| 8:48 pm | Was für ein komisches Ding soll eigentlich die Ausstrahlung sein? Mir kommt das inzwischen vor wie ein Trostpflaster für unscheinbare bis hässliche Frauen vor. Wenn eine Frau lieb ist, aber einfach nicht schön, sagen die Freunde, dass sie Ausstrahlung besitzt und alle sind glücklich. Und die vielen 15jährigen Mädelchen, die Models werden wollen, sagen auch alle, dass sie Ausstrahlung haben... würde man nachfragen, was sie unter Ausstrahlung verstehen, würde man nur Gestammel ernten. (Was ich einer 15jährigen aber nicht zum Vorwurf mache.) Ich halte "Ausstrahlung" für ein Modewort, eine Floskel... Ich finde, es gibt Leute, die sind sehr präsent. Oder selbstbewusst. Oder können sich gut darstellen. Aber den Begriff "Ausstrahlung" finde ich derartig ausgelutscht und abgegriffen ("Charisma" ebenso), dass ich mich weigere, ihn ernsthaft zu benutzen. | 6:07 pm | I finally met my pen pal Nadia Here I am again! Now I want to talk about Satursday, when I met Nadia from Chicago: My penpal Nadia spends now nearly 2 months in Prien at the lake "Chiemsee" in Bavaria. It isn't just a journey, she studies German at the "Goethe-Institut". People from all over the world study German at a "Goethe-Institut", in different German towns. Nadia lives now in Chicago, because she had married her American boyfriend two years ago. But she was born and raised in Russia. At Satursday in the morning I travelled to Prien on trains. I arrived at 11:30 a.m and met Nadia and her Japanese room-mate Naomi at the railway-station. It's a quite small railway-station, so it was no problem to find each other. Of course I've never seen Nadia in real life before, but we have swapped photos during the years. (We have written letters since autumn of 1998, during the last months we write mainly e-mails.) Nadia is very tall and quite skinny, she has long dark-blonde hair with a perm. We could talk German all the time, because Nadia's German is already quite well, although not really fluent. She pronounces German right. (Being Russian, she can of course pronounce the "r" as the Bavarian people do :-)) Naomi's German wasn't as good as Nadia's, she had often difficulties to understand what I said and I couldn't always understand her, either. (But I've talked a lot with her, anyway.) First the three of us went to a restaurant. Naomi and Nadia had chosen one with typical Bavarian dishes. The food was delicious and wasn't too expensive. We've spend a lot of time walking around in Prien which is really a small town, but with a lot of tourists from all over the world. Nadia said, that she had met also some Russian families, who live in Prien now. We went to the students' hostel, where Nadia and Naomi are sharing a sleeping room. The house is small, but very modern, clean, with large windows. There's a big kitchen for all students, with large tables and a TV. (They like especially to watch some quiz-shows, to learn some new vocabulary). In the afternoon, we also went to a little market. People sold things made of leather, pottery, glass and stone. There were a lot of jewelry and paintings available. But none of us bought anything, because all those things were quite expensive and most things kitschy. Tourists' trash! Of course we also went to a café to have coffee and cakes. I found the cake a bit too sweet, but Naomi and Nadia liked them very much. During the afternoon, we took of course some photos and from time to time Nadia and Naomi asked people to take pictures of the three of us together. Now I tell you a bit about the studies at the "Goethe-Institut": The students have German-lessons every day (Monday-Friday) in the morning, until about 1:00 p.m. The afternoon is free, but there is some homework to do and they have the chance to study on their own, with computers and books. Usually they have nice excursions to interesting places at the week-ends (they've been to Munich, Vienna and Salzburg in Austria,...) but this week-end was free. So they didn't miss any programm because of my visit. After 25th of June, Nadia will travell to Russia to visit her family, she didn't see them for two years. They couldn't even come