severely lacking in sleep I think I got maybe 5 hours last night. I try I really do. but my brain won't shut down into sleep mode. I lie there for hours tossing and turning. also had a really bad earache last night that im a bit worried about. I can't afford to get sick right now and I'm also losing my voice.
I can't wait to sleep in my new DARK room with no damn STREETLIGHT outside the window and LOUD CARS rushing past. oh how heavenly it will be.
the past few days have been cool for catching up with a few people briefly although im stressing about the move and trying to get everything done (7 days till moving day!!!) I've been distracted by the internet as usual and a few friends who i havent seen in ages have contacted me online! yay for Jordie who has been away for ages and is now going to be starting his own business he got a ferrari and is gonna take me for a ride in it too. yumm.
talked to goner last night. old rave buddy. he was in atlanta for way too long and is now back in washington. wants me to come kick it over there with him. don't know if thats such a great idea but I will consider it. it was fun to talk to him on msn anyways. cam chats are neat! can't believe I never did this before.
ack getting busy now. ciao!

9:29 am - new shift
|
so I should know what my shift for the next 3 months or more will be by the end of today I guess whatever happens happens and I will make the best of it I dont want to start work at 5am or work till 8pm because I like to bike to and from work.. and because I like to have a life outside of work and I have some classes (outside of school) that I want to take I also don't want to work Saturday because it's my Sabbath and even if I'm not usually at Synagogue I'm still honoring the sabbath in my own way, and really really don't want to work on it. so yeah.. I am anxiously awaiting the announcement of the new shifts
im also in need of tea and water and breakfast .. probably wont happen till 11:30 though meh
I forgot to eat last night. I had lunch at 12:00 before I went to work and then ate a banana at about 9 or 10 pm. I still haven't eaten anything since
ooh yay the last girl who needs to put her shift bid in just arrived and is about to look at the choices we were waiting for her shouldnt be long now :)

well yesterday and today have been pretty productive I requested sept 30th and oct 1st off as vacation pay days so I can move I hope thats ok and I have enough vacation pay banked right now to do that I am definately not going to San Francisco which means I need to pay $75 bucks to reschedule my flight. meh.
I paid off my cell bill and my minimum visa payment so now I just have to pay Shaw and BC Hydro. I called my doctor and got him to fax a prescription over to the drugstore. It's a triplicate so I don't have to deal with that again for months. yay. He was going out of town for a week so it's a good thing I did it when I did. today i picked that up and also got a cd wallet so now i dont have any jewel cases which is SO much better for the move ive decided on more things i will be getting rid of and trying to sell

1:21 pm - personal theme songs
|
I used to watch Ally MacBeal in the older days.. and I remember the personal theme song thing. anyone else remember this? What is your personal theme song? I think when I get stressed out and need to feel better I tend to hear the same one playing in my head a lot
its an old motown song that I love called ooh child by the 5 stairsteps I think its in the soundtrack for both boyz in the hood and Jackie Brown
today its playing ... heres the lyrics if anyone needs some brightening in their day :)
Ooh-oo child Things are gonna get easier Ooh-oo child Things'll get brighter Ooh-oo child Things are gonna get easier Ooh-oo child Things'll get brighter Some day, yeah We'll get it together and we'll get it all done Some day When your head is much lighter Some day, yeah We'll walk in the rays of a beautiful sun Some day When the world is much brighter
current mood: banana smoothy w/coconut gelss

10:52 am - update..
|
wow I can't believe it's thursday and I haven't even written about my weekend let alone my week
Friday night I went to dinner in Richmond at Ruth Anthony and Rois new house. they are renting it for a year and then will buy one hopefully closer to us in Vancouver. Ruth