Off the ground I am leeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeavin tomorrow. And i'm glad for the most part, but also a bit sad. it is so nice being here with the family, but at the same time i want my apartment, i want my boyfriend, i want to clean up my room. and i also hope to get work done and maybe by being by myself in my apartment until avye gets back will give me more peace and quiet (hopefully not boredom) to do so. i'm still thinkin about this whole ireland bit. it's a superb school with a superb program, but i just don't know if i'm ready or not to leave behind my apartment when it's just gotten lived in and cute and my friends and the place i have at the school to relocate for a year with new people at a place that i may not like with weather i'm far from used to. yet i want to go sooooooooooooooo badly. so, a vote: those who think virginia should venture off to lucky charm land say aye and those against, nay. goodnight moon. Just because I look at you does not mean we're getting married Today was a very loverly day. Went out with my dahling friend Patrick and then spent the rest of the night reading Lord of the Rings and writing in my acting journal. tied some things up with aaron last night. i can't wait to get back to dallas and spend a crazy new year's there. but there are some things that i will miss about this place, as always. like, how grandmas always have their little things they have sitting aorund the house that just make you smile. like mine who has a red candy dish that's always filled with butter mints. i can't wait till i'm 70 so i can be a kooky old lady. on another note... i haven't heard from joey and i hope he got his present that i sent. so, kirk, beat him up. that is all. areckinridge. Whoo-wee! Man, it's been awhile since I've written here. And to my surprise, it seems mr joe joe hasn't either. Not too much has happened since I've gotten "home" from SMU. It's weird, cause this is the first time that my home is established in tampa. no more pensacola. bye bye. this past weekend, sort of... starting on sunday i believe i went to tally (had to fly air tran aka death jet since i ain't got no car and a bus would've taken about 20 hours) and spent my lovin, lovin days with joey and kirk. it was fabu, until of course kirk started tossing up cookies, but then he got extra sympathy from me which i guess always turns into a good thing. | Wednesday, September 19th, 2001 | 6:29 pm |
go ahead you can laugh all that you want it has indeed been awhile i'm moved into the apartment so finally i have computer access and can start writing once again for all of you lovely people to read and keep my digits in shape i just watched christopher walken on inside the actor's studio in which he stated that he completely ignores punctuation... okay those dits had to be done but that's it i'm starting as stage manager for anton in show business one of meadows workshops this year it should be fun it's an entire female run cast and crew so the estrogen flies around the room at high voltage and any male that walks in immediately freezes gets a petrified look on his face and henceforth slowly backs away we are medusa Current Mood: amusedCurrent Music: "Magic" Ben Folds | Friday, August 10th, 2001 | 1:00 am |
to do or die It seems a while since i've written any ditty in this journal shoomaling. not too much else is new here, how could it be, it's pensacola. i saw good ol candy fortin last night and talked theatre, she's at nyu and seems to be having a pretty decent time there. also saw katy taylor and matt boobian (god, spelling please?) who also seem to be quite alive and well. last night joey and i ran into the problem of living in pensacola when we tried to figure out somethiing to do other than sitting on our asses and watching the tele. so after driving around and finding out, not to our surprise, that every damn thing was closed, we went to joey's house and... watched t.v. we turned on the discovery channel and saw some program on this one african tribe who "pierce" their lips (only the women, though, of course) and wrap their lips around this huge disk to stretch them out. it's so fucking freaky... their lips hang down so low. *shudder* next subject... then today i attempted to finish packing for dallas, since i leave tomorrow, though i took a break to watch a bit of the daily show and snl. then joey and i had a lovely dinner at madison's and came back to "my place" and played a game of scrabble which we both got tired of 1/3 of the way through. and now, to contiune to pack... My grandmother dropped acid and freaked out and hijacked a bus full of penguins Today went rather nicely! Which is surprising since I'm still stuck in hell. i hung out with darling nik freeman and saw the caves film at the imax. now i want to go cave diving soooooooooooooooo badly. i doubt i'd ever make it out again, though... since his sis works at the counter, we were able to sneak into the elevator and trick all those damn naval people and go into the theatre. ha ha ha! okay, so maybe it's not *that* crazy, but hey-- it's me. afterwards we came back and played a rousing game of scrabble (not "arousing") then that's all. i'm preparing to get hit by barry, hopefully it'll graze us by and just die away. okay, so on an added note: MY BOYFRIEND HAS COME DOWN WITH MONO yes, folks that's indeed correct. when he called me up telling me this "bad news" as he referred to it as, i thought i was gonna scream. i mean, come on, kirk sympathize with me here. that means no good lovin for a looooooooooong time. no saliva exchanged here for 6 months. 