[ music | Smashing Pumpkins - Bullet With Butterfly Wings ]

Bollocks! I got up late and now I've missed the stinking bus. I'll have to get the next one and be late. Goddamn.

Last night was stupid. Alex somehow got stranded in Burton so me and mom had to go pick him up. But it was different.

Doctor... [04 Mar 2002|04:34pm]
[ mood | anxious ]
[ music | At The Gates - Suicide Nation ]

Dammit, I gotta go see the doctor again... I think I have a chest infection or something. I was coughing REALLY bad yesterday, but today I feel okay... Isn't it annoying?

I edited a bit more of my corporate video today. It's really irritating being so far behind... some people have finished doing their music videos, and I'm still here on the last project. Gemma wants me to bring my drums to her house for her music video, which is gonna be a motherfucker... But oh well. It'll be cool. I get to be a goon and say "Look at me, I'm Aerosmith!"

Dan wants me to cover his shift on Thursday. I think I'll do it, cuz otherwise I'll only get thirty quid this week... But it means I have to go to work. No big.

I finally got the latest Pantera album today. Ain't listened to it yet though.

Ian's cutting it a bit fine, he's sposed to give me a lift to the doctor's in like one minute, and he's not here...

[ music | Ministry - Thieves Live ]

Aaargh, I have a mouth ulcer. It's on the inside of my right cheek and it's REALLY getting on my tits. It's in one of those awkward places that's RIGHT there when you're trying to eat. I'm gonna eat some oranges so it'll go away.

I sold all those CDs. I got £7.50, an old and very rare Napalm Death single and a Ministry live EP for them. Something of a raw deal, but y'know, I won't miss them.

Sarah's mom died a couple of weeks ago. It's the funeral on Wednesday. I don't wanna go... Funerals are so depressing. Sarah said she wouldn't be offended if I didn't go, so I suppose I'll respectfully decline. It's not like I ain't got shitloads of work to be getting on with anyway...

Speaking of which, I best get on with some collegey shit.

Pay day! [02 Mar 2002|01:45am]
[ mood | nostalgic ]
[ music | Crowbar - A Perpetual Need ]

Friday rocks.

I bumped into SO many people today. Aside from the usual people... Sam and Grace, Laughin' Emma, Kat, Oz, Jacko, Welly et al... I traded glances with Kev, Keiran, Kirsty, Warren (who I haven't seen since high school), Dean and this freaky tramp guy who thinks I'm his mate...

Anyway, as it's Friday, I got PAID. Handily I'm not getting charged for the unfortunate Tupelo incident, which left me with an extra £30... So I bought both the Deftones and Ministry's first albums, Space Invaders and Final Fantasy VI. I didn't even know FF6 was available in this country til today... But I have it now. Hooray for me!

Goin' to Dad's tomorrow. I ain't been for about three weeks. I'm totally looking forward to it... I'm gonna flog a buncha CDs to the second-hand shop while we're there. I'm getting rid of a few crap albums I picked up a while ago. Try not to get your hands on these albums at any risk. This is for your own good...
CrushDown - Like This. Sub-standard Bon Jovi-style shit with a deceptively cool name...
Dark Tranquility - Skydancer. Out-of-time black metal with crap vocals.
Deviated Instinct - Re-opening Old Wounds. Poor quality semi-grindcore.
Emperor - In The Nightside Eclipse. Only one good track, and it's a cover.
Global Noise Attack - Seizure. REALLY bad industrial tripe with a crap cockney singer.
Gorgoroth - Destroyer. Unintelligible nonsense.

And now... I'm going to do shit with the website.

[ music | Pissing Razors - Born To Serve ]

Man, I dunno why, but I'm falling asleep here. Shouldn't be, yet.

Today I finished shooting another scene for my corporate video. It's nearly finished... I'm debating whether to go in and edit what I've got and do the rest after. I need some tape space, so I think I will. I'm going to Lichfield anyway to spend some cash, so I might as well.

Tupelo practice was today. We got fuck all done. Paying was a right fiasco too, I had to go to the cash machine, risking overdraft charges, to pay for it. I felt like such a tit speaking to the "pay-me" bloke that I accidentally swindled him out of two quid... He should've known better than to ask me to work out the change.

I got the new Razors album. It's quite good... Really short, only 36 minutes, but the songs are all pretty nasty. They have a new singer called Jason, and he's an American guy with long hair and a beard. Who'd have thought it, eh?

