1:02pm: <random>
my house smells good. i'm cooking a meatloaf and a chicken at the same time to conserve energy. one will be eaten tonight, the other parcelled out to make lunches.
i'm so tired. i have fibro again and it's annoying me. i could sleep all day.
i bought a new purse yesterday too. it's more of a handbag. i'm trying not to carry a purse on my shoulder because of the surgery.
i'm going to sleep.

2:41pm: the only thing better than a thrift store...
is a thrift store with a half-price sale on. i now have 4 new snug and fitting tops for a whopping $9. for all of them together. 1) creamy beige with brown trim v-neck cropped sweater with extra long sleeves in lambswool/angora with a touch of spandex 2) burnt orange button-up (little mother of pearl buttons) scoop neck with extra long sleeves in cotton/spandex knit blend 3) nubbly cream cotton ribbed knit, button-up (wooden buttons) v-neck with long sleeves 4) black with red and white traditional 'ski sweater' pattern, long sleeve, with a silver zipper up the front in merino wool blend. i love clothes. whee. i also found a skirt that i hope fits my sister. Rayj, if you need me to put a drawstring in it or anything in it, let me know. :) ooh, and last night i got an ankle length stretch velvet skirt for $15 just for wearing with my snuggly now-oversized velvet pullovers around the house. i always need cuddle clothes.

5:37pm: i'm so very sorry.
i made a new community, inspired by larathia's post. apologia is the place to go to apologize to your characters or muses when you've done a bad, bad thing. i'd love it if the writers on my list would consider participating. honestly, the apologies i've read crack me up no end and also fan the flames of my sadistic writing instincts. edit : i could pretty much post there daily...

chrisg finds me good things on the net. i'm all happy. easy to please, that's me. :) in other news... um. i'm awake and i had fattening linguine carbonara for breakfast. yeah. bacon and cheese pasta and coffee. i can hear my arteries hardening and my insulin going nuts. my bad. but it was good. and i can't believe the name Primordial Muse wasn't taken. gods, the pun is just so OBVIOUS.

9:18am: http://status.livejournal.org/
At 3:57 am EST on Thursday, February 20th, Admin lisa writes : LiveJournal is currently under a Distributed Denial of Service attack, and has been since about 5:30pm PST (1:30 AM GMT) tonight. We have been working with our upstream providers (including several major backbones) to filter traffic as quickly and effectively as possible. Due to the fact that a DDOS attack involves potentially tens of thousands of hosts all working together against a single target (in this case, us), it is extremely difficult to find one group of IP addresses to block to prevent the attack from affecting our services any further. Our upstream providers are currently filtering somewhere around 1/4 of the IPs on the internet from reaching LiveJournal. Unfortunately, these filters also block legitimate traffic from some users. When the attack has subsided we will remove the filters. We will continue to monitor and block hosts as we gather more information regarding this attack. We seriously apologize for the inconvenience, and hope you understand we are doing everything in our power to get the site back functioning as normal. Additionally, if you have any information as to who or what may be responsible for this attack, please email attack_info@livejournal.com.

7:26pm: and a few words from another man who's good with words...
"You did understand there was more to this than religious TV and the drivel they sell in those awful Christian bookstores, right? After all, Christianity didn’t sustain itself for twenty centuries by shitting Hallmark cards before a live studio audience." "I learned that it doesn’t matter in the least that I be convinced of God’s existence. Whether or not God exists is none of my business, really. What do I know of existence? I don’t even know how the VCR works. What does matter is whether or not I am faithful. I think faithful is a hell of a good word. It still has some of its original shine. It still calls us to action." http://www.reallivepreacher.com/ i am not and have no desire to be Christian, but i love this guy like crazy. he's so cool.
7:01pm: let me quote some Leonard Cohen....
...I am never coming back, I swear by the rent curtain of my virginity and the blood-thick silence between the bridgeless worlds, that I will lie to you forever, and I will never again be the cup of your need.
gods, i love that piece. ::melts::

i want to apologize a million times for any misunderstanding, i really do. i am so SORRY you felt badly. i don't want to have those kinds of misunderstandings with you. thank you for telling me. i just wanted to put this here too so you will see it as soon as possible. i don't know if you still have my phone number, it's the same as always, under my maiden name. if you want to call me, please do. i was hoping that this could be a fun time for all of us.
10:49am: hee. found via #oldwarez.
(LrdZombie) DrConway: when you dial 911 in canada, a dude on a horse shows up. (jesdynf) LrdZombie: Yeah, but there aren't a lot of emergencies a Mountie -can't- solve. (LrdZombie) jesdynf: Well what if it required him to go through a tunnel that only had 7' of clearence? He'd be fucked then. No way he's gonna get thru that on a horse. http://www.dentsinthedoors.com/archives/001340.html
10:14am: bird cage...
i used to work in the Wild Bird Clinic at the university here and i can say that my head is rather like a cage of upset birds. the noise of distressed birds is particularly contagious.
my muses are not happy at the moment. Morgan is being stoic, Eni is irate (though it's covering up for being hurt), and the boys are upset. sometimes i regret encouraging the autonomy of my muses but i think it's a fascinating adventure. it might get me labelled as crazy but that never hurt a writer's sales, did it?
9:16am: thief!
my head stole all the codiene. grrr.
8:54am: hmmm...
one person took me off of their friends list (not usually an issue, except that i know this person off LJ) and someone else deleted all her LJs and i'm worried about her. not good.
i apologize in general if my usual or codiene addled behaviour has offended anyone of late and if the person who deleted her LJs reads this, i'd love to hear from you.
8:39am: dreams
i have had weird and prophetic dreams lately. this perturbs me a great deal. i put it down to sleeping oddly and being in pain. still... so very strange.

6:42pm: %$$&@(*($#...
in an article about how cadets have been reprimanded for reporting sexual assaults, this is the ending 2 paragraphs. The academy also requires freshmen to take a course called "Street Smarts" to learn how to protect themselves in all kinds of potentially dangerous situations, including personal relationships.
"Are you the one girl going to Denver for an overnight in a hotel with five guys? Probably not a good idea. We talk a lot about those risk situations and about making smart decisions," said Maj. Kelly Phillips-Henry, the psychologist in charge of providing assistance to sexual assault victims at the academy. it's a risk to stay overnight in a hotel with five male friends? even with five men you don't know that well, classmates? are men SO incapable of containing themselves that women have to be trained to avoid "risk situations" like staying overnight with them? i can't even find words right now for how much this kind of attitude offends and frightens me.
4:48pm: less than two more days...
until my next Dr's appt. ::glee:: maybe after that i'll get to have a SHOWER! /me runs around excitedly. not that i haven't been washing, it's just that nothing is as good as a soak in a hot tub or a soothing shower. mmm. ooh, and i found out that my mum's having her kitchen redone and so we will be getting her "old" appliances probably at the end of this week. that means that when Vir gets here, i'll actually be able to cook on a stove that works and i'll have an oven that doesn't need holding shut with duct tape. very exciting, eh?
