OKAY TO CROSS |
[06 Jul 2002|09:59pm] |
Look across the road at the streetlights. Consider their limitedness, and you’re own blindness!
For if they shall command my movement - or stance, and I fall dead… Who is to blame?
Be like this moment, planted in the single uprightness of being. Not one step forward Not one step behind.
A look beyond that, Is to leave the present - It’s true existence.
Do not count on reliable council for best advice. Leave that to the churchgoers, To not look both ways As they stand in place Pointing toward the jaywalker. ~Maralena

i bet the government won't take no for an answer either. Smallpox Vaccination Decision Near Smallpox Attack Could Require Many More Vaccinations Than Estimated, Federal Health Officials Say
The Associated Press
W A S H I N G T O N, July 6 — A widespread smallpox attack could require vaccinating many more Americans than the estimated 10,000 to 20,000 first responders recommended by a government panel for the shots, federal health officials say.
A decision about who to vaccinate against the virus is expected by month's end from Health and Human Services Secretary Tommy Thompson. ( more )

Walgreens in conjunction with Pharma_company Lilly sent out one week samples of prozac to certain doctors' patients. the ones not taking prozac. no can explain how the samples that i'm sure came packaged, labeled as what it was and with a letter written by?????
Woman Sues After Receiving Prozac The Associated Press, Wed 3 Jul 2002
WASHINGTON (AP) — A Florida woman opened her mailbox last month to find a free box of once-a-week Prozac from her pharmacy chain — astonishing, she says, since she didn't use Prozac and hadn't asked her doctor to switch her from another antidepressant to it.
It's not clear how many other patients received unsolicited Prozac — the woman's attorneys say they know of two more so far — or if the apparent campaign to sign up new Prozac customers extended beyond south Florida.
Prozac maker Eli Lilly & Co. issued an apology for the incident late Friday and says it's investigating. The Food and Drug Administration is watching closely.
The Prozac mailings may mark the first time a powerful prescription drug was sent to patients neither expecting nor wanting new pills — an apparent twist on marketing campaigns to persuade patients to switch medications. ( more )

Everything but the girl before today (chicane remix) |
] |
Time has had a way of slipping past me and out of the grasp of my reaching fingers. I am not altogether comfortable with that as I tend to desire the langour of long summer days and nights. I tend to long for slow sleepy winters as well, so who am I kidding with the referance to this balmy season. Antique wicker picnic baskets, red wine, dinner on a high cliff overlooking the ocean at Cynthia's and Greg's. The children gone accross the sea to visit my parents farm and I am left in the silence of sunbeams and jade plants in ceramic pots. Today, I took myself to lunch at the Star fish resteraunt. I sat outside in the wind and the sun, my white silk scarf whipping in the wind like a short stringed kite. I love the feel of a scarf around my neck, the slight pressure of silky cloth is comforting to me. I read Ishmael, longed for my paper journal and ate grilled halibut, rice and salad. I enjoy taking myself to lunch. I don't do well when I don't have enough solitude and I haven't had enough of it lately. It makes my blood boil and my head pound to be around too many people. My sense of things become fragmented as does my ability to concentrate. I want to shut out the world today, all it's noise and hustle. I want to kick off my shoes and walk at the waters edge, and stare at the wave patterns on the sand until I am dizzy. Then I will lay down, not minding that my dress gets wet from the shallow tide washing in and out and I will forget that I am a grown up, someone who has to think about things like work, bills, and responsibilities. The moments will slow until I feel like a child again with nothing but now, and the scent of seaweed in my hair.

Sandford Orcas Manor, Dorset, England
Sandford Orcas Manor House is a lovely example of the small Manor Houses that once studded England in Tudor times. The small, 16th Century Manor House is complete with arched gatehouse, stable courtyard and walled garden. It was built from local Ham Hill stone on the foundations of a medieval house, and it remains virtually unaltered, inside as well as out.
Only three families have owned the land, Orescuilz family, Knoyle family and now the Medlycott family, which has been in residence now for the last 263 years.
It seems a great deal of sinister goings-on have taken place in the house at one time or another, including the murder of an employer by his servant, and also a young sea cadet who, after killing one of his friends, was locked in a room for the rest of his life.
It has been regarded as "the most haunted manor house in Britain." The ghost of an eighteenth century farmer has been seen on many occasions, wandering around the house and its gardens. As the story goes, he hanged himself from a trap door in the house, and even though the door has long since been boarded up, the farmer still roams around. A rather sinister ghost of a footman is claimed to have been seen throughout the Manor House and is thought to have preyed on serving maids when he was alive. A priest is also thought to haunt the Manor House and, rather terrifyingly, attempts to smother sleeping guests with his cloak. Amongst the other ghostly inhabitants are an old ‘White Lady’ who has be seen on the stairs, the sound of music coming from an empty room, and the sound of footsteps walking down empty corridors. Also there was reports of a nobleman haunting the Manor House, this was said to be one Sir Hubert Medlycott, who was also a priest.
For more than twenty years from 1966, there were numerous reports of various ghost sightings and ghostly activity. No recent reports. Colonel and Mrs F. Claridge and their daughter and son-in-law were witnesses to apparent paranormal activity here as were Mrs Gates of Taunton, Mrs M. Gallo of Hinton, Admiral Mrs J.N. Grange-Bennett of Poole, a BBC production team, Benson Herbert, and a team from the Paraphysical Laboratory who said, after a night or so at the house: 'there is a prima facie case for this house being haunted'.
Sandford Orcas Manor House Open: May - September, Monday-10am to 6pm, Sunday-2pm to 6pm Public Admission: Adult £2.50, Child £1 Telephone: 01963 220206 (Sandford Orcas garden is 2.5 miles north of Sherborne, 4 miles south of the A303)

Littledean Hall, Gloucestershire, England Littledean Hall is reputedly England's oldest inhabited house. The house has Saxon and Celtic remains in the cellars dated to before 11th century, and is believed to have originated in 5th or 6th century. The grounds contain many trees of great age as well as the recently discovered and restored site of a major Roman temple.
The front of the house is 17th century but its origins go back much further. Littledean Hall was the home of the Lords of Dene from before the Norman Conquest, and contains in the cellar the only remains of a Saxon hall known in England. A 'Ghost Tour' takes in a host of apartments woven with spectral lore, from phantom bloodstains in the dining room to a boy on the landing.
Open daily 11.00am -5.00pm every day April until Oct. 31. Adults £3.50, children under 16 £1.50, Senior citizenss £2.50. Phone: 01594 824213 Fax: 01594 827337 (On A4151, 1.5 miles east of Cinderford)

Okay. Before you click below, please understand my camera isn't really what we like to call the best quality digicam in the world. As a matter of fact, we shouldn't call it anyting with words that can even relate to "best" or "quality". Anyway, you get the picture.
I have 5 tats, and when I can figure out how to take a decent pic of the other two, I will post them also. For now, just these three. :)