Yeeah! [27 Feb 2002|11:33pm]
[ mood | calm ]
[ music | Pissing Razors - Season To Die ]

I had a fun day today. College was cool. Fallows has decided he's gonna make a film like Ocean's Eleven for his drama, and I'm gonna be in it! We shot a teaser trailer today, which was basically Kev, Dan, Fallows, Hannah, Dean and me walking down the street in slow motion. It's gonna be cool as... I'm playin' Devin Kerouac (yeah, I made up the name) who's a computer-nerd kinda guy, and I have to wear Dan's glasses, cuz they look the part, but MAN, they make my eyes hurt.

The rest of the college day was boring. I just sat around and spoke to Emily, who was on doorman duty for the first years' shoot. She was really bored so I just hung out with her for a while. Everyone says she's really weird and stalkerish, but she seems harmless enough... But it's the quiet ones you have to watch... o_O

I went to the bank to get some cash so I could get a burger, but the TWAT LADY couldn't see my signature on the back of my card. They're gonna send me a new one, which is completely unnecessary, and they're putting me through a lot of hassle just because some menopausal asshole can't SEE properly.

It was consultation evening at college, which is basically parents' evening but not as kiddish. Everyone just harped on about how great I am. It was quite embarrassing, but it kinda boosted my confidence. Mom said she was gonna complain to the insurance company to get my France money back. Which is good... She's the daddy of complaining.

My Hey Joe movie is gonna kick. Dad's band have recorded a version of the song, specially for MY movie. And that... RULES! Here's an excerpt from the script, because I bloody want to.

EXT. STREET. NIGHT.

JOE is walking along a dimly lit street. He is clutching a gun and muttering madly to himself. BARRY appears from a side-street, behind Joe.

BARRY: Hey Joe, where you goin' with that gun in your hand?

JOE is surprised, and tries to hide the gun.

JOE: Umm! Err, what gun, man? You crazy?

BARRY: That one there, a PP-57 with silencer and laser sight.

JOE loosens up. He puts his arm on BARRY's shoulder and takes him to one side.

JOE: Listen, man. You will absolutely NOT tell anyone what I'm about to say to you.

BARRY: Yeah dude, what's the problem?

JOE looks around cautiously.

JOE: (whispering) I'm gonna shoot my old lady. I caught her messin' round with another man.

BARRY: That ain't too cool.

----
Well yeah, I think it's gonna be ace. I'm way looking forward to it... Two more films to finish in the meantime though. And loads of music videos to be in, cos I'm the only one with a drum kit. Oh man...

Kirky gave me some new photos at practice yesterday. They're cool. I'm gonna put them on the site as soon as I have a free evening, which won't be until Friday... Yesterday it was Psychosis practice, today I didn't get online til 11 cuz of consultation evening, tomorrow it's Tupelo practice (which will be interesting as it's the first time we've been in a room together since November 2000) and Friday I got no plans... Might haveta go see the Mothman Prophecies, but I can do that in the daytime. I still ain't seen Don't Say A Word.

Ooh, Tatty just IM'd me. That reminds me, he gave me his demo the other day. The drumming on it really SUCKS. Don't mean to sound big-headed, but I coulda done it with my eyes closed. The songs are pretty cool though.

I'm gonna get the new Pissing Razors album tomorrow. They got it in Lichfield but I can't find it anywhere else. I'm fast becoming a big fan of theirs... Crap name though. I was listening to this song called "Tortured" earlier, and there's this line that goes "Exhume, bury, cremate" but it sounds like "It's so very creamy".

Holy shit, I typed loads! You all may be bored but I'm proud. Hahaha!

[ music | Jimi Hendrix - Hey Joe ]

Ah, HELL! Terry dropped something of a bombshell in college today... We were all like "Yeah, let's do this shit and go home for another week" and he goes "Just a second, I want ALL your drama scripts by Thursday and your music videos finished by next week!"

And I was like "Oh shit!"

But he'll probably put my deadline back, seeing as I was off sick for three weeks. Or at least I hope so. Writing scripts is super-fun though. Specially seeing as mine's already half-finished, thanks to the fact that it's basically "Hey Joe" with more bits.

But, man... I ain't finished my last movie yet. Gotta get busy.

Another test! Yes! [24 Feb 2002|07:02pm]
[ mood | disappointed ]
[ music | Devin Townsend - Mountain ]

(1) What is your name? Matthew Adams.
(2) If you had been born a member of the opposite sex, what would your name have been? Dunno, probably Jill or soemthing lame...
(3) Would you name a child of yours after you? No WAY, that'd be confusing. I knew a guy who was called Pete and he had a son called Pete, and it was just TOO weird watching the family have a conversation. It was like each Pete knew when he was being addressed.
(4) If you had to switch first names with a friend of yours, who would you switch with? Um... Jesus.
(5) What's the way people most often mispronounce any part of your name? I often have to explain how to say "Thew", cos people call me "Foo", "Few", "Threw" and even "Shrew" one time.
(6) If you were to become famous, would you drop your last name? Yeah.