to her wedding, because they couldn't get any visas to the USA. What a pity! Nadia will spend 7 weeks in Russia. I left Prien at about 6:30 p.m, a bit exhausted. | 7:30 pm | I think, I should change my job. I have a new idea already, but it's too early to talk about... we'll see... I've read in the net, that there'll be a movie about "Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya-Sisterhood". Oh dear! It's suposed to be a great movie especially for women. I've read the book already. At the beginning, it's quite amusing. But later it becomes more and more kitschy. Trash, trash, trash! My old black jeans fit again, after about at least two years!!! That's really great. | 9:35 pm | Some "thoughts" about the European Song Contest in Kopenhagen I saw the whole show and I was a bit dissappointed. I didn't really like the "best" song from Estonia. I liked the song from Slovenia best. And I liked the voice of the Norwegian singer. The song from Denmark was nice and funny. But both of the TV hosts annoyed me very much. The tried too hard to be funny, but their jokes were dull and silly. And I don't really understand why the woman had to wear three different dresses and just one of them really suited her. In my opinion. Ich habe online eine völlig blödsinnige Kritik über diesen Songcontest gelesen. Der Schreiberling behauptete, die holländische Nummer wäre eine "Selbstbefriedigungsnummer" gewesen. Gütiger Himmel, wie kommt er auf sowas? Und "unserer" Michelle wäre angeblich fast der Busen aus dem Kleid geflutscht. Blödsinn. Und der ganze Grand Prix wäre der schlimmste überhaupt gewesen. Ich habe ihn als genauso schaurig-schön empfunden, wie alle anderen. Und es waren immerhin ein paar Nummern dabei, die mir gefallen haben. Allerdings nicht genug, dass ich mir die CD kaufen würde. | 6:22 pm | Ein super Gewinn Heute fand ich in meiner Mailbox eine E-Mail mit dem Titel "Gewinnbenachrichtigung". Ich war gleich skeptisch, aber ich glaube, ich habe tatsächlich an einem Gewinnspiel dieses Parfumversands teilgenommen. Mein sagenhafter Gewinn war ein 10DM-Gutschein, nicht bar einzulösen. Allerdings gilt dieser Gutschein nur bei einem Mindesteinkauf von 50 DM, zuzüglich Versandkosten. So ein Schmarrn. Angeblich hat es "nur" knapp 200 solcher Gutscheine gegeben, aber ich traue mich wetten, dass jede Teilnehmerin einen bekommen hat. | 9:11 pm | It's quite warm and sunny in Germany now. Yesterday I had my first ice-cream of this year :-). I made a little "test" some days ago, it was a quiz of 100 questions about politics, art, history, sports and so on. I'm not satisfied with my result of 60 points, I think I should know more. So I'll read more newspapers and watch more news on TV now. Recently I saw the new video-clip of "Ginger Spice", her version of "It's raining men". I don't like her voice very much and I think she was prettier some years ago, when she was a part of the Spice Girls. I think she is too skinny now. I think I know most of the popular new bands and singers now, but I like only a small number of them. Most of them will be forgotten in some years, anyway. Vor ein paar Tagen habe ich Fürstin Gloria von Thurn und Taxis bei "Friedmann" im ARD gesehen. Ich konnte diese offensiv ausgelebte Dummheit nur wenige Minuten ertragen. Jetzt gehen ihre zweifelhaften Äusserungen ja durch die Medien - womit diese seltsame Dame die Aufmerksamkeit bekommt, wonach es sie offensichtlich dürstet... Sie hat doch tatsächlich gesagt, dass die AIDS-Problematik in Afrika nicht von einem Mangel an Verhütung durch Kondome kommt, sondern "weil der Schwarze so gern schnackselt". (Anmerkung: Kann das HI-virus zählen, d.h. spielt es wirklich eine Rolle, wie oft man ungeschützten Geschlechtsverkehr hat?) Würde sich eine aufstrebende Politikerin so äussern, würde man ihr - zu Recht - Rassismus vorwerfen. Aber mit dem richtigen Titel darf man offensichtlich alle geistigen Tiefflüge öffentlich zum Ausdruck bringen. Dann hat Gloria von Thurn und Taxis noch gesagt, dass Kondome nichts bringen, weil man sich beim Oralverkehr auch infizieren könne. Gütiger Himmel! Jeder durch die BRAVO aufgeklärte 13-jähriger könnte