12:58 pm - Holy crap
|
Since I don't have a functional PC at home, I just noticed how apalling I've been at updating. Then there's the fact that nothing thrilling has happened.
I'll summarise. - New roomie is smashing. We love her to bits and our house is a whole wonderful, happy thing of beauty.
- Spending large amounts of time knitting, beading and generally being arty & creative. Also reading and watching videos.
- Saw Chopper Read on Enmore Road when perusing shops with danidanger on Saturday.
- Watched Little Nicky. Happy now Dylan? In all fairness though, it *was* hilarious.
See? Stuff all to report. I *can* say that I am happy, relaxed, busy and all that sort of shit. So, I guess you can't ask for more than that right? Now, just *wait* for everything to fall to bits..........

11:27 am - *yawn*
|
Damn I'm tired. Yawning my head off, watery eyes trying to stay open kinda tired. Which is stupid, as I did stuff all this weekend.
Our new roomie moved in wither her enormous dog - which incidentally, is the biggest sook I have ever seen. She's MASSIVE but is a big girly swot. It's hilarious. She had Memphis well and truly cowed. After a bit of barking and snarling, she barked back at him and he nearly shat himself. She thinks it's a great game. Memphis is too scared to disagree. He leaves her alone now. Heh. It's about time someone taught the little shit a lesson. I adore him, but he's horribly antisocial. He once bit a disabled dog.......
Onwards. Saturday, Dani and I held our little stall at Glebe. It was pretty cool. We made about $60 odd each. Saturday night I was feeling rather blah from sitting in the sun all day, so I stayed in and had an early one. Sunday morning I got up and started cleaning. Shelly & the dogga arrived, so I helped her. In the arvo, Dani & I went down to the Metro to grab some bits & pieces. Not that I am pointing any fingers, but whenever Dani left an aisle, there seemed to be a rather wretched stench. Ok. I am poitning fingers - there was something very wrong with her bottom yesterday :P
Last night, chilled, watched teev and went to bed after the movie. Fascinating stuff no? No. Ah well. I don't care. I had a nice relaxing weekend. So why the hell am I still tired?!

We found our new roomie! Hurrah! I'm so excited - yesterday was shaping up to be the WORST day. Anyhoo, Shelly is moving in on the weekend - she loves booze (hell yeah!), she loves books, music, cooking, gardening and she smokes. Yay! Oh and also, she's just a really really cool person :) Yay yay yay! So, we're gonna be a 3 dog, 3 girl, 1 cat household! Not including the ubiquitous Dylan - you just never know how long he'll be there too, bless him :)
Hurrah for Fridays. And I only have a very slight hangover ;)

Ack. The Scottish guy was not quite what I was expecting. He seemed nice enough, but I think he hated my dog (like *anyone* with a heart could hate my little boy!!) and I rather gather he wanted his GF to move in in a few months and stay 2 for the price of one. Erm, no. SO not gonna happen. Then he stayed for AGES! I was yawning copiously and saying how very tired I was. He just didn't get the message!! Anyway.......
There's another possible coming over tonight - a girl called Shelley - I know whe likes doggies because she has one herself. She sounds absolutely lovely, so fingers crossed!
danidanger gets home tonight! I'm looking forward to getting my partner in crime back! Yay!
Well, back to editing 500 bajillion photos from the event yesterday for CFM magazine & the website. *sigh*

Ugh. Early morning start for our breakfast event this morning. I tell you, there's something VERY wrong about having to get out of bed when it's still dark. Getting out of bed at ALL is bad enough.....
Anyway, the event went really well. I'm just eating *lunch* (a piece of liquorice and an apple - my soup SUCKED) and farting about on the net. As you do.
There are 2 guys coming to look at the spare room tonight. Wade and Andrew (funny Scottish guy), so hopefully we'll have a new roomie. Yay.
Liquorice and apples suck.

