FAQ Question
What are the different account types? When viewing a user's info page, you can see what their account type is. The type is either Free Account, Early Adopter, Paid Account, or Permanent Account.
Free Accounts are the default account type. Free Account holders have the ability to:
* Upload up to 3 user icons.
* Choose from any of the 10 system styles for their journal layout.
* Generate 1 invitation code, which is available 1 week after the journal is created.
Early Adopters are the journals created before mid-September 2000. Early Adopters have the ability to:
* Upload up to 6 user icons.
* Use the Directory.
* Create and edit custom styles and have exact control over their journal's layout.
* A personalized subdomain name (http://yourusername.livejournal.com/ in addition to http://www.livejournal.com/users/yourusername/).
* Generate a base of 15 invitation codes.
Paid Account holders have a wide range of benefits available to them. A full list of these benefits can be viewed at http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=131 .
Permanent Accounts are usually given to LiveJournal developers or users who have contributed a significant amount of time or money to the project. In addition to having full access to the Paid Account benefits with no set expiration date, Permanent Account holders have the ability to:
* Upload up to 15 usericons, rather than the 10 allowed to Paid Accounts.
* Add 30 units worth of syndicated feeds, rather than the 10 allowed to Paid Accounts
* Generate 5 invitation codes per month. Last Updated: gooner, 2003-01-09