ihr sagen, dass man auch beim Oralverkehr (wenn man ihn überhaupt praktiziert) ebenfalls Kondome benützen kann. | 12:20 pm | Heute habe ich online den neuen Stern-Artikel über die bösen kinderlosen Menschen gelesen. Bin ich froh, dass ich nicht die ca. 4DM für dieses Magazin ausgegeben habe! Das ist ja wirklich billigste Polemik! Der Artikel, den der kinderlose Reporter geschrieben hatte, geht ja noch. | 12:22 pm | Ich habe vor ein paar Tagen einen netten Film im Fernsehen gesehen. Es war "Das merkwürdige Verhalten geschlechtsreifer Großstädter zur Paarungszeit". Die einzelnen Episoden waren teilweise etwas lahm, d.h. die Episode mit Cosma Shiva Hagen beispielsweise hätte auch die Geschichte eines Bravo-Fotoromans sein können. Aber es hat mir sehr gut gefallen, wie die Geschichten mit einander verflochten waren. Die Episode mit der diebischen Frau mittleren Alters hat mir am besten gefallen. | 7:37 pm | Do you really want to hurt me, do you really want to make me cry Yesterday I went to the second concert of F's rockband, together with Gerald, Christa and some acquaintances. It was awfull! Crappy! They played for example "Smoke on the water", but it was an absolutely cruel version. F tried to play the drums, but I have to say that she didn't have any rhythm. The guitarists played totally wrong, anyway. One of the guitarists and the bassguitarist tried to sing the lead vocals. Well it was...er...interesting. The most interesting English pronunciation ever: A bit American, a lot Bavarian, very strange. The lyrics of their own songs were as silly as some pupils had written them. Nevertheless they explained them before they played the songs! Well, what the audience was concerned, I didn't see even one who really loved that music. Except the partners of different band members. Some of the people, we went to the concert with, were members of rockbands themselves. They were very shocked about this performance, but also a bit amused. Hey, at least it was free of charge! We left this show early and went to another pub where a much better band, had a concert. But we came really late, so we could just listen to a small number of songs. Ist es wirklich zuviel verlangt, zu erwarten, dass eine Schlagzeugerin den Takt/ Rhytmus hält? Kann man wirklich noch von "Geschmacksache" reden, wenn besagte Schlagzeugerin ZWEIMAL im selben Song aus dem Takt gerät? Ist es übertrieben, zu verlangen, dass der Gitarrist auch mal wieder vom Wah-Wah-Pedal heruntersteigt??? Current Mood: amusedCurrent Music: Queen "Dead on time" |

| 9:35 pm | As I "published" one of my e-mail-addies (not my most important one) at penpals' homepages, I receive again and again some SPAM. I always send them right back home to the sender... and add a cynical comment about that stuff. I hope, the "owner" feels quite silly after reading. However, nobody sends me spam twice. :-) Ich radle jeden Tag auf dem Hometrainer. Seit heute fahre ich mit viel Power und habe schon nach 10 Minuten Schweißflecken unter den Achseln wie Andreas Türck. | 7:51 pm | Yesterday was my 25th birthday. I received some birthday-cards by penpals (not too many) and my new Canadian pal Yi-Yi even sent me a selfmade keyring. Really nice. My elder brother Rainer sent me a card, too. I'm sure, I'll get some further cards during next week. In the afternoon both my grandmothers came and my friend F too. I received different gifts, for example one of those new little Harry-Potter-schoolbooks. In the evening just Gerald and Christa came to have dinner with me. But it was quite funny, anyway. | 2:44 pm | Here I am again! Well, here didn't happen a lot, that's why I didn't add a new entry yet. At least I lost weight again, I started to do some "sport", I mean, I ride my hometrainer every day. That helps a lot. Some people, who seemed to be eager to get my penpals (they wrote e-mails first) don't answer my letter at all now. Annoying. Should I write them an e-mail again? Well, I don't want to get lame excuses. ("Sorry, I'm too busy to write to you anymore...") Ich finde Entschuldigungen total lächerlich. Man kann doch nicht mit einem Wort wieder gut machen, was man mit