About	This community is the home of LiveJournal's User Documentation team. Projects underway here include: Maintenance of this site's Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) database. Writing a comprehensive set of Guides and References describing How to Use This Site. Documenting Volunteer Activities at this site. Writing a Quick Start Manual for users of other sites built around LJ's open-source software. All LiveJournal users are welcome to join this community. If it interests you, you're strongly encouraged to check out lj_support and lj_sysdoc as well. If you watch this community, you'll sometimes see posts about specific tasks that are available for someone to work on. Mostly, though, we need more people to take the initiative by reading through the existing documentation (listed on the main Support page) and writing improvements. There are plenty of ways to improve the FAQs by explaining features that aren't yet documented, or by explaining something more clearly, or by updating the documentation when the site is changed. Here are some recommendations for anyone who'd like to start helping here: Add lj_support to your friends list. Keep an eye on the discussions there and on the Support Requests from users, so that you know what issues are giving users the most difficulty. Join this community, too (using the link at the top of this page), and let us know how the documentation can be improved. In general, we prefer posts from experienced volunteers to include the new or updated text that you'd like to see put online. While you're getting started, though, you might be wise to post about an idea before you spend much time working on it. That way, we can point you to an existing page you might have missed, or tell you about any planned changes that would affect your contribution.
