Bleh! went to the office again today. Lameness :p I read something interesting though (not verbatim but here it goes):
"Some people work doing things they love, Some people work to do the things they love."
How many of us are really in the first group?

3:54 am - Conspiracy Theory
|
Man, see what hunting down an expression can lead you into? Sheesh freaky.
I was reading some would-be haXor's proposed slogan for DefCon9 and they said "even the illuminati fear us".... so after having heard this reference many times (even in TuPac lyrics) but never really following up on it I decided to look it up myself...
After reading two sides on this (an atheist side and a christian side) I find that my suspicions have some basis afterall. I've always believed in the existence of such secret societies working towards their own cloaked agendas.
I've also always believed we're all in some gang in some form or another (families, groups of friends, sports teams, companies, countries). The cliched "birds of a feather" routine is very for real when it comes to these secret societies.
I still say the wealthiest man on earth is not publicly known to be so.
[Some weird, yes really weird stuff I came upon while looking things up.... like the Lilith project at Sandia Labs. http://www.light1998.com/EXPLANATION.htm
No I'm not a weirdo fundamentalist or anything, just a curious onlooker if you will... http://members.tripod.com/~RobertGillette/Illuminati.html]

Looking for houses can be a pain. It is somewhat amazing how many old ass houses are for sale in Chicago. Its as if you have to move to east bumble to get a *new* home. Oh well :)
Oh well the upside is I got some new DVDs today. Leon The Professional is quite good. I think I need to watch more Luc Besson films.

10:44 pm - Chicago Autoshow
|
Went to the autoshow today. There was a street hustler wandering about trying to sell people "discount" tickets. "Fi' Dollahz insteada Teyen." Esco, his dad and I all denied, after all the tickets were really $8, never $10. Esco's dad thought the guy was selling weekday tickets (which were $5) but today being Sunday and all...
What a shady bastard hahaha. I feel bad because he was wearing an Illnois "Clean Air Team" worksuit. Sh*t does this mean that shady @ss people like this work in those emissions facilities? Yet another reason to keep an eye on these fools when they put your vehicle on the rollers... (In retrospect this guy had to be pretty hurtin to be peddling these bogus-well expired anyhow-tickets, I wonder what he had to go home to after the show.)
Inside the show you ask? Hrmm sameO lameO, cars cars trucks vans cars cars. Subaru WRX is here, finally, but is still butt ugly. Maybe Mitsubishi will get a clue and bring the Lancer EVO VII. New 03 Viper is pretty impressive but the current gen GTS are still the best looking.
Perhaps the most interesting was the SLK32 AMG (I wasn't expecting such a diminutive car to have 350hp and 327ft/lbs of torque... then again it *is* supercharged). The most interesting non-car thing at the show? Probably the Jeep display, a huge computer-controlled waterfall that could make simple graphics out of falling water as well as words.

Now what could be more fun than virtually killing your friends? Especially when its stupid cold outside.
I'm telling you 4 player N64 games could easily make you stay up until 4:30AM. Oh yeah they do, they did. Epyon, Escobar, and Uncle Benny all played. Battle Tank64 and GoldenEye are dope.

Went to the office. *annoying* I wonder how the droids/trolls are feeling today. One of them, the cooler one, brought a magazine and left it on my desk sometime before 9AM. One of the mainstream car rags, but had a cool article on an overgrown Corvette--the Mosler MT900. I still say you're better off buying a Z06 and modifying it, but then again I'm not a Corvette kinda guy.

11:08 pm - Valentine's Day

All was well. Wife got me a cool game for the PS2 and a DVD :)
You know what? We went to an alright Italian restaurant. Me and some friends had reservations for dinner at 7:30 but by 8:10 we still hadn't been seated.
We left. What's the point to reservations if you don't get seated right away when you are there for the reserved time? Weird.... we ended up having Sashimi and Sushi instead.
I dunno but the foiled dinner plans sort of reinforced the unexplainable irritation I had felt because of strangers--especially strangers in crowds today. Isn't it weird when you're walking around in a public place and it seems like people are aimlessly walking into your path--and not paying attention?
Call me anti-social (not!), but sometimes I think it'd be fun to have an electric cattle-prod like device built into a jacket. That way people that invade your space get a nice 200,000 Volt surprise reminder :)
I must be getting old and "crotchety". I can hear myself now "You damn kids! Get outta my yard!"
Oh well happy V-day.

11:14 pm - Trolls under the bridge....
|
Emerging from dense canopy of trees he noticed that he sun shone brightly admist a nearly cloudless sky. He peered across the wooden bridge that lay before him.
Through the planks one could vaguely see the darkened water rushing by below. He thought this would be as good as place as any to stop and read the book. "Plenty of light", he decided. So into the rucksack he went and returned shortly with the book.
As he sat with legs dangling over the edge of the bridge, he heard something over the rustling of the leaves and the sound of the coursing water. Interrupted, he put the book down beside him, unopened and then he turned about and looked through the gaps in the planks into the shadowed landscape below.
It was then he heard the sounds again, the distinct sounds of trolls speaking. "So it is true," he thought to himself, "their tongues are as foul as their scent."
"Hey shut the h#ll up you annoying bastards before I piss on you!"
Silence. A smirk appeared across his face as he went back to reading the book, knowing he was safe in the bright sunlight....
[Now back to reality] Today I had to go into the office. Not a bad deal really, but considering that my boss and my boss' boss both interviewed me and told me that I was never expected to be in the office....
In fact they told me that my position was a remote position and that I would be receiving additional hardware for my house.....
Well evidently two inside sales trolls had noticed that sometimes I was in the office and sometimes I wasn't and wanted in on the deal as well. The funny thing is they're not even in my department and did not accept their positions with the same expectations and promises I was given when I accepted mine [READ: "You don't have to come in when you're not at a client site"].....
Bah enough of my ranting... Piss on them.
No offense to the sales folks out there but these particular characters are such no-knowledge cretins that they would have a hard time getting common decency from a garbage man or sailor with their language. The f*ckers. *grin*
[For some reason the DMX song "Do You" came to mind when I thought of these playa haters today.]

2:06 pm - Day 1 (well really Day 2, I signed up yesterday heh)
|
Hrmmm what to write here... well then I think I'll at least list down the things going through my mind and leave it up to memory and association later to interpret what I was up to today :)
In no particular order... -zen rock gardening -1Mbps USB adaptor -Vison of Escaflowne -waag.com -jaosusa.com -(770) xxx-yyyy -how did my pal Epyon's weekend go (particularly Saturday afternoon) -tcl/tk -wireless phone bill -PS2 -hot sunlight with snow still on the ground -Phantom Quest Corp -illinois state lottery -dancemania 2001 -Sun-tzu's Art of War -92.7FM
Why do this [livejournal] you may ask. Hrmm well for me I guess its good to be able to look back and see what I was doing on a given day. I figure its a good mental and spiritual exercise to track how you spend your life. Or maybe even to try and recapture a feeling or state.
[ASIDE: Don't spend too much time tracking what you're going to do with your life instead of actually living it]
My thoughts on why public journals are interesting:
What do you all get out of it? Heh what I *hope* is that perhaps either something I experience may shed light on something you may experience--or maybe a comment from one of you may help me gain a different and valued perspective on my approach to daily existence. (I for one believe that as humans we by nature stumble through life... we really don't have all the answers--at least not individually we don't)