6! SIX! kirk, i'm sure you can feel my pain, you're dying for good hugs, now i have this amazing person in front of me that i want to kiss, and he wants to kiss me but the damn FORCES OF NATURE ARE FORBIDDING IT!!!!!!!!! GYAH! so, that's all. but my other question was once i realized that i was FUCKED was: "how the hell did you get mono?" Jehovah's Witness?... Or just another disguise of SATAN? So this morning we went out to go sailing, me, my mom, and a couple of folks from the sailing school. at first, it was so lovely, the sea spraying into my face, the sun on my back, the water glistening blue... and then it hit me: HEAVE 2! it had begun... the boat just stayed in place and rocked. back and forth and back and forth; however, at the same time, so went my stomach. so the last hour or so of being on the boat, i thought i was gonna feed the fishies. however, it got better once we started moving and especially once i was able to stand with both legs planted firmly on the ground. there's a reason a REASON we don't have fins here, folks! i think i can actually still feel the rocking, when i was in my shower i thought there might be a followup of HEAVE 3. then after a few hours, and talking to aaron for a bit, i got in touch with frank and we went to the fish house. so, i see patrick joey's bro there and smile and wave... now, i know i don't have the most attractive, memorable face but *still* i think i would have been remembered. now the poor guy probably thinks some weird random girl is stalking him. oh well... so is the story of my life. but, as i was sitting there with frank and we were talking about friends who have been arrested, the debutante, and the horrible situation of the stocks falling. so, as i'm dishing out sentences such as, "oh yes... how horriffic it is that coldwell banker is not aiding me at all in my college funding" i look down at myself, in my faded hippie dress, hemp, and jesus sandals, i think "What the fuck am I talking about?" the endless tirade of economics pushing against my own will! what can i say... nothing except for "zizzybaloobah" i suppose. "We could always do naked time" *sigh* it's sad that most of these days exist solely as countdowns to when i get to see aaron. geez... in that case, i hope he never dies because then i'd really waste my life counting down days until i could see him again in the after-life. but, anyway... what have i done what have i done... i guess it's still pretty much nothing. today i hung around the house, talked to th eADT security man for quite some time while he tried to fix our botched up system. it was odd because he reminded me *so* much of chris mcallister, mainly in the way he talked and his facial expressions. but, anyway, after that i read some more of the Four Agreements that Joey had recommended me to read. it is a fabu book and full of many insights i never would have thought about, so everyone should read it. or shall i say, "everyone in a first world country" should read it. Then i went swimming and afterwards made some tiramisu with my mom. (it's the cynthia fry cooking school-- i recommend it highly for any considering enrollment.) and tonight i went out to eat at madison's, the fave pensacola eatery, to finally celebrate ashley's birthday and shower her with presents. so which brings me up to where i am now, about to cut the ladyfingers and watch crouching tiger. yay! so i talked to aaron for a bit the other day and we're planning on ultimately settling down in new zealand, though probably not for quite some time. (it's not marriage yet, not even an engagement, so don't fret) but, i hear it's lovely over there and that way we could live in beautiful nature with all the criminals and have mary jane as our neighbor, or maybe live-in guest. *sigh* and little calvin and unnamed girl can have there own horse on our crazy spiritual ranch, complete with tai chi and yoga. au revoir, mes petits amis. "Have you seen my monkey?" I always forget how uneventful summer is until I'm in it. Well, actually I'm exaggerating a bit here since I did indeed keep busy in Taos, as well as traveling around in general. But now that I'm winding down in Pensacola, I realize that I really have nothing to do. I suppose it's nice, and I know I'm going to beat my head against the wall during the school year when I'm busy, exhausted, and stressed and longing for these exact kind of moments when nothing is the first item on my "to do" list. So the past few