Taten kaputt gemacht hat. Damit entlastet sich nur derjenige, der sich entschuldigt, dem "Opfer" hilft das nicht. | 10:33 pm | Der Mord an einer Frau wird wesentlich milder bestraft als der Mord an einem Mann. Um genau zu sein: Die Tötung einer Frau wird gleich gar nicht als Mord gewertet, sondern nur als Todschlag, egal wie offensichtlich der Vorsatz war. Heute habe ich den Fall gelesen, indem ein Mann in die Wohnung seiner Exfreundin gewaltsam eingedrungen ist und sie erwürgt hat. Als ihn die Kraft in den Armen verlassen hat, hat er sie mit einem Gegenstand weiter gewürgt. Zuvor hatte er sie auch schon misshandelt. Die Strafe: lächerliche 13 Jahre! Als Frau ist man in unserer Gesellschaft wirklich ein Mensch zweiter Klasse. Wenn eine Frau vergewaltigt oder ermordet - oder beides - wird, wird ihr immer vorgeworfen, den Täter provoziert zu haben. | 7:02 pm | Ich habe wieder etwas Gewicht verloren! Wenn das so weitergeht, bin ich an meinem Geburtstag, dem 7. April, unter der "magischen Grenze". Das will ich unbedingt schaffen! Muss mich aber auch ärgern: Es gäbe bei ebay.de "This woman's work" zu einem vernünftigen Preis zu kaufen - aber mir fehlt im Moment das Geld. Mist. | 8:28 pm | Lazing on a Sunday afternoon I watched the sites of "ebay.de" and "hood.de" and was very surprised. You can sell nearly everything there. For example advertising-stickers. And I threw some in the garbage-can months ago... Today I've heard for the first time a song by Aimee Mann. And I liked it very much. I've heard her name years ago, but I had never heard any of her songs. I lost some weight! Not too much, but better than nothing. Yesterday and today, I read the book "Ensel und Krete" by Walter Moers. It's a very intelligent fairy tale for grown-ups - with a wicked sense of humour. Walter Moers is a talented writer and his cartoons are great, too. I like him very much. But I guess, his books are just available in German. During the last few days, I received some annoying spam in my mailbox. Those crap about a boy who earned thousands of dollars by joining a e-mail-chain-letter... I sent it right back to the sender. I hope other annoyed people will take a leave out of my book - than the sender's mailbox will be filled with his own junk. I hate all sorts of chain-mails. A penpal sent some of those stuff to me today, too. "Send it to all of your friends...if you don't, you'll have two years of bad luck!" Hey, what's that supposed to be? We are grown-up, aren't we? Feli ist heute überraschend zum Kaffee gekommen. Ich habe es nicht über's Herz gebracht, mich dafür zu beschweren, dass mein Name nicht auf dem Cover auftaucht. Meine Mutter meint, ich wäre einfach nur höflich, ich meine, ich bin feige und harmoniesüchtig... wie auch immer, ich habe daraus gelernt. | 12:33 pm | Es scheint unmöglich zu sein, ein schönes, großes Adressbuch zu finden. Jetzt habe ich ein Einsteckalbum für Visitenkarten gekauft und alle Adressen meiner Brieffreunde auf Kärtchen geschrieben. Und in das Album gesteckt. War billig und sieht nett aus. Susanne ist so dünn, dass man Angst haben muss, dass sie in der Mitte auseinander bricht. Sie will ja auch Model werden. Ich frage mich, ob man da schon von Magersucht sprechen kann. Es sieht jedenfalls gefährlich aus. Zwei neue Brieffreunde: Zul aus Singapore und Marina aus Jugoslawien. | 1:09 pm | Yesterday, late in the evening, I watched "Wilde Kreaturen"/"Wilde creatures" with John Cleese, Jamie Lee Curtis, Michael Palin and Kevin Kline. It's very funny, I laughed a lot. But "A fish called Wanda was much better, it had the better story. Es amüsiert mich sehr, wenn Amerikaner genau aufschlüsseln, von welchen Nationalitäten sie abstammen. Neulich hat mal eine geschrieben: 66% irisch, der Rest französisch und deutsch. Wie rechnet man das eigentlich aus? Ich halte es aber für Wichtigtuerei, wenn Amis derartig genau ihre Herkunft aufschlüsseln - und dann ihre Brieffreunde mit diesen Erkenntnissen beglücken. Wenn ihnen schon die Abstammung so wichtig ist, dann sollten sie sich Fremdsprachenkenntnisse aneignen. Meine Meinung. Current Mood:  boredCurrent Music: just news on the radio |

