Stay Sane Inside Insanity... Well, dylanmumbles isn't coming over with his wife and new puppy, cause he called my cell phone and I didn't answer it, so he thought we were not home. It was still in my pants pocket from last nite and didn't hear it... So, since kitchenwitch and I didn't have to wait for him anymore, she went to Home Depot to get primer and paint and primer to start he upstairs. Our friends who we hung out with last nite called earlier and wanted to go to the corn maze or something. Since we were waiting for Mr. Mumbles and later wanted to paint and I didn't want to do anything outdoors, we opted out. We may consider hitting a matinee this afternoon. We both wanted to see "The Ring" I started watching the Rocky Horror Picture Show since I didn't watch it last nite. Columbia can tap dance her way into my heart anything. God, how I love beautiful redheads with nice legs who can sing and dance... Hee! My Tummy is turning summersaults since breakfast. I was fine went I got up but after the wife fed me, I feel ill. I think she may me slowly poisoning me... I don't know. Are eggs supposed to taste like almonds? I will have to check into that and get back to you... Current Mood: sickCurrent Music: The Time Warp |

*sigh* Extremely uneventful weekend and it started out early. Friday afternoon was UNGODLY boring and it just got worse. I desperately wanted something to do Friday nite but had nothing. Nothing good on TV and didn't feel like putting in a movie. Tried chatting a bit in Yahoo Chat but that always fails miserably with nothing but guys trolling for cyber sex doing all the talking.. I shoulda just got drink and/or went to bed early but did nether... Saturday, I had to get up early cause the guy was coming at 9 to work on the built in bookcase upstairs. Tipper left early to go to belly dancing class and do some shopping. I did a little calking (that mention is for you, RJB5) of the cracks in the woodwork upstairs but mostly watched home improvement shows and listened to the guy hammer and saw upstairs. When she got home, we went furniture shopping. We looked at cheap shit at Target and almost bought it. We went to 5 day furniture, which had decent stuff and damn near dropped a grand on 2 pieces and ended up going up to (slightly) north MPLS and bought a used shabby chic dresser with a mirror for 50 bucks at a thrift store. It really was the best of both world. It was cheaper than the crap at Target and almost as good as the dresser at 5 day. It needs a bit of work but we saved about 400 dollars... And the evening was to be the trip to the Tunnel of Terror... That whole thing was disappointing. We tried to plan a outing with a group of friends and some people backed out because they were too scared and some because they had no money and some because they just didn't want to go out and/or have stuff to do. We chatted with our other friends who still might go and told them we really didn't want to go anymore. We agreed to meet them after we got dinner to go play board games.... oh what joy! I am not a good person to play with cause I am too competitive, and a bad loser, and over all a big baby when it comes to it.... We played Clue and Scrabble and chatted some but we ended up leaving before midnite... The wife went to bed right after we got home... So here I am.... Still bored and disappointed... One of my kitties just came for cuddle time and I am sorta watching "Wolf Girl" It is a made for TV movie with Time Curry in it. I did put in the Rocky Horror Picture Shop DVD but I will trade that Tim Curry movie for one I haven't seen before..... maybe I will watch both before I go to bed.... Current Mood: sad |

Friends Wow.. I am Mr. Popularity today! I was friended by EIGHT people in the last (I think) 24 hours. And only two were directly from the meeting them at the LJ meet Tuesday and a third I added earlier on Tuesday but talked to the first time at the meet up. A couple are from people I really didn't know and need to check out their journals. Welcome all! The last person was someone who re-added after taking a sabbatical away from LJ and has now added me again. Welcome back! I missed you! This makes me happy! And I was unfriended by someone I wasn't really close to but have chatted with a few times and have meet in person a couple times. I don't know why I was unfriended. This makes me sad.... :-( Current Mood: sad |

Happiness is... Meeting great people and chatting with friends at the LJ meet and downing a few pints. Then calling in sick to work the next day and deciding to install a additional hard drive to the wife's computer and finding about 6 Gigabytes of (backed up and forgotten) old data that you previously lost in a total hard drive crash a few months ago. Know what could make this day compete?? Lunch at Taco Bell! Current Mood: happy |

