So I quit smoking last friday - and have had an easy go so far. It help to be skiing all weekend. But today will be a significant challenge. Three hour drive to Seattle - alone....let's see if the will-power can handle this....

7:28 pm - the drive
|
5:00am - get up, check email, take a shower. kiss my wife goodbye
5:30am - grab a coffe at starbucks - Iced Venti Americano (extra ice), two packets of equal, splash of half-n-half
5:45am - Jump onto I-5 Northbound - still dark, but I can tell it's gonna be a nice day. Cold and clear
6:50am - Exit 63, gotta stop...the view of Mt Rainier with blood red sky forces me to pull over and take a few snapshots. I wish I had my nikon - the sony is just too low-res to do this landscape justice.
7:45am - Exit 119 - Starbucks right off the freeway...take a leak, reload coffee. This time a triple grande latte....smoke a cigarette and look at the sky. Jump back in the car.
8:30am - hit the I-405 exit....traffic is crawling - Seattle freeways are a bitch!
9:15am - Hit Bellevue, pull into the office. Have another smoke.
10:00am - my first meeting is late...where's Denise????
11:00am - next meeting on schedule. Good meeting - accomplish much work! Runs 3 hours. Productive.
2:00pm - grab a sandwich and a cup of soup - return phone calls. Bullshit with the boys..
3:30pm - get in my car and head for hotel. I've got a late conference call and I don't want to be sitting in the office.
4:00pm - in my room. Wayport internet connection doesn't work....call their tech support. Get it fixed. Call into the conference bridge
7:30pm - conference call FINALLY ends....painful session.
8:00pm - knock this note out, call home, read emails.

- I've got a good crew. It was nice to have them all together in Dallas this week.
- going to Sedona, AZ in March for a week of fun in the sun
- Seattle next week - Jayne will be up Wednesday
- Microsoft is my biggest challenge this year
- One more week of smoking - then I'm done....I hope
- Time to get coffee.
