...but the more important part of today was helping my Mom in her being a Whole New Person.
My job? Her new wardrobe.
She's never really been one for clothes. Something to do with being more concerned with bringing up her children, little things like that.
Anyway, I really had to push her with certain things. She's very unsure of New Clothes, happy to stay in her sartorial rut, if you will.
She's puttin on a fashion show or sorts for my Father at the moment. I just helped her with a few bits of fiddly jewelry we got, and she looked stunning. She's very short (about 4'11") but for the first time today I saw her looking/standing/feeling tall.
My Dad, the arse that he is, gave some very non-plus reactions. Bastard.
But hooray for my Mother! Because she's ace.

What a tangled web the Buffy game weaves!
First it was out Oct 24th.
Then Nov 7th.
Then Oct 24th again.
Then I couldnt find it early anywhere.
Then I heard the news it was cancelled.
Then it turns out it isnt cancelled.
Some shops in the UK physically have it!
But today I checked WHSmiths, Woolies, gamestop, Game AND Virgin Megastores, with no luck!
Bugger.

Hooray!
I love that word. Mostly because I use it when Good Things Happen (and we all know how rare that is for me)
But, back on track, i''m hooray-ing because i've found another temp agency that'll have lil old no experience me! Their parting words were "we're really busy at the moment so i'm sure we'll find you something"
Hooray!
Also the Buffy game, for the ever lovely Gamecube is out soon! Maybe Tomorrow! Maybe Friday!
Hooray!
(but FZero, FF Tactics, Viewtiful Joe and Mario Kart are also out soon. I can cant afford them though. Boooo)

SonicTH - Green Hill Zone |

I dont know why, but I feel like my last couple of LJ entries are really badly written, and need a bit of fleshing out... This, I shall do.
Also, for reasons known only by myself and my television I've decided to pick up the slack with my writing, sure those "Bitches In britches" songs are fun, but I need to get back on that screenplay trail. I did promise myself...
I love Sonic The Hedgehog (one, as in MegaDrive/Genesis) music so very very musch. I found some MP3s so i'm rather excited.
I'd forgotten how exciting Green Hill Zone is! DooDooDooDooDooDooDoo (dunelernoo) Etc.
But Scrap Brain Zone is still my favourite. Especially the Sonic Advance remix.
I just realised how "gone to shit" my rooms are, and I have a few things ToDo that are, uhm, a little too important. Oops.
Did I mention that i'm going to make a pumpkin pie? Well I am. Just because. And there will be no yam sham (as it doesnt involve yams, you see...)

OK, I -was- going to gush about Kill Bill, but instead i'll just say...
It's everything I love about cinema, and more. There are millions of bits that have already become part of my vocabulary, it's a real FanBoy movie.
There's one particular sound effect in the film that I want recorded so that I can carry it around in my pocket...
I now love Lucy Lui even more. Which I did'nt think was possible. So that's fun!
Also, Go Go Yubari is now flying high up my list of best screen villains. And she's somehow ended up on my desktop. Rarrr.

Argh.
I saw Kill Bill this morning (well, technically it started in the afternoon) and I -would- be raving out it behind a spoiler warning cut-tag right now, except my Dad (as usual) managed to completely ruin my high, I havent eaten all day and I couldnt even buy my way back into happiness (through inabilty, not through some moral realisation that I cant (as I can do so, and do so as often as possible))
So perhaps later, or tomorrow, when I no longer feel the need to destroy people I can get on with my happy funtime praising of a very good film.

Peaches - Fuck The Pain Away/Teaches Of Peaches |
] |
As predicted, a fairly uneventful weekend -in- Wales and an annoyingly eventful return.
My brother's was the same old same old, except i'm now as tall as him, which is odd as i'm 5'11" and he's 6'2".....(time to find a measuring stick)
I managed to use some dull as hell night fishing time to take some lovely lightform pictures (you know, no flash and move the camera so you draw patterns with lights)
So coming back, for the first time in 7 years of narrow lanes we had a car/sheep interface. They did seemingly appear out of nowhere, walking down the middle of the road, if it werent for the (admittedly small) dent on the car i'd have said they were SpookyGhostSheep. My dad being the paranoid guy that he is ran around nearly killing himself trying to do "the right thing"...
One such thing (phoning the police) started off some guy behind us (well, phone+petrol station = boom) and my Mom did what she does best and hobbled out to WAR. Except they all got on and laalaaLifeStoryinsurancewitnessblah.
Oh! Oh! I forgot about the fact that whilst everyone else was all "ARGHSWERVEOOHHFFF" I (who was looking out of the front talking and so saw just as much) sat there in complete nonchalentness.
At first I though how massively cool that was, i'm Mr Unfased but then I figured it's probably more of a bad DeadInside thing.
Either way I should so be a ninja...

In an unexpected move (people decided not to tell me at all) I have to go away for the weekend. Down to deepest darkest Pembrokeshire to visit my Brother (well, I havent seen him for over a year..)
This doesnt put me in the best of moods but, meh, i'll struggle through.
My interview on Wednesday was amazingly short. About 15 minutes in all. I dont want to jinx it so i'll only post details if I get it (which I wont, because I never do, oh woah is me, et cetera)

I just woke up to the (non) sound of my Mother rushing into my bedroom to pass my the telephone. Being the genius that I am I deduced that I Had A Phone Call. (Although I wonder how this woke me up. SpookyKarmaFateEtc. or maybe I have Ninja senses all of a sudden.)
However >panic< I had just woken up.
I took 3 seconds to compose myself and then put on the best performance of an awake person the world has ever seen. (the sigh when I hung up may also have been rather monumental) I deserve an oscar.
So, interview tomorrow at 3. Bear in mind that I only send off my application letter yesterday afternoon. I think it's because it's a builders warehouse, I guess the just want PeOpLe. (note: warehouse. signfies desperation on my part to be stuck working with Potentialy Evil Men)

It's October already!? That makes me feel really rather queasy..
Since I realised how I dont actually have any money (especially not after buying a Q Madonna edition that was very ace but also ?6) I have realised that i'll just have to choose one (ONE) film out of the (previously mentioned) seven that I HAVE to see on the big screen.
That'll be Kill Bill, then.
Oh! And Pumpkin pie!! I have much desire to make one. (Damn you, Delia Smith! Though, I might buy your "How To Cook" book)
My university forms will -definetly- be sorted now, seeing as i've gotten my referee sorted out. Yarrrrr.
I'm playing Final Fantasy 8 again. I dont really like it but I cant afford to buy the (much cooler looking) 7.
And yes, still no job.

The Aces-As-Ace CD burning job is fucking forever away. Couldnt even find it. I shall have to cancel my interview.
In Other News... Me and Caz have formed a band. We are so stylistic that we dont even need to make any music, we'll just shout our songs and vbe taking the piss/glam/discobabies.
At the very least we'll have a website and fabuous disco bangles.