DEEP THEOLOGICAL QUESTIONS
(7) Do you believe in the traditional view of Heaven and Hell? Nah. Heaven is whatever you want it to be and Hell is whatever you don't want it to be.
(8) Do you think God has a gender? He's always referred to as "Him" so I'm assuming He's a man...
(9) Do you think science counteracts religion? Yeah.
(10) Do you believe in organized religion? I don't really have an opinion.
[11] Where do you think we go when we die? We come back as seahorses or something.
(12) Do you feel a little funny thinking about the questions in this section? ...no, why would I?

HUMOUR
(13) How easy is it to make you laugh? Kinda. It's not like I'm Mr Giggles but I'm hardly Mr Stonefaced either.
(14) What person you know makes you laugh the most? Um, I dunno. Probably Dan.
(15) Do you laugh at jokes you know you shouldn't? Sometimes, unless they're so tasteless they're not funny.
(16) Do you tell jokes you know you shouldn't? I don't tell tasteless jokes to people I know would be offended by them.
(17) What words instantly make you laugh or at least smile? Um... "Bumrash", that's one. And "Pissflap".
(18) What do you think is the funniest thing you've ever said or written? I used to write these cool RPG things, and one of them I remember being REALLY funny, but I can't for the life of me remember what was in it...

MUSIC
(19) Do you ever dance to music when nobody's watching? I dance to music when people ARE watching.
(20) What is/are the worst song(s) I have this album by a band called Skulduggery, and all the songs on it are beyond awful.
(21) What song(s) do you wish you could understand a little better? Tool. What the HELL is going on there?
(22) What song(s) are constantly in your head? "These Eyes (Have Seen)" by Biohazard was in my head for most of last week.
(23) What song(s) do you think describe your personality best? Oh, man... Lesse. "Smash" by The Offspring.
(24) If you were to serenade the object of your affections, which song(s) would you use? That Monty Python song, "Sit On My Face".
(25) If the object of your affections were to serenade you, what song(s) would you hope he or she used? That one Whitney Houston did, "I Will Always Love Thew".

MOVIES
(26) What movie(s) do you love that nobody else seems to? Godzilla movies.
(27) Do you agree with the idea that sequels are always worse than the original? Not always, but most of the time.
(28) Who's your favorite Star Wars character? Yoda.
(29) What kind of movie do you think there should be more of? Heist movies, like Ocean's Eleven.
(30) What movie(s) do you simply not understand the appeal of? Movies with "popular sporting personalities" in, like Space Jam and Suburban Commando.

FOOD
(31) When eating, are you more concerned with taste or healthiness? Taste. You should see the amount of weight I've gained...
(32) What's your favorite kind of cheese? Brie.
(33) What do you think your answer to the previous question reveals about your personality? What the hell kinda quesiton is that?
(34) If you knew exactly what went into Chinese food, hamburger meat, etc., would you still eat it? Um, yeah.
(35) Do you ever feel guilty eating meat? Nah... Even if I didn't eat them, they'd die anyway.

COMPUTERS
(36) Mac or PC?: PC.
(37) How much do you actually care about the inner workings of your computer, as long as it works? Very little.
(38) Do you ever begin preferring IMs to other forms of conversation? I did for a while. Then I got out more.
(39) Do you find you're different talking through IMs than face-to-face or on the telephone? Yeah, cos with IMs you can consider your answer, face-to-face you've gotta be quick. I'm WAY cooler on the net.
(40) Have you ever ended bid on something on eBay and regretted it later? Nah, I don't use it.

THE BATTLE OF THE SEXES
(41) Have you ever wished you could experience being the other gender? Hasn't everyone?
(42) What do you love most about the other gender? Their hair.
(43) What do you dislike most about the other gender? The fact that none of them are interested.
(44) What do you understand least about the other gender? How they can possibly enjoy food shopping as much as they do.

