What is the auto add friends link on the bio pages?

So long as you are logged in (http://www.livejournal.com/login.bml) you will see this option on a user's bio page - a small icon with a "+" next to the username of the person who's bio you are reading. When you click on that icon that user will be added to your friends list.

*note* If you are not logged in or if the user is already on your friends list then this icon will not appear.
