| merry whatever you celebrate! christmas was good. we got about 10 inches of snow since last night... and NO ONE IN NORTHEASTERN OHIO saw fit to plow ANY road at ANY time. so we drove to auntie kits really early and went 35mph half the time and 60 the other half. no in between. (but on the way home we went 35mph the WHOLE TIME - the roads were worse than the way there) this is the first of two picture posts. the second post will tell a story - this post just gives an overview of the day. | my paid account expired a couple days ago. (thanks again  starla for those 6 mths!!)i don't think i'm gonna renew it... ...for a couple reasons... main one being that we have other things to spend that money on. we have the ice scraper/brush in the living room (don't ask) and i walked into the scraper end and cut my foot. i'm such a moron. yesterday was fake xmas at my parents house, as they left for vegas this morning. we got to their house while they were still at auntie kits, dropping off their dogs. so we let ourselves in and started laundry. then my parents came home, logan opened presents, we had a snack (and i had some of mom's moonshine [she made her own baileys - which was amazingly nummy]), shawn and i went to see the two towers, we had a big dinner with about 9 of us, and we came home. two towers was great. yeah, the cgi was obvious, but ya know what? i don't know what those scenes would've looked like if i ACTUALLY saw them happening, so who am i to judge if they're realistic or not? its amazing how being a parent can make movies more emotional. i almost cried a couple times. logan got a bunch of stuff (some cuuute clothes and an adorable bath robe from pottery barn kids, as well as puzzles and a big christmas bear). we got some gift certificates, some cash, and a cell phone paid through till march. dinner was nummy. (we didn't to the "traditional" christmas food - mom just made my favorite dinner ever) oh, and i got to see my aunt and cousins (including my cousin and his wife that live in germany - but will be moving to kentucky in november). overall it was nice. we need to take ginger's car back to her (we borrowed it, as my car was being fixed), but i can't do that alone and shawn's in bed napping. mood: good

| my parents are going to vegas this year for xmas. which means saturday we're going over there for fake xmas. we're dropping logan off and then heading to a 2pm showing of the two towers. email from auntie kit re: logan's first steps:OH - Our baby is growing up! Kind of makes me want to cry. He is the sweetest thing that God could create. We are sooooo lucky to have him. What a miracle.*wipes single tear* where have the past 8 1/2 mths gone? i still can't believe he walked... ...and when i went in his room this morning to give him a bottle, he was standing by himself... so he took 2 steps (so he could properly reach me), took the bottle out of my hands, and laid down and ate. (c: if you missed the inital walking post, its here. onto other topics.... the past couple days have been good. thursday logan and i went up to brunswick and hung out with my mom while goodyear put my studded snow tires on my car. friday logan and i went to the hospital to visit ginger & alex and linda. (ginger and alex b/c of the birth and linda b/c she had 15 hernias repaired on thursday. fifteen. ack!) after the hospital, logan and i went out to lunch with auntie kit and kathy. then we went up to shawn's work. fun was had by all. today we will do NOTHING and it will be fun. tomorrow we will go to auntie kit's and we (auntie kit and i) will make chocolate covered pretzels. that shall be fun, too. but lets focus on the NOW! when logan gets up, we shall practice walking. (c: *proud* oh. and btw, in case you couldn't/didn't see the alex post...there is one picture here. (c: update:: on thursday my mom gave logan an early xmas gift that my dad had bought him. it was a book - the christmas miracle of jonathan toomey. i just read it (to myself, since logan and shawn are both in bed) and it made me cry. SUCH A GOOD BOOK. anyone with kids, i suggest checking this book out...sooooo good. | well, my 8 1/2 mth old is walking! he and i were hanging out in the den tonight and he was standing there by himself, so i put my arms out, expecting him to kneel and then crawl to me, as per usual... instead, he took about 4 steps, fell (actually, he kinda fell on my belly), stood up, took 4 more steps, then leaned into me. !!!! i consider that "taking your first step." weeeeeee! i've tried like 4 or 5 times to wake shawn up to tell him, but he will NOT wake up - he just nods at me, which means he's still asleep. logan is in bed now - he went to sleep about 5 minutes after walking. (actually, after he took those steps, he leaned on me [i was kneeling], undid my belt [ya know, pulled it outta the loops and undid the buckle - lol], and then started rubbing his eyes like a tired boy.) so we now have a walker. first steps taken around 1050pm on dec. 6th. (c: i knew he'd be walking soon. i'm sooooo proud. i know shawn'll be, too, when he wakes up. wish he had been awake to see it... ...thats ok, though, b/c i know my big boy, and he'll be practicing it tomorrow. he's gonna be learning to run by xmas - lol. | ok... recently i haven't really been sharing many logan stories, but i HAVE to share todays... and then, since i'm already gonna be telling a story, i'll share one from monday. logan sleeps from 10-11ish at night to 8-9am...then he has a bottle and goes back to sleep till 10ish, when he starts this thing where he wakes up, plays, and falls back to sleep...he does that a couple times before getting up for the day (he normally gets up between 11 and 12). so this morning i didn't give him his bottle until 930am, b/c he wasn't hungry until then. i give him his bottle, to feed himself, and i leave the room. (if i stay in the room he gets excited and can't go to sleep afterwards) he ate and went to sleep. then he did his usual wake up, play, nap thing for like 3 hours. (i'm not kidding - it was 3 hours...he didn't get up till 1pm for the day) i go in at 1pm to get him (he had been awake for an hour or so, but had entertained himself, so i didn't get him) and he had UNSCREWED HIS BOTTLE LID. i had seriously screwed it on... ...and he didn't spill the formula... which means he finished his bottle, went to sleep, and woke up and took the bottle apart. LOL! i'm sorry, but i find that horribly amusing. perhaps thats b/c he's my kid. (c: thats todays story. monday's story is cute, as well... ...but perhaps its only cute to us, his parents... so monday he's sitting on my lap while i'm looking at some websites... (actually, i think i was making him laugh with mike and sully, as thats my desktop wallpaper and whenever he sees them, he laughs - its great) and the digicam was sitting over to the side (almost in front of logan). logan started touching the camera... then he put his index finger on the picture button (we have one button that takes picture [which is what i use] and one that takes video) and starts pushing it in, like he's taking a picture. (c: love my son. ( picture ) we're going to see bill, ginger, and alex later. (c: i'll ask her if i can take and post pictures of him, hopefully she won't mind. mood: amused

| logan went to bed last night at 11something. he woke up at 830, and i gave him a bottle. he went back to sleep and woke up at 10. he played for 15 minutes or so and put himself back to sleep. he woke up at 1115. he played for 15 minutes and went BACK to sleep. he's still asleep. /c: there will be NO nap for logan today. when he gets up, he's up for the day - no nap. anyway. i've been staying up late recently. last night i was watching tv at 130... ...and american gladiators came on. AMERICAN GLADIATORS! holy crap, there were more mullets on that show than i could count - it was amazing. remember the american gladiator episodes of family feud? you can still catch those episodes on game show network. i love cable. the neighbor kids are screaming on the top of their lungs for no apparent reason. the neighbors told us last april or may that they were moving that summer. YET THEY STILL LIVE HERE. 6 people (4 children and 2 adults) in a 2 bedroom apartment is NOT cool. there are times where i think that this apartment is too small for the 3 of us... i couldn't imagine adding 3 more children to the mix. babble babble babble. look ma, no pics! update:: not that it matters much, but he's up and playing (still in his crib) now... oh! and suz, last night on american gladiators there was a contestant that looked like you! lol. her name was susan something...it struck me as horribly funny. | allow me to set the scene so i'm watching baby mozart (for the THIRD TIME TODAY) with logan. he's practicing standing and trying to walk. i look over and he's standing by the table, holding onto a piece of paper, but nothing else. so i go over to the computer and get the digicam, figuring i'll just get a picture next time he does it, as he ALWAYS falls when i go to get the camera. so i get the camera, come back, and he's still standing there, playing with a piece of paper. i took the picture rather quickly, so its pretty crappy... but you get the idea... oh. and theres a picture of snow, for those of you who miss it. | last night i made dinner - a variation on this recipe. served it with some nummy corn and french bread with homemade garlic butter. then i made some nummy cinnamon rolls for dessert (which we didn't eat until this morning...) logan said "one" today. it was cute!! i can't wait till shawn gets home and logan can tell daddy his new word. now, let me explain why he said "one." he has this carter's toy, kinda like a cell phone/remote halfbreed. it has numbers on it (and a mirror?) and when you press the number, it says the name of that number. so he kept pressing 1. and the thing kept telling him "one." then he pressed it, it announced "one" and logan looked at me and went "ONE!" (c: the big man is napping now. but don't worry, as per usual, i have PICTURES! ( 3 logan pics ) in other news, less than a month till xmas. (can you see the couple wrapped presents by logan in the one pic?) crap. gotta go. shawn just called. he's gonna be coming home soon and he's bringing bubba with him... ...which means SOMEONE (namely, me) needs to look presentable... mood: okay
