FAQ Question
What are the different account types? When viewing a user's info page you can see what their account type is. The type is one of:
"Free Account" - This is the default account type. Free Account holders have the abilty to:
* Upload up to 3 user icons.
* Choose from any of the 10 system styles for their journal layout.
* Generate 1 invitation code, which is available 1 week after the journal is created.
"Early Adopter" - All journals created before mid-September 2000 are considered Early Adopters. Early Adopters have the ability to:
* Upload up to 6 user icons.
* Use the Directory.
* Create and edit custom styles and have exact control over their journal's layout.
* A personalized subdomain name (http://yourusername.livejournal.com rather than http://www.livejournal.com/users/yourusername).
* A base of 15 invitation codes.
"Paid Account" - Paid Account holders have a wide range of benefits available to them. A full list of these benefits can be viewed at:

"Permanent Account" - Permanent Account holders are usually LiveJournal developers or have contributed a significant amount of time or money to the project. In addition to having full access to the Paid Account benefits with no set expiration date, Permanent Account holders have the ability to:
* Upload up to 15 user icons, rather than the 10 allowed to Paid Accounts.