| 2:50 pm | The thriller "Dolores" yesterday was really great! Very different from all those other Stephen King-movies, that I know (no blood, no monsters,...). There wasn't any shocking scene, but it was indeed an exciting movie. Jennifer Jason Leigh and Kathy Bates acted well. Ich glaube, ich sollte überhaupt keine Frauenzeitschriften mehr kaufen. Die sind so schrecklich oberflächlich und doof. Neulich habe ich mir die "Glamour" gekauft, weil sie nur 2 DM gekostet hat. Was für ein Mist. Psychotest! Und so tolle Alltagspsychologie, z.B. "Was die Farbe Ihres Lieblings-T-Shirts über Ihre Persönlichkeit aussagt". Gütiger Himmel! Das hatten wir doch vor 10 Jahren alles schon in "Mädchen" und "Bravo-Girl". Die Allegra habe ich auch satt, seit ich weiß, sie sich die dumme Sibylle Berg über Alice Schwarzer geäussert hat. Jeder soll seine Meinung sagen, aber eine derartige Vulgärsprache ist bei einer erwachsenen Frau eine Zumutung. | 9:16 pm | Freising Today was a nice sunny day, so my mother and I went to Freising to go shopping. I paid again a lot for stamps (I'm not a collector, I bought just stamps for my letters.) I was again looking for a beautiful address book, but as I had expected it, I couldn't find any. In a shop full of silly things I saw some funny "South Park"-mugs, but they were too expensive for me. I don't want to pay so much just for a cup as I already have a lot of them. I bought "Wilde creatures"(?) with Kevin Kline, Jamie Lee Curtis, Michael Palin and John Cleese on video. It was very cheap and I'm sure, it's quite funny. My mother and I drank Cappuccino in a coffee-house and we could sit outside. I really wanted to have a cup of ice-cream, but I didn't dare, for my weight's sake! :-) But today, in the late evening I have to watch a Stephen-King-thriller with Jennifer Jason Leigh on TV. I'm not a Stephen-King-fan, but this movie is said to be really worth watching. Heute habe ich den ersten Brief von Isabelle H. bekommen. Sie scheint sehr nett zu sein und hat fast die gleiche Handschrift wie Jowien. Sie benutzte Diddl-Briefpapier. Ich habe vor 1-2 Wochen die Adresse ihrer Schwester in einem FB gefunden und an sie geschrieben. Jetzt hat mir eben Isabelle geschrieben. Ist mir auch recht, Isabelle passt altersmäßig sogar noch besser zu mir. Ich finde es ein bisschen unverschämt, wenn Leute, die angeben, dass sie Brieffreunde suchen, auf einen persönlichen Brief, der nett gestaltet ist, überhaupt nicht antworten. Selbst wenn sie mit demjenigen keine Brieffreundschaft beginnen wollen, würde ja eine Postkarte reichen. Dann weiß man wenigstens Bescheid. Christine hat mir auch geschrieben, diesmal sogar handschriftlich, was mir lieber ist. Sie heiratet am 31. März und ich habe die Hochzeitskarte heute schon abgeschickt. Für alle Fälle. | 11:12 pm | Well, today there wasn't anything special... Rainer, Gertrud and her parents went home again. The 50th-birthday-party yesterday must have been nice, but not sensationally great. Yesterday, late in the evening, I wasted a lot of time watching a movie on TV. It was a thriller with Mel Gibson, Julia Roberts and Patrick Steward, I guess the English title might be "Fletcher's visions". It could have been a very exciting and scary thriller, but it wasn't. The story was quite confuse, and Julia Roberts didn't act well. But I don't like her anyway. But it was the very first time, that I saw Patrick Steward as a "bad boy". What a coincident, the story of the mentioned thriller is similar to the story of Kate Bush's "Experiment IV". Today, however, I saw a quite good film on TV, it was a thriller of the German "Tatort"-series. Ich werde Collin/Jacques vorerst nicht zurückschreiben. Irgendwie glaube ich, er ist nicht ganz sauber. Ich meine, er UNTERSCHREIBT die Postkarte mit "Collin" und dann antwortet er auf die E-Mail als "Jacques". Das ist doch nicht normal? Vor allem, dass er mir keinerlei Erklärung auf dieses Spielchen gegeben hat. Auf der Brieffreundeseite sind auch einige Einträge für Collin und einige für Jacques, jeder der beiden Namen hat eine andere Adresse, aber ich glaube trotzdem, dass es sich um den gleichen Burschen handelt.
