5:50 pm - I'm a cricketing superstar... in a competition where the players are 8 years younger.
|
I'm now an official member of an U11's Indoor Cricket Side... it's so cool.... fair enough, at first the parents go absolutely mental that i'm playing but after Slim (centre manager) explains that i work there and i'm not going to do anything stupid and i'm only helping out a team that hasn't won a game yet and are a player short, they understand and aren't as concerned about their childs welfare.
Some of the comments when kids find out i'm playing and not umpiring are amusing, some are terrified... best comment would probably be "wow, he's better than my dad"... in an odd sorta way, there is sorta a strange sense of popularity when 7 ten year olds are fighting over who gets to bat with me.
One of my friends broke up with her boyfriend, and all i'm hearing is cliche dawsons creek crap constantly... i'm sorry for her but you have to get over it sometime and not everyone wants to hear every single detail about him and how he made you so happy.. because obviously something was amiss otherwise, the relationship would still exist... I'm happy for being there for people, because i know how much people appreciate it... but there is a limit... i'm not here to be an emotional dumping land fill.
I've been a bit of a hermit lately mostly due to the abundance of school work piling up due to the ending of term this week. But there is one girl i've taken a strong interest in, we've been friends for ages and she pretty much knows every little detail about me, and i do about her, but i doubt there will ever be a relationship a step up between us and i'd accept that, except for the fact that i can't find one good reason not to love her on more than a platonic level.
We won on Friday night against the competition leaders which i wouldn't really call a true indicator on our teams progress, since only 5 of the 8 turned up and the 2 players who filled in, as both were superleague and one of them is an absoluete gun when it comes to bowling... the quickest i've seen for quite a while. The score ended up being 150 - 87.
I'm not looking forward to tommorrow, economics exam which is scheduled to take up most of lunch... i should study a bit.

6:22 pm - Don't dwell... no not today, we can't... it's Rex Manning Day
|
It's been an eventful week.... umm.... where to start.
My grandma passed away on friday afternoon, she'd had lung cancer. I kinda feel guilty because i've had a very noticable lack of grievence... but i can't really help that, it's not like i can just decide to start grieving. The funeral is on Wednesday and already people are deciding what they want.. how fucking wrong is that... that side of the family are fucked... apparently one of my aunties had already started taking stuff, which had specifically been left to other people... and she had the game to say that my mum was disrespectful because she didn't see my grandma before she died... my mum is the black sheep of the family, always has been and my grandma specifically told my mum that she didn't want to see her... and my mum decided to obey her wishes.
Last week was a big week in terms of assignments due, with 3 late nights in a row really knocking me about.... but i managed to get it all done which was pleasing. I recieved my mark back for my economics assignment, 93%, i was hoping for a bit higher but it'll have to do. Spent tuesday and thursday with holly at my place working on business studies and ancient history so that was enjoyable...well better than doing it by myself.
We won indoor cricket on friday night, 137 - 87, a batter and I had a collision which saw him go flying but everything was alright. My second over was eventful, took 5 for - 25, and the 5th ball of the over, the batsman had no idea and ended up smacking into his hip and pinching a nerve, so he had to be assisted off and a replacement batter took his place for the last ball of the pair, and was bowled middle stump... it was a fairly good game, even though it was only against a mediocre team... we've still only lost 2 games but we're 3rd on the ladder, but we've got a few easy games in a row so we should be comfortably into the semi finals.
Saturday at work was shite, for some reason, a lot of the juniors didn't turn up so i ended up playing a few games.... and i fucking dislocated my finger... but it wasn't that bad, i've done it enough times to know how to put it back in place with the littlist of pain as possible.... it still hurt like fuck though.
eh.... might go watch tv... i've lost interest in writing more.... i've noticed that my journal lately is full of crap... i should write more.

Stolen.... but whats new.
I love to... relish the time where I don't have assignments due.
I miss... old friendships and the simpleness of early primary school life.
I have... an assignment due tommorrow
I regret... not starting my assignments earlier, and not telling people my true thoughts.
I fear... that i will feel like a number in society, rather than an individual
I wonder... whats in store for me regarding the rest of my life.
I wish... that i could have a book with an essay response for every question ever asked.
I hope... that i achieve what i set out to do, and that i can not be so fearful of failure.
I'm annoyed by... the toggle brigade, and schoolwork.
I see myself... not getting much sleep.
I want to be... successful in all facets of my life, but only due to me putting in the effort.
I would never... swear uncontrollably at a discus at an athletics carnival. :D
I'd rather... sleeping
I will always be... myself.
I like... icecream, and the feeling of just finishing a piece of work.

