*waves* So I went to Leicester...saw Beg To Differ at The Attick...very cool!!! They were being supported by a ska/punk band and a Tool-esque band. The ska/punk band weren't all that. they weren't playing the same thing at the same time (a good idea for bands). The Tool-esque band (New Hole In The Head) were quite good...but their songs were too long and samey. Thank god for B2D!!! They rocked as always!!!
Abbey Park festival was cool Saw some wicked bands...
Bro's band (Wurlitzer) played. Very cool...they've got SO much better live!!! I was 'flyering' during their set and took a few photos. After their set we packed away...then later on...some fuck broke into my bro's car and nicked a bag with all the band's guitar pedals and leads. CUNTS!!! Somewhere near £600-worth of equipment. So that kinda spoilt the day.
I was knackered after the night before so when everyone else went out I stayed in and watched TV/DVDs. Then I got called round the corner to Timmy's house. Me, Timmy, Jon and Justin watched a Royal Rumble from 1991 (when I USED to watch wrestling). Then were had pizzas...errr...I was drunk so I don't really remember much. Overall it was a good weekend.
That's about it.
I don't know...errr....
Bye! (D'ya wanna rock 'til your shoes fall off?) | Monday, August 5th, 2002 | 10:14 pm |
God...I MUST update more regularly Well...maybe if I actually had anything to say!!! Errrmm....well...firstly I think I deserve a round of applause because (if I remember correctly) I havn't bought anything since the last update!!! *bows* yes...thank you, thank you I'm going up to Leicester on friday (for the weekend) to see my bro, and to go to an all-day music thing (where bro's band are playing). Should be fun. Errr...at the weekend I did two gigs with Hatfields of Colchester (brass band). They're SO good!!! I was depping as solo horn!! Errr....yeah. that's it!!! I have no life...I'm just working. C-ya'll later! Current Mood: thirstyCurrent Music: Gentle hum of my computer (D'ya wanna rock 'til your shoes fall off?) | Sunday, July 28th, 2002 | 9:18 pm |
So yeah...this week!!! Wednesday I went down to lakeside with Big Dave to choose some hair dye...saw Susie and Nicola while we were there. Thursday I went to see Fat Chicks In Party Hats at the Castlemayne (is that spelt right? who cares?!) supporting Spankboy. Fat Chicks were very kewl...well I co-wrote one of their songs *sweeps back hair* so they've gotta be good ;-) Spankboy were excellent...I was really impressed by them. Bought a t-shirt and a CD...plus I took some photos. Friday was Surfa. It was cheesy wig night so I went as Elvis...but had to go without the wig for a while coz it was just TOO hot!!! Yesterday I went over to see Lisa in the evening...was really good to see her. Caught up about various things. So what have I bought recently? I got Transformers:The Move and Monty Python and the Holy Grail on DVD, the new Reel Big Fish album, plus I got Psycho-A-Go-Go - Sin City, Butch Walker - Left Of Self-Centered and a Chasers t-shirt from Changes One. Butch Walker is great!!! If you get a chance, try to listen to My Way from his album. It's a really good song. Oh yeah, and I just ordered (from Changes One)... The Cheesemakers - White Trash, Darrell Bath - Love And Hurt, The Egos - Where Egos Dare and Streetwalkin Cheetahs/Broken Teeth - In Rock We Trust. I really stop spending so much...but it's SO fun!!! Password? Yeha...so just after I added that last message I got a message from "the livejournal server" saying that my password is too easy to guess and that i should change it.
Now...I don't think it is too easy. Wanna prove me wrong?!
Ok
First person to guess my password gets....gets....errrr.....well I don't know what yet...but it will be a prize of such amazingnes that it might improve on a Jive Bunny album!!!
So go on...I DARE YA!!! (8 sets of shoes fell off | D'ya wanna rock 'til your shoes fall off?) | 9:00 pm |
So yeah... The concert was cool. Ended up knowing even more people!!! Steuart was there playing tuba and Claire Parker was there playing trumpet (both I know through brass band). Gave Lauren a lift home and had a long chat.
But yeah...nowt really today. Won't promise an update coz I never know when it's gonna happen!!! (4 sets of shoes fell off | D'ya wanna rock 'til your shoes fall off?) | Friday, July 19th, 2002 | 11:54 pm |
So yeah... Blimey...2 updates...in 2 days!!! I'm just goin kerazy!!!
