere. It turns out there's a Checkers right near the hospital. It wasn't that good though. We went back and it was playtime for the kids. I played Bingo and fooseball. Then we left...

I went to the doctor on Tuesday and he informed me of some horrible news... I don't have a lot more time to grow! ACK! That means I'll be like 5'2" for the rest of my life... *sniffles* Maybe he's wrong... but I haven't grown for a year... maybe he's right. Oh, the pain, the horror, the shortness! *sigh*

In other news: I'll probably be starting my community service tomorrow by working 9-5 in a hospital [where my friend's dad works] for 5 days... I'm taking off Wednesday to go to the FF movie! Whee! 40 hours in 5 days, wow.

I took an old, old, old, old layout one of my friends made and changed some of it around to form that thing. I doubt any of you AOL or netscape people will be able to view it properly but that's ok.

Hmm... I'm thinking about walking down a block to go to the park near me to watch the Macy's fireworks display. You can get quite a nice view from where I live.

(I have 1 trout! | throw me a trout)

7:15 am - A Mets game and more...
I went with my friend Sphoorthi and my parents to go see a Mets game at Shea Stadium. After being moved three times [we sat in the wrong section and then we were in someone else's seats because some other group had our seats] Sphoorthi and I began scouting out the cotton candy guy. This lookout thing went on for almost the whole game until we saw a cotton candy guy on the bottom level [which is really FAR from the top section]. We were so desperate that we were determined to run down there, so we did. On the way down though, we ran into a cotton candy guy ^_^ They were three bucks each...
In out normal seats we had quite a different couple in front of us. They were gay, interracial, and deaf. And yes, I'm positive they were a couple. For the majority of the game I was watching them sign and stuff. It was really interesting.
After the game they had fireworks. At first our vision was obstructed by the top of the stadium so we had to run down and sit on the stairs. It's a good thing we did. The fireworks were a-m-a-z-i-n-g! I've seen quite a few firework displays, but this is the best one I've ever seen [screw you Macy's!]. The best fireworks were the ones that covered the entire sky. Toward the end they had these really loud ones that were really cool. The whole fireworks show was beautiful, just beautiful.

It's the fourth of July today ^_^ Scary Movie 2 [damn... I just realized my theater doesn't have it! ARGH! they do, the paper was wrong] and Cats and Dogs [theater doesn't have it paper was wrong]. Now go and celebrate our independence. You better, or I'll throw a trout at you. Not that I'm doing anything today, but I'll celebrate it in my head ^_^

Happy 4th of July!

8:15 am - A.I. Review
You'd figure a film made by both Stanley Kubrick (2001: A Space Odyssey, A Clockwork Orange, The Shining, etc.) and Steven Spielberg (E.T., Schindler's List, Jurrasic Park) would leave you astounded. Well, it did - in a way.

There are certain parts of the movie where you can recognize Kubrick's influence on the film. Then there are parts that are obviously done by Spielberg, which just can't match up to Kubrick. This leaves the film with a somewhat "herky jerky" feel to it. It actually seems like the movie is actually three movies - the first hour, second hour, and the last half hour. If they would have cut the entire last half hour, the film may have reached the emotional high point that it was aiming for during the previous two hours.

The art direction was excellent. The sets (very Kubrick-ish) all had the feel of the movie - cold and dark. In addition, the costumes weren't lacking in their portrayal of the futuristic world. The effects, extremely realistic, were there to help move the film along rather than for gratuitous scenes.

Haley Joel Osment (of Sixth Sense fame) should be nominated for Best Actor this year. His acting was terrific, considering he had to be very robotic at points (in the film he doesn't blink his eyes - though I thought I saw him blink once). Frances O'Connor and Jude Law were the other stand out actors.

This film is about love. How far will a child go for the love of a parent? That's probably the most addressed question in the film. A.I. achieves it's goal - to make you think - but the faults bring down the amount of emotion. I would have liked to walk out of the movie crying, but its unnecessarily long ending prevented me from doing so.