CELEBRITIES
(45) Do you sometimes see a movie or watch a show just because good-looking celebrity is in it? Yeah, I wouldn't have watched Ocean's Eleven if Brad and George weren't in it...
(46) What celebrity's autograph do you want most? None! Autographs are really pointless!
(47) Have people ever said you looked like a celebrity, and if so, who? Everyones keeps telling me I look like the singer from Soil.
(48) If there was to be a movie about you, who do you think should play you (in personality, looks or both)? Chuck Norris, cuz nobody likes him either...
(49) Does it ever annoy you when you know someone is a celebrity but you can't remember why? Say what?
(50) If you could enter any celebrity's mind like in "Being John Malkovich", whose would you enter? Remember in Being John Malkovich, how everything went fucked? That'd ACTUALLY happen!
(51) Do you want to be John Malkovich? Nah, I'm good.

NUMBERS
(52) Do you laugh when you hear or read the number 69? No.
(53) Were you lying about your answer to the previous question? No.
(54) Do you actually know your Social Security Number? I know my national insurance number.
(55) Do you actually know your IP address? Not a clue.
(56) Do you know what an IP address is? Vaguely...
(57) Do you know the four-character extension on your ZIP code? Well, it's six digits and three of them are letters...
(58) Ever thought there were too many numbers floating around in our lives? ...Nah, I usually don't think about numbers.
(59) Does your head begin to hurt when you think of infinity, imaginary numbers, irrational numbers, etc.? What's an irrational number? And weren't "imaginary numbers" the clone people from Front Mission 3?
(60) What do you think of pi? I think, "3.14, but I could make an hilarious comment regarding the food, but I wont.".

LOVE, SEX AND ALL THAT
(61) Did you get a little frightened or uncomfortable seeing this as a section title? Um, not really.
(62) If someone you had no interest in dating expressed interest in dating you, how would you feel? I dunno, I suppose I'd feel pretty bad.
(63) Do you prefer getting to know someone first before dating them or going in "blind"? Going in blind sounds like a really bad idea, so I never actually tried it.
(64) Could you carry on a relationship with someone with the same first name as a family member? Probably...
(65) Have you ever wished it was more "socially acceptable" for a girl to ask a guy out? I wasn't aware there was a social problem with it...
(66) What's your opinion on sex without emotional commitment? Kinda pointless.
(67) Have you ever been romantically attracted to someone physically unattractive? I'm not even gonna answer that.
(68) Do you think the opposite sex finds you good-looking? Probably not.
(69) Would you be willing to give up sex in exchange for an emotional commitment you knew would last? Um, yeah, okay...
(70) Do you think the number of the last question was a coincidence? No...

POSSESSIONS
(71) What is your favorite possession? My CDs. All of them.
(72) What physical, tangible possession do you want most? A really BIG sword.
(73) How badly do you want it? I'd give my own arse.
(74) Have you ever seen 'The Exorcist'? Once or twice.
(75) How long did it take you to understand why the last question is in this section? I got it instantly, and it wasn't very funny.

HOLIDAYS
(76) Does Christmas music too far away from Christmas annoy you? Christmas music annoys me ALL the time.
(77) How old do you think you will be before you stop liking getting older? Probably about a year ago.
(78) What was the best Halloween costume you ever had? I only ever did one, and it was really crap.
(79) What was the worst Halloween costume you ever had? Well, I was supposed to have been attacked by piranhas, so I just got some old clothes and ripped them a bit, and put some fake blood on. I sjhoulda taken off a limb or two.
(80) What holiday do you think has still managed to retain its original meaning? Remembrance day, cos people haven't had chance to froget yet.
(81) There are currently no federal holidays during August- what should be put there? I dunno... "Kurt Cobain Day".

MEMORIES
(82) How good is your short-term memory? Pretty good.
(83) How good is your long-term memory? A bit crap. I often get dates wrong, and forget how long ago things were.
(84) What is your earliest memory? Falling off the garden prop and slicing my hand up. That was quite a bitch.
(85) What is your happiest memory (other than receiving this survey)? When I went to see that waterfall in Wales. It was SO cool.
(86) What is your strangest memory? All mine are pretty mundane.
(87) What song, movie, etc. do you wish you could memorize? That fucked-up Will Haven effort that we cooked up in practice. I can't even remember how it goes.

TEARS
(88) What movie makes/made you cry? Uh, I used to cry at a lot of movies, but since I started watching LOADS of them , none do anymore.
(89) What book makes/made you cry? Fraid I don't read many books... I wanna, but I don't.
(90) What song makes/made you cry? A few Type O Negative ones, and "Timelessness" by Fear Factory.
(91) What makes/made you laugh so hard you cried? Stand-up often does.

THREE TRULY RANDOM QUESTIONS
(92) Would you like to be cloned? No way man, clones have big-ass blood vessels that their lungs can't cope with.
(93) Do you wish you could be alive when the world was ending, just to experience it? Yeah man, that'd be wicked...
(94) Scaramouche, scaramouche, will you do the fandango? Will I fuck!