days I have done... nothing. Almost every day, though, I do yoga with me mum which is very nice and I'm slowly becoming more and more flexible. Ashley's birthday is today, though I haven't yet given her her gift. instead, we went to barnes and noble to get our friend mandy a gift for her birthday tomorrow. it's weird... four of my friends birthdays' within about three days of one another. it reminds me so much of the 4 virgo's in high school: me, lowell, candice and amy-- all having birthdays within days of each other. (i am the youngest , my birthday being on the 13th of september). ah, those virgo bash's we used to throw. too bad the onset of college had to end those days. who knows, though, maybe this year i'll kidnap lowell and drag her up to new york city with me to party down and dirty with candy. now the only problem is leaving dallas... okay, that is all. i hope all you lovely people are having a lovely time. Well... That *does* sound like Frank's voice... Wow... I think it's actually been since the end of school since I've written. LEt's see, to bring us up to date. I've been galavanting around the united states for practically the whole summer, leaving SMU (and aaron) behind in Dallas, on my way back home to good ol' p'cola. so i stayed there for all of 5 seconds, hung out with the gang, ashley and adam and mario, laura and crew then left for tampa only to leave for boston the next day. which i do. i'm then in boston for 2 days, carrying with me suitcases with clothes packed for pensacola, tampa, boston, and taos. right after my sister's graduation from wellesley, i leave for taos, NM at 4:00 in the freakin morning. then after a month of excavation, i leave from taos to go to boston. (though it took two days to get there because of delays-- i was even temporarily displaced in the birmingham airport after our plane started to run out of fuel and we had to land). finally, next day: boston. A week there, then back to tampa. Two days in tampa, then I drive to St. Cloud to visit my roommate and after St. Cloud, went to Orlando to see Justin then drove back to tampa. stayed there for 5 days, then drove to Tally to stay with Joey for 4 days or so. Then, drove back "home" to pensacola. Which is where I am now. Just thought my itenerary was crazy enough to be written about, though I didn't go to Japan for three days like some other weirdos I know... but love. Oh summer summer Why Wouldst Thou be So Forlorn? i'm always so very impressed about how joey and kirk can keep up with these damn things almost everyday. i'm trying hard! really, i truly am! (i'm not sure who i'm trying to convince here...) anyway, this is the last journal entry i shall write before i go home! yay! at last! nothing makes me more excited than my mom's cooking. *nothing* not even kevin spacey. so, i must leave and finish this entry so i can pack up me computer. la dee dee da... It's time I stop thinking and wasting the day well... it's been quite awhile since i've written in this lovely journal of mine. my life the past two or three weeks has been insanity. not only have all my classes demanded papers at almost exactly the same time, i've had crew for merchant of venice every night...*sigh* it's hard being a theatre major sometimes. no wait-- scratch that: ALL of the time. so, finally that was over on sunday, but then on monday I had my final computer test (which was IMPERATIVE that i did well on. i suppose i'll see when grades come out...) and today i had all my plays due that i was supposed to have read and write papers on them, as well as 5 other theatre papers due. now that today is over, so are most of my worries except for my final on friday morning and then my scene performance on saturday for d.a.t. but, life is good. i went to an excellent solo performance today called "meology" by my friend jill. (all you theater majors can testify her talent) all i can say though, is thank god i'll be home for a little while where i'm going to be eating, sleeping, and living constantly on the beach or by my pool before i head off to boston for hilary's graduation (so scary... everyone is getting so old!) and then to taos, new mexico for a month. to all you pensacolians, i'll be arriving in pensacola probably on the 11th, seeing if all plane reservations go well, which they almost never do. so today was the last day in d.a.t. (dramatic arts today). it seems so weird to me. though i've felt like i've been here for years, i also feel like yesterday i just walked through the door to the margo jones theatre to do my freshman showcase in front of a couple hundred of theatre majors that i didn't even slightly know. then i look back and think what i originally thought i knew and was bringing into the program and realize that i've been completely transformed into how i view my acting, as well as all other theatrical aspects. the things that i know now, or are at least *aware* of now, i never would have thought of before and to compare that to what i knew (or didn't know) when i came in is astounding. i wonder