So tonight I went to Rochford to rehearse with the South Essex Youth Symphony Orchestra for the concert tonight. Was kewl...and knew people there (Lauren Cave, Hannah Woolmer, Andy Ashman-Jones and Chris Ward) . It wasn't too bad. concert tomorrow. I used to fancy Hannah...like...err...quite a lot. Dunno why now. But hey...she's still very nice...and I wouldn't kick her outta bed for eatin biscuits!!
On the way home I got Metal Hammer with the 6-page 10-year Wildhearts feature. Very cool!!!
Listenin to Beatallica at the mo...fuckin hilarious!!! Beatles Songs done in the style of Metallica!!!

Jeesus...took me long enough So here I am...ok...so it's not last week...it's not last weekend (hell...it's nearly THIS weekend!!!) but I'm back!! Ok...don't be too excited!!! So I've done SO much since I last updated...I can't remember it all...but I'll try my best!!! So I saw Tenacious D at the Astoria. Twas very cool. Dave Grohl introduced them (which made it cool enough anyway!) and it was just Jack Black And Kyle Gass on acoustic guitars...but the gig itself was great!!! Good songs (including a 'cover' of Blackbird by The Beatles...but with different lyrics!!!) and amusing 'in-between bits' (various comedy interludes and videos on a big screen). Didn't buy anything (merch-wise) coz the only thing I (just) had enough for was a Cum Rag...errr....no thanks!!! So yeah. That was that. TMF the next day...I won't go into everything but there was a cool ska band on the Blues etc stage, some excellent bands on the \m/ METAL \m/ stage including Nothing (need to get some of their stuff on CD) and Whoremoan (am GETTING their CDs!). Various other bands who were cool but I'll be buggered if I can remmeber their names!!! Rachel Stamp were very cool. I won't go into details coz anyone who really cares was probably there, if they weren't they'll have found out details by now...and Bex did such a good job I won't try to compete!!! While I was there I bought Metallica - S&M; for £12 and The Best Of Dire Straits for £8. Not a bad bargain me thinks. Sooo....what else? (y'see Bex...I'm splittin up the paragraphs...*whispers to everyone else* she moans if I don't). I've bought various things over the last few weeks including my first DVDs (Metallica - Cunning Stunts, Friends - Series 1 and Simpsons - Series 1&2), some new CDs (Green Day - Shenanigans, The Best Of The Wildhearts (2CD Japanese), Take That - Greatest Hits (look...£1 for that?! HAVE to get it...purely for the CHEESE factor!!!), The Best Of Victor Silvester (LONG story...if you're REALLY interested...ask me!!!) and a couple of Jellys singles). Been working...and working...and working. Was doing 47 hours a week...am now doing 49 hours. It's long...but time don't (usually) drag and I'm gettin mucho cash for it!!! I'm cultivating a bit of a goatee at the mo...I think it looks a bit pathetic at the mo...but I'm still going...and I've had a few people comment on how it looks kinda cool and how it makes me look older...so I'm seeing how far I can grow it (ZZ Top here I come!!!). Am playing with South Essex Youth Symphony Orchestra on saturday for a concert. Doing a rehearsal tomorrow night for that...and will be getting paid! Dad moaned at me for spending too much in the car today...but I figure...hey...I'm having fun with it!!! I actually think that's about it...coz I'm only skimming the major stuff. So with that, I'm off to watch some Simpsons!!! Current Mood: exhaustedCurrent Music: Green Day - Shenanigans (D'ya wanna rock 'til your shoes fall off?) | Saturday, July 13th, 2002 | 4:33 pm |
Havn't written an update yet...will do one at a stupidly early time tomorrow morning But while I'm here... I am 12% Grunge I will get out of your sight. I'm pathetic! With my clean clothes, and nice smell. I think I took the wrong test, thank god, huh? Take the Grunge Test at fuali.com Oh and Bev...The Wildhearts are playing at the Astoria in October. Thought you might like to know. (5 sets of shoes fell off | D'ya wanna rock 'til your shoes fall off?) | 9:48 am |
Can I just say... FUCKIN BASTARDS!!!!!!!!!!!
Last night I was up til about 4am on the net and I wrote a huge update (took about an hour to do).
When I went to click update, it decided to not update, to take me to the login page (even though I've got it set to 'Expire never') and deleted my entire update.
Bastards.