I've lost my voice, got it back.. then lost it again but now i've got to make an unusually big effort to have noise come out of my mouth... this is really fucked.
Watched Empire Records last night.... "No we mustn't dwell...no not today...we can't...not on Rex Manning day!"... i love that movie.
I've got two assignments due out really soon... must get into those today... but i'm really lacking the motivation... it is a long weekend afterall.
Oh... i didn't win anything on the scratchies from the lotteries gift pack, maybe... hopefully...like really hopefully i win something from the lottery tickets... but then again... the odds are ridiculous.

| | I take mindpower to a new level. There are those who think and those who act. I am a rare combination of both. I make that which I think into that which you see. Mind over matter and then some. I am not quick tempered, but crossing my line is far from wise. I am known to be lazy, but who wouldn't be? I can move things with my mind. Don't cross me - or you might find something flying your way.

Janet is a VERY clever little girl!
A first grade teacher explains to her class that she is a QLD State of Origin fan. She asks her students to raise their hands if they are QLD State of Origin fans too.
Not really knowing what a QLD State of Origin fan was, but wanting to be liked by their teacher, their hands fly into the air. There is, however, one exception. Janet has not gone along with the crowd. The teacher asks her why she has decided to be different.
"Because I'm not a QLD State of Origin fan" she reports. "Then," asks the teacher, "what are you?" "I'm a NSW State of Origin fan" boasts the little girl.
The teacher asks Janet why she is a NSW State of Origin fan. "Well,my Dad and Mum are NSW State of Origin fans, so I'm a NSW State of Origin fan too" she responds. "That's no reason," the teacher says. "What if your mum was a moron and your dad was an idiot. What would you be then?"
Janet smiles and says, "Then I'd be a QLD State of Origin fan".
Keep smiling

Business studies should be fun for the rest of the class though... i've got the overheads they were supposed to do for work today under the supervision of a substitute teacher... might do that this arvo.
I really feel like i could smack my head repeatedly against the wall and still not feel it.... but i'm not going to try... because i might feel it.

|
Just a question that came up in conversation today... pretty much caused by an english in class exercise today - looking at peer and relationship pressures conveyed through texts... i chose Radiohead's 'Creep', here's the main section I spoke about.
I don't care if it hurts I want to have control I want a perfect body I want a perfect soul I want you to notice When I'm not around You're so fuckin' special I wish I was special
anyway, the question that came up was
Is it possible to have a crush on someone purely based on unattainability?

Some teams, no matter how good the individual players are, just suck.... and tonight was the perfect example... except that the individual players weren't good either.
Pete and I batted first, scored 60 without one six but made it up with copious amounts of suicidal running. Michael and Brent went in second, and scored 56, next was Tendulker and Brad, who scored 48, and Leah and Jarrod put on 56 for the last pair.
Final Score ---> 220
Their innings... not as good as ours
Final Score for them ---> 56

We won on Friday night, 161 - 63, Pete and I socred 68, with 45 of them by me personally.... a satisfactory win considering the team we were playing, worked out a few scams to pull wickets... should come in handy if we're in a close game in the future.
After readingthis, i've decided i want me some dutchness.
I've found the details of attaining such dutchness, but it may take a while...
Good soccer and hockey teams, and the benefits of the reports.... except for the American part being a bit of a drawback, it sounds good.

My third EMI cd arrived today... Radiohead's Amnesiac.
Apparently to be eligble for a Department of Education subsidy regarding an overseas excursion, there has to be an extra special reason for going... so thanks to those fuckers, europe has been moved from december to april so it can incorporate anzac day... so that totally fucks me...I was going to be eligble to go due to some technicality, but not anymore... at least I found that out in the afternoon... because other than that, i had a good day...
Today was fairly uneventful, with the procession of classes taking place as they ordinarily do... but it was just a generally good day, nothing major, nothing even to make the day good, it was just one of those days which had a good outlook on it all day long. It's weird there is such a positive feeling regarding today... the class was given an ridiculous assessment task for english... it's based on King Lear, involves designing a portfolio for costumes, set design, and everything involved in producing a theatrical performance.... and then create detailed scripting and production notes for a performance of the first Act.... all due in 8 weeks..... that's going to be one hell of a rush to finish that to an appropriate standard.
Indoor cricket... couldn't make it on friday night, but apparently we won, thanks to Mitch and Scott who filled in for me and someone else, it was expected they would score heavily against a mediocre team, and they did, we won by about 100... the entire comp is screwed...teams lose by 100, win by 100..... i think i've only seen 1 close game....