THIS SURVEY
(95) Do you think that one hundred and one questions is too long? Nothing better to do.
(96) Do you think the one hundred interesting questions actually were interesting? ...Some of them were a bit fucked up.
(97) Are you sorry you began filling it out? I get the sneaking suspicion I've done it before.
(98) What question do you wish it had asked? Something like "Why are you so damn cool".
(99) How would you have answered it? "I just am, man, it's the way I was born".

THE TWO MOST IMPORTANT QUESTIONS
(100) When was the last time you let the people you love know you love them? Y'know, I can't actually remember.
(101) What do you want the people who are reading this survey to know? Don't do drugs! Stay in school!

I dunno why, but I REALLY wanna listen to black metal. I'm TOTALLY looking forward to doing this Nigrescent thing... It's just fun to play black metal. Nothing quite like it for double-kick and blastbeats. Not to mention ridiculous song titles. But hey, I love it.

I got Skinlab's "Eyesore" EP today. What a fucking waste of money that was. It's got crap demos of "So Far From The Truth" and "When Pain Comes To Surface", a crap live version of "Paleface", a crap-ish Brujeria cover, and a REALLY crap "exclusive" track called "Noah", which sounds like a reject from the first album. It's even got the same riff as "Promised". Damn me and my completist ways...

Anyway, website-ho!

Goddamn... I think the fever's coming back. I felt simply bloody terrible at college, and I couldn't work in Ben & Jerry's cos I would have given everybody Chocolate Fudge & Disease Chunks... But I still had to wash up all the shitty nacho cheese warmers. It was gay.

Heehee, there were all these kids, like thirty or forty, watching Ocean's Eleven, so I had to keep an eye on them... New Guy Mark had already had a go at a couple of them for smoking, so every time I even stuck my head inside they'd all shut up and sit perfectly still... One time I went in and some of them were chatting, and one of them just let out this really loud gasp and said "Oh my God, I'm sorry!" And when I left, her mate was like "Fucking Hell Leanne, you're such a ditzy bastard!" Dirty mouth for such a young lady, but oh, how I laughed... then sneezed, and coughed for a little while, and such... I'll get better.

Aww man... how sweet are those kitties?

I'm probably gonna change that little bloke. He only seems to have like three different expressions.
I wonder what "Quixotic" means?

Last night I had this dream that I missed the bus and was late for college. Then I woke up, missed the bus and was late for college. Shame the only dreams that come true are the really predictable ones...

I saw Selina for a brief moment when I was waiting for the bus. It was really weird. She's gonna join the army. I dunno why she wants to do that... But she's gonna put it off for a year so she can have a boob job. Silly tart.

Yeah, the MOVIE! I edited it together today and it's really cool. Um, you'd have to see it, but it rules. It's got porn star music over really mundane shit, like interviews. Emily and Hayley showed up when I was editing it, which was a bit of a surprise...

I felt like crap this morning. I hope the glandularness isn't coming back... Because of that bastard I got paid £0.00 this week. Sure, the time off was cool, or it would have been if I didn't feel like crap all the time, but money loss is really crap.

Band practice kicked ass. It seems to have done us good to have a break, we were really tight... But now, my ears are ringing so bad I can hardly hear anything. And as usual, my arms are covered in cuts and scratches I didn't even notice.

I did some shooting today, Kev and Dean did very well as the "cute disabled man" and the "nasty smart interviewer". It was TOTALLY slapstick. Probably gonna edit it tomorrow, or just shoot some more. I'm totally buzzed about this film, man... it's gonna be shit, but kick ass. I'm gonna put on some really stoopid music, like when Alex is typing it's gonna be the end of Calgone by Incubus, with the Barry White kinda voice going "Yeeeah, baybaeeyyyy, oh that's the funky sheeaaaat..." Yeah. This is gonna be SO awesome!

barutazaru@hotmail.com

And, uh, Rich... could you send me that "Website" mail again? Another.com won't let me fucking READ it unless I give them fifteen quid.

But anyway... shooting tomorrow, hopefully. I'm getting Kev to be the "Cute Disabled Man" and Dean is the "Smart Nasty Interviewer". I'm taking my white tie so he can have a complete Hives look. It's gonna be cool.

Hee, I feel slightly better now. I'm all fired up for this... An' with any luck Evig Bedrovelse will be happening this year. Yeah, that'll be really cool.

Ooh, here comes dinner...