Tonight's LJ meet up... What more can I say other that I had a great time! I am not going to try to mention everybody's name cause I know I forgot some and would hate to hurt their feelings.. kitchenwitch and I brought a new face with us, dylanmumbles. It was nice to see old faces like rjb5 and snorlax and faces of people I have talked to before many times but finally met like faeryguinevere. (finally!) And is was especially nice to have a visit from, the ever so lovely, cecilthemuppet coming all the way from Notre Dame University and bringing her friend, the voluptuous, ubiquitous_me. I had a great time and think I did a good job trying NOT to talk to much and give other people a chance! *GRIN* This place was nice but kinda small and we were lucky to get a area in back where we could hog tables and not be in the way. Next time, we might not get so lucky... Current Mood: happy |

A bad day made worse.. I have a real problem at work with people not doing their job and/or not following procedure... Everybody only wants to just what they want to do and not worry about the rest of the BS that goes along with doing the job effectively. This always seems to roll to me because I am the one who has to provision orders and stuff that other people screw up and don't want to fix or do it right the first time. Today was going bad with that and it wasn't even noon and then right after noon, I get a cell phone call from a co worker who dialed me by mistake and didn't know it. This happens a lot to me because our company preprograms the phone list in our phones and I am near the top of the list since my name starts with a "B". Well any ways, I listen for a couple seconds after realizing they did not mean to call me and I hear my name. Turns out this co worker is bad mouthing me and another coworker to someone. (I found out later this was an employee who is transferring to our office) This person was telling the other not to go to me and the other guy with questions and saying that we screw up things all the time and cause more work for him and some other things. Well, I took the phone over to my boss and had him listen for a bit. Then my boss when to the caller's boss and handed the phone to him. The caller's boss later came and brought my phone back and said that wasn't right and would have a talk with him. I am sure that would do A LOT of good... I was so pissed off, I was shaking... I never took lunch so I am going home early... I think I am going to have a few beers tonite at the LJ meet up and call in sick tomorrow. Current Mood: pissed off |

I think this cat suffers from "Hero Syndrome"! Cat Starts Fire, Raises Alarm, Saves Family BERLIN (Reuters) - A cat saved its family by raising the alarm after it touched off a fire, German police said on Monday. Mimi the black-and-white cat was playing in the family kitchen in the northwest town of Luedenhausen when a misstep switched on an electric oven, which ignited papers stacked next to it. But Mimi then awoke the family by miaowing loudly and pushing heavy objects on the floor. "Mimi saved the family. There would have been a major fire had she not raised the alarm," a police spokesman said. I bet that the cat did it on purpose just to boast his kitty ego and to feel like a hero... Either that, or I have been watching way to much Law & Order! Current Mood: amused |

Take me out to the ball game... Once a month my company has a "Fun Friday" event. They usually have a theme of some sort. In the past we had a Ice Cream truck come and give out free ice cream and have had BBQs outside and stuff like that. Today was a baseball theme. You could wear baseball jerseys and caps to work. At 3:00 they served hot dogs, pop corn, peanuts, chips and nachos.... And we have a very special mystery guest. Those of you from Minnesota and have gone to a few pro baseball or football games may know him.... It was ... "Wally, The Beer Man!" Wally is a one of the most all time famous beer men in the world.... He has been working various events around the Twin Cities selling beer at ball games and Cotton Candy at the circus for over 33 years. He is so famous, he even has his own baseball card he hands out to anyone who asks. This guy has a memory like a Elephant, too. He seems to remember every person he ever sold beer to. He know a bunch of people around the office and some by name. After about 45 minutes of screwing off. I went back to my desk to check my messages and as soon as I got there, I get a call from the receptionist, saying I had a visitor. It was my wife, kitchenwitch. She had been out shopping and wanted to see if I could leave early and go look at a kitchen utility cabinet. We have been kinda looking for one as we have been shopping for bedroom furniture because we have very little cupboard space. She said this was the perfect for what we needed and the right color. So off we go to "The Find" in St. Louis Park to look at it. we check it and some other stuff out. After deciding to get it, we asked if the $350 price was firm and she ended up lowering it to $320 if we took it right away. So after a few quick measurements of it and the van and the wife's great idea to move a bench seat sideways, we loaded it up and paid for it. Shortly after we got home, her sister and her sister's best friend came over for a while. They were going out to eat and wanted to go to a club later. They talked the wife out of her old driver's license and old check card for use as a fake id. Then she worried that her sister may get killed in a car wreck and people may think it was actually her. heh... I guess I would have been more concerned that my SISTER was killed... After they left we went to TGI Friday's and it was a long wait so we went to Fuddruckers and gorged on 1/2 pieces of charred flesh on a bun. As we were leaving I was thinking about some other stuff and started to get moody all the wife could do was laugh at me and make fun of me... :-( Bad Tipper! No sex for you!