I'm gonna try to re-write one later (D'ya wanna rock 'til your shoes fall off?) | Tuesday, July 9th, 2002 | 8:54 pm |
I am 19% Internet Addict I am amazed that I even found this test. This is my first time online, isn't it great, I figured out this AOL-thing! But I don't quite know how to turn the computer off. Take the Internet Addict Test at fuali.com ---------------------------------------- --
Well...I'm glad I only got that!!! what with being 19% addicted, you don't update your journal often enough!!! Sorry everyone...but it's Dave's fault!!! Anytime I'd usually get to write an update is taken up with spell-checking his!!!

So yeah...stuff happened!!! I've done a whole week of work. My legs are achy coz of standing there all the time. At the end of a 'sider' (puts bits of plasticy stuff down the side of planks of wood) taking bits of wood from the machine...and piling them up. D'ya know wot...I'm glad I'm at uni studyin for a degree...otherwise I don't think I'd be able to do it(!) Err....I've been tryin to write stuff in here for about half an hour...I just think I ain't got much to say. Oh yeah...I'm gettin The Jellys - Welcome To Our World from Changes One!!! I can't wait!!! *everyone nods in agreement to humour Jon until he shuts up* And I've just downloaded 3 MP3s of my bro's band (www.mp3.com/wurlitzer). very kewl. Losing My Mind sounds wicked!!! I'm gonna go now. I'll probably update again (properly) by the end of the weekend. God...why don't I update this as much when I'm home?! God knows. I mean the last tuesday I updated I was going to a pub quiz with my dad and two of our friends...the next update was thursday...and did I mention that we won it and I got a free bottle of wine?! NO!!! What am I like?! I can't really remember what I did for the rest of last week...general bummin around i think. Waitin for job to start this week. Watched the England game friday morning...got to before half-time and came online to get away from boredom (it was a crap game...let's be honest here). Friday afternoon I went to Basildon to get a guitar strap...ended up buying the Freddie Mercury Trbute conert video and Queen Live at Wembley '86 CD as well. My guitar strap is loverly...black with barbed wire running along it. Will do very nicely for my gig in *EEEKK* two days!!! Friday night went to Surfer and had a good time. Shame Bev weren't there but hey...her choice. Had a good laugh and saw some people I ain't seen in a while. Won't do a full list coz it's the usuall suspects...apart from Andrew Hardy (think that's how his name's spelt). I can't remember the last time I saw him...no...maybe it was last November!! So Saturday was spent doing random musicy things that I can't be bothered to write on here (coz you probably don't care!!!). Saturday night went to Sinead's coz she's goin Kenya for about a month on Friday. Was nice to say bubbeye...and nice to meet a load of new people that I kinda recognised (probably from Surfer and the like) but never knew. Sunday...sunday...sunday. Had a meal with rents, aunt and uncle. Was nice. in the evening went to pub (folk/music night) and...get this...was actually asked to play for once!!! Only problem was that I didn't expect this...I didn't have my guitar and was as pissed as a badger!!! They supplied me with a guitar...but I was stil pissed!!! Managed to get through Ginger - Don't Let Me Die Lonely and The Wildhearts - Truth. But I was glad that I got to play. next week is a total open floor noght so (according to my mother!!!) I've got to rehearse something I can do..."that people will actually know" rather than the obscure stuff that I love!!! So yesterday I started this new job. It's in a kitchen furniture warehouse. Nice and simple and despite working 7am til 5pm, the day goes pretty quickly. On a completely different note, I've been downloading loadsa random kids TV themes and cheesy songs. At this very moment I'm downloading DR Demento - Star Treking!!! All together now... Star treking across the universe, On the Starship Enterprise under Captain Kirk, Star treking across the universe, Boldly going forward coz we can't find reverse!!! I love it!!! WOO-HOO!!! So anyway...the reason I smelt of potatoes and sweat (incase any of you were wondering!!!) is that I was working at Tilbury Docks on tuesday. In a warehouse emptying a ship of potatoes. There were 20kilo and 25kilo sacks. there were about 50 sacks on each pallet. And there were over 2000 pallets *uses brain* that's over 100,000 sacks of potatoes. WHY WOULD ANYONE EVER NEED THAT MANY POTATOES?!?! So yeah...happiness was that yesterday I got my package from Changes One with...