when and if it will all ever hit me to make perfect sense, though. when will i be able to "act" solely through my impulse, while retaining stanislavski's approach, keep my objective in mind, make decisions moment by moment, at the same time listening and reacting off of others on stage, staying focused and present, not having to live in my head, not *always* having to know what my objective is, and let my emotion be organic? time will only tell, i suppose... Swinging on a star while still attached to the earth It's been quite a long time since i've written in this damn thing, but my schedule has been quite busy. this past week has basically been about me having a lot of work, thinking i should do it, and deciding to sit on my ass instead. i'm so very ready for this year to be over, and it will be quite soon, which is kinda bad because in this next month i have an incredible amount of work to do. anyone care to write my anthropology paper for me? so...we're starting scenes finally in DAT and it's a bit intimidating, since all we've been doing most of the year are exercises more or less. who knows... maybe it'll all come out okay. or maybe we'll all explode. it's hard to tell. today i didn't do anytihng too exciting, though i had a grand time doing a photo shoot with a friend of mine. *sigh* i suppose i'm such a perfect subject. but, it was nice for a change other than sitting around thinking of the work that should be done. on other recent news, i've been experiencing an incredible amount of pain and finally went to the health centre only to find out that i have a kidney infection...which would explain things. so, that ain't much too fun and i'm on so much medication that it's insane. it's kinda tricky going to classes sometimes because the only time i'm truly comfortable is lying down. but i can function, so i'm still going. "Roulez, Roulez, Allez, Allez" But, on the good part of my life, i'm leaving thursday night to go visit ashley in new orleans! it's such a nice easter present...to myself! so, we're gonna get down 'n dirty, i'm sure. that's all for this ado. Hitchhiking along a deserted highway with nothing but a bottle and a cap Well, today I thought was going to be a horrific day. However, it turned out quite the opposite. English was boring, i almost fell asleep, as I usually do. But, afterwards I didn't have to go to Wellness, so I slept for an hour then met Avye to try to figure out our housing situation. (we're gonna be roomies! yippee skaddoo!) Then, *thank god* i got to see Aaron longer for ten minutes. Dating theatre majors can be so trying some times... So, i we went to lunch and i got a yummy sun dried tomato bagel with hummus. mmmmmmmmmm... and that, oddly enough, was when my day started to improve. i've come to notice, that food is one of the things in life that really makes me happy. i love eating. actually, more than eating, i love tasting. see, someone like dustin z. likes to eat (i love ya, kid), but i like to *taste*. it's probably from growing up on my mom's yummy meals. Last night was insanity, because i accidentally booked a flight online that i didn't mean to. The website was confusing-- honest! it really was. don't ever go to air one travel, it's kinda sketchy. so, i called and bitched them out until they didn't charge me for making a reservation. and that was a standing point in the glory (or doom) of becoming an adult. usually, i'm very much a pushover, nd if they said "no" i'd probably meekly respond, "okay... sorry..." but, no, honey children, this was quite a different story... needless to say, i probably caused some headaches in the office, but perhaps they'll learn to improve their website. AND i don't owe them 168 dollars anymore. things are cleared up with aaron. i had a long talk with him last night and all is well (not that it ever wasn't). i think my main problem is that i've been overly emotional, lacking sleep, and sickly. and that combined makes me, in short, insane. but, things are as great as usual, and this weekend i'll be able to spend even more time with him. (and avye, you too, of course!) so... yes... okay day. Current Mood: contentCurrent Music: "african skies" paul simon | Wednesday, March 28th, 2001 | 4:49 pm |
The baffled came composing Hallelujah I almost forgot to add something about today. I've come to realize that I can be such a non-understanding, "tyrannical" as we like to say, controlling, well... in plain terms, bitch to aaron. and why? there's no reason for it. but, every once in a while when i look back on something i've said or done, and think about how *i* would feel if he did that to me, then i'd be quite upset. jesus... yeah, i can be a complete bitch freak and for that, i feel horrible. here is one of the most amazing people on earth that i love and get along with so well, and what do i do? make everything shitty for him. i'm sorry, aaron, and i promise in the future, i'll be more understanding to your needs and wants. i'm a bitch, what can i say? heaven knows why i ever got someone like you...