12:38 pm - The weekend update....
|
Friday : Read my book and went to bed early like the lazy ho I am.
Saturday : Voted. Went to the Metro to pick up stuff for dinner. Bought a handbag for work (it's pretty basic but funky). Came home, cleaned entire house because Justin had moved out. House looks damn good. Daniel brought the teev and beanbags round, so the room still looks full despite the fact that we're one couch down now. Started cooking dinner. Dylan got home, Mick came over. The two of them messed up my lovely clean house, and Dylan got lectured for leaving his socks everywhere. Sorry Dylan, but they freak me out man! Kate & Col rocked up, Matt shortly after. Everyone ate themselves into a coma and the roast was pronounced a hit (hurrah!). Watched Billy Madison & a bit of Happy Gilmore. Everyone fecked off home. Grabbed Memphis & Tabitha and crashed out. (Note : Memphis ate the leftovers & a HUGE bone from the lamb. He was pissed as a newt. It was very funny. He kept the lowest of low profiles all night and slept like a log. It was one of the funniest things I've seen in ages.)
Sunday : Went on a mission with Dylan to find bacon and egg rolls. And carlovers. Went to Marrickville the 'scenic' route. [Translation : stoners shouldn't navigate]. Got breakfast, located carlovers. I read Bridget Jones's Diary while Dylan vacuumed the car. Took washing to laundromat, ate leftovers, took dog to park. (Note : Apparently Memphis is his carry bag is the funniest thing Dylan has ever seen. He just kept giggling at poor little Mems who was somewhat embarrassed). At the park we played 'Piggy in the middle' with Memphis as 'Piggy'. Ever seen a shihtzu throw a tantrum? Great times. Picked up washing, lay about house for the rest of the day. Listened to rain with alarm, thinking may have to build ark. Went to sleep.
In the midst of Friday night, danidanger's PC began making alarming noises. It subsequently snuffed it. I think it's the hard drive. So, no computer at home for the moment. *sigh* Poor old Dani is going to go mental when she finds out. Still, I think Matt's mate is going to fix it, so it might yet be ok.
Right. That's the weekend in a nutshell. Next weekend we're having a garage sale as we are poor and one roomie down at the moment. Speaking of which, if anyone knows anyone looking for a place in Sydney, let me know!!

I'm dying. I have a horrible bladder infection. PLEASE will someone kill me. Actully, never mind. I have antibiotics, cranberry juice, 4 new books and the new Placebo CD (and a Connie Francis compilation). I'm pretty well set for a weekend in. Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!
Tomorrow night I am cooking my famous lamb roast. The lamb roast with almost a whole bottle of red wine as a vital ingrediant. Yum.
Have to go whimper quietly to myself now. *sook*

"..One day President Roosevelt told me that he was asking publicly for suggestions about what the war should be called. I said at once 'The Unnecessary War'..." Sir Winston Churchill (1874 - 1965), Second World War (1948)

Over it. I would dearly love to go home and hang with the Memphis. Actually, scrap that. The Memphis is being a demon spawn shihtzu from hell. Woke me up at 3am wanting to go out and play. Then again at 5am. The little bollix.
They should have left the paint on the damn Oprey House. Feckers. Imagine how hard it must've been - climbing the damn sail in the first place - THEN writing 'NO WAR' with a freaking paint roller. It was terribly neat if you ask me. Clever pants protesters with lovely writing. The highlight of an otherwise dismally, criminally dull week.
Thankyou. That is all.

1:17 pm - Bastards cats & rain
|
So. I get out of work yesterday and it's raining so hard I can hardly see the other side of the damn street. Glorious night for sleeping, once I got home and de-soaked myself. Hung out with the lads and watched cop shows.
This morning at like 5am, Tabitha caught herself a little bird. She had it bailed up in the bathroom. I held her off and the birdie escaped under the door of the bathroom and wedged itself under the washing machine. I had visions of a small dead reeking bird jammed under there until kingdom come. Ugh. I grabbed the unrepentant Tabitha by the scruff of the neck and hauled her into my room - pausing to open the back door so the little bird could go free. Memphis & Tabitha then spent the rest of the damn morning trying to get out of my room, variously scratching and thumping, wailing and gnashing to get at the damn bird. Suffice to say they earned a few thumps for their trouble. ANYWAY, when I got up - some eejit had locked the back door - cue cat & dog tormenting bird under washing machine. Then, just when I thought all was lost and I was considering killing my pets, the bird flew up from the floor and out the door - champion! So, I saved a life today :)
Well, out into the rain I go. I need some lunch.