*deep breath* I got the Box Car Racer album, the Danny Frye And The Devil Dolls album (for FREE!!!), the Plan A video and 7" single set, and two Yo-Yo's 7" singles!!! So that was nice!! Also worked out how to use the CD-Writer on my new PC. Have already made Yo-Yo's B-sides CD and a 3 Colours Red B-sides CD(to save changing CDs every 2 songs!). Have copied the Yo-Yo's album for Kev. my latest plan is to make a Foo Fighters B-sides CD. Today I'm goin down to Matt's to practice for our gig (shit...it's a week today!!!). Need to make sure we know each other's songs...sort out harmonies for definate!! The thing with us is that we can pretty easily whack a harmony line in (just coz we've always been able to do it). That's why most of our songs end up with atleast 2 vocal lines...but we never decide for certain on what the harmony line is so we always blag it on the night!!! We might sort out some covers to do as well. Oh well...I've gotta go and make a lasagne for tonight. See y'all later P.S. Why is no-one updating...apart from Ruth and Dave? You've got no excuse!!! Dave's in America (in Boston) and hasn't got access to a computer...yet he still manages to update more frequently than some of ya!!! Only kiddin!!! Love ya really Current Mood: happyCurrent Music: The Yo-Yo's B-sides (4 sets of shoes fell off | D'ya wanna rock 'til your shoes fall off?) | Tuesday, June 18th, 2002 | 5:34 pm |
So yeah I bought my ticket for Thurrock Music Festival today!!! Rachel Stamp, Hell Is For Heroes (and many others) for just £5!! Top notch. Havn't had anything from Changes One yet. I assume it'll be here tomorrow. Well I bought High Fidelity, Mallrats and Dogma yesterday...so I'm off to watch them (just after I have a shower to stop myself smelling of sweat and potatoes...will explain later!!!) ( in disguise as HMV staff)" If Scenerio 1 happens...I'm gonna order Box Car Racer's album and get Danny Frye And The Devil Dolls' album FREE!!! If Scenerio 2 happens, Tun's gonna get my Jive Bunny - The Album Either way...it's a WIN WIN WIN situation for me!!! God... How have I gone so long without updating?! God knows why!! I've been rehearsing and drinking a lot probably. I'm supposed to be sorting out all my stuff and putting it back into my room...y'know...sorting it all out. I really can't be bothered. I'm downloading all of 3 Colours Red's videos. They're quite cool...I'd only seen This Is My Hollywood and Beautiful Day before they put them on their new website (www.3coloursred.co.uk). Errrm...yeah. Dave and Jamie (and Jamie's friend Owen) leave for America today...I can't believe they've sorted it all out and are going through with it. I wouldn't have the guts and stuff to go to another country/continent for 3 months. So yeah... So yeah...I'm home at the moment...and my new computer is SO fast!!! It's great!! I've got both the Sack Trick albums and have been listening to them ( (Music From) The Mystery Rabbits and Penguins On The Moon. They're really cool!!! Also, I've changed my 'Icon'. Woddya think?! Hello!!! Well...what have I been up to?! Not much. Since I went home last week (just a night to sort out our new computer), this whole place seems to have changed and seems to have a completely different atmosphere. Can't say what it is though. Maybe it's the end of the year, people are trying to (mentally) move back home...or maybe everyone's fine, and it's just me being weird...but Gem said the same thing...so maybe it's just the two of us ;-) Yesterday got up to watch the England match. Oh well. Was gonna get absolutely mashed/pissed/wankered/fucked (all of the above!) but I really didn't feel like it. Not because we didn't win, my body didn't feel up to it. Went to the Rosemary Branch but people were...quiet, and I was hot. So I went back to halls and had some nosh. Me and Dave went to Kate's house (down towards Lewisham) and were gonna go to G-A-Y (coz her housemate was one of the 4 finalists for Miss Gay UK) but when we were told it was £15 to get in *shakes head* no no no. I wish I had spent more time with Kate this year. She mentioned yesterday that we havn't realyl spent any time together...I thought about it and it's true. I really love Kate. Not in a 'i fancy/love her, and want to go out with her and kiss her etc' way, but just because she's a really cool person and a good friend to have. So me and Dave walked to Lewisham and had a McDonalds (coz we couldn't be bothered to cook anything). I ate too much. We got back and went to the Hobgoblin where there was Gem and Max. It was ok...but I was knackered. By about 8:30 I went to go to bed. I hate Lillie. Anyone who hasn't met her, I wish I was in your situation. She just doesn't get it. I ended being awake til 2am coz I was too tired to be up and about, but not tired enough to go to bed/sleep. Started to get pissed on vodka&coke; but gave up. There was a fire in Buckingham Palace yesterday...apparently in a dis-used toilet. Personally I think it was Queenie with lighted fag. Y'know...hiding from people coz she didn't want to be caught having a swift one...or maybe not.
