Atilla's Archives

We took Wodan to the vet this afternoon. Again. This time because he was constipated. Which is no wonder, because the stupid cat has been eating plastic tray-thingies which contained chickenbreasts. Wodan is a pretty big cat and he hates vets, so we have to give him a tranquilizer before bringing him in. Because he had an epileptic reaction to the first kind we used, he is now on new pills. The old ones were very heavy, he wasn't able to walk around anymore, his eyes were open, but his limbs wouldn't work anymore. With these new pills, he is able to walk around and everything, he is just a very stoned/high cat. He even looks that way, big dilated pupils and I suspect that he sees rainbows and purple stars.

My dad bought a new computer this week. We are planning to go there tomorrow help him get along with it. The last computer he owned was a very old IBM-thing with the large floppy disks and IIRC it didn't have a MB harddisk in it. When we were talking about what software we could bring to install, he told us that he really liked Lemmings, back in the old days. So early this afternoon we downloaded Lemmings (the old Lemmings, not the 3-D-Lemmings or other modern crap) and we've been playing it for hours. I almost forgot how addictive these stupid creatures with their green hair were.

Most of the time, I don't know what to write here. My life is pretty boring. I get up in the morning, go to work, come home, feed the cats, feed Ivon, watch tv, go to bed and the next morning everything starts over again. Even on weekends, there is nothing going on. Or maybe I'm just too critical about what is or isn't interesting enough to mention on this blog. I don't know.

I'm sick. Terrible cold, headache and feeling weak and tired all the time. Yuck. I spend most of today sleeping. Sniff.

Last week, at this time, we were walking in the London Dungeon. In the morning we went strolling along Portobello Road, having cappuccino and watching a woman cry because she parked her car in the wrong spot and got a wheel clamp. That was fun ;-) That night we went to dinner with Janet, Lisa and Deb and their London-friends Iain and Mary. Lots of talking, bonding through sharing vomiting stories, good food (no need for vomiting there) and laughter. After dinner we went to a pub, but it was near closingtime, so some of us didn't even get a chance to finish their pint. That was a bummer. But luckily there is always the hotelbar...

On Sunday we wanted to see the Tower, but we were scared off by the entrance fee. So we went for a stroll on Trafalgar Square, Piccadilly Circus and neighbourhood. At 6 we were supposed to meet D, J and L again, but we met them a little bit sooner, because they entered a pub where we killing time by having a drink. Indian food it was this time. And the Sunday ended a bit sooner than the nights before, because we were all pretty tired.

And on Monday, our time in London was up. We went to the airport, did some shopping and had lunch there. I spilled almost my entire cup of tea in my lap at one of the Costa Coffeeshops. The lady who cleaned my mess was very nice, she not only cleaned the mess, she also brought me a new cup of tea and wouldn't let me get up for sugar and everything.

Very quick recap: London was great!

I forgot all about what we did during the daytime on Friday. First we started off with an English Breakfast. Sort of English breakfast. We had a choice between eggs and bacon, or eggs and a sausage. Eggs either boiled, scrambled or fried. We went for the scrambled eggs with bacon. Which was way too much eggs and not enough bacon. After this, we went to the Victoria and Albert Museum. I was especially interested in the dress-court, because I was expecting to see some original regency dresses. But they were gone! The rest of the museum was pretty cool, but it was too big to see everything. When we saw enough, we planned to go to Harrod's. But first we drank a cup of tea with chocolate cake across the street. After that, we went into Harrod's, walked around a bit, and almost ran out of Harrod's again. We are definitely not Harrod's material. And at 5 we met Lisa, Janet and Deb, but I wrote about that already.