10:26 am - Weekend hijinks
|
Ok, so the rundown on the BIG weekend. Actually, it wasn't *that* big. I think I'm getting old.....
Friday : stayed home cos I am POOR. Read a book. The whole book. Went to sleep.
Saturday : Went over to Kate & Schluggers. Hung out, watched crap cable, helped Kate arrange books, had a blue with Schlugger, went home (with Kate) to get ready for the party.
The party crew all made our way to the party. Kate, Karen and I jumped a cab because we are alzy ho's. By the time we got there, things were well underway and we had to fight our way to the back of the yard to sit down. We got lovely and drunk (although I drank a lot, I wasn't overly drunk - but I was effed up in my very own way, thanks very much). Kate had a little chuck in the garden and Karen pronounced herself to be 'very pissed'. Hurrah. Everyone was talking loudly, parts of our group were alarming in the extreme (Danile - bailing people up and talking at them wildly) Ben (kissing my head and trying to convince everyone that he was Japanese - he's Welsh the eejit) and Eli (who tried to pick me up, and succeeded only in dumping beer down my back and in my hair), Anna (just the usual, although to her credit - I don't think she snogged anyone.........). I got home about 12.30 or so, knocked myself into oblivion with antihistamines and slept like the dead. Poor old Karen ended up with Memphis sleeping on her head. I woke at about 9.30am hearing Daniels strident nuclear attack siren voice rabbiting on about something or other. I *awear* I have never heard someone talk so much shite so LOUDLY! It transpires that ALL of our neighbours now hate us - thanks largely to Daniel and his godawful stories of schoolyard hilarity (amusing to no one but himself). Things went downhill, Daniel started talking utter gobbledygook, Anna disappeared and even Dani called it a night. I had some toast and hightailed it back to bed. I read most of yesterday, and Dylan cooked a yummy but dodgy looking dinner last night. I was in bed by 9.30pm.
So that's the readers digest version. I feel fine today. A little sniffly and tired, but otherwise in tact. Dani goes away tomorrow for 2 weeks. It's gonna be WEIRD without her there. Quiet mind, but very very weird.
Ok, back to work.

Our home is currently overrun by mad people. More than usual that is. danidanger has a friend from Brisvegas staying - Dylan, and a friend from Scotland - Anna. Dylan is hilarious. He gets increibly drunk and channels Ricki Lake. And then doesn't remember it the next day, merely looking mildly surprised and sheepish when we recount the tales. Anna is fantastic. She's from Aberdeen and a lot of the time you can barely understand her accent. I'm gettting used to it mind.
On the weekend we had a BBQ. Dylan went crackers and swept and hosed down the yard. It looked fab. Karen and I were sitting in the lounge room, reading our books and laughing at 'Can't stop the music', when all of a sudden, a small brown wet rat (my very wet dog) came hurtling into the loungroom in front of us, like a deranged rodent on a nitrus binge. Well, when the shock passed, Karen and I just shrieked and I chased the little bastard back outside - via my bed where he rolled about on my lovely clean sheets for a bit. I had to hose him down and then wash him. It really put a swift end to my peaceful Sunday.
And that's about all the exciting news I have. Apart from everyone going to The Green Light's gig, getting toasted and variously nogging a stranger (Anna) falling asleep at Q Bar and getting kicked out (Matt) and dancing like an eejit right in front of the stage at the Annandale (Dylan). Sadly, I stayed at home in bed with my cold. I *always* miss the good stuff. *sigh*
