Feedback & Feedforward |

A book is a wonderful thing. It's a highly portable, high-resolution, user-friendly device with infinite battery life. But it can also be a bit, well, inert. | |
| Feedback | Some parts of any book about the Net will date pretty quickly. For that reason I've always intended to include a website as part of the package, so that readers can tell me what they think, complain about broken links, point out errors and generally chew the fat. If you have something you'd like me to hear, please send me an e-mail. You'll always get a reply. And if I think your message might be of interest to other readers, I'll post it on the site -- but without revealing your identity unless you absolutely insist. There have been some reviews of the book. Click here if you'd like to see summaries of, and links to, a few of them.

Feedforward | This is where I pass on news about relevant new sites, fixes for broken links (if they exist), updates on the story, stuff I wanted to put in the book but couldn't get past my publisher/editor/agent, and other things you might be interested in. Click here to get to these nuggets. Latest update: 31 December 2000 An Interview I did with Tim Berners-Lee If you're a glutton for punishment (and have RealPlayer), here's a recording of my presentation to the Internet Political Economy Forum meeting in Seattle in September 1999. And here's a sombre lecture on "The End of Innocence" in relation to the Net. BBC Online did a Report on the book's publication including an extended interview (needs RealAudio player) The book was short-listed for the 2000 Aventis Prize -- the major UK literary award for science writing. See the Press Release for details. Full disclosure demands that I reveal that I did not win the prize, though I came away with a nice cheque. Sigh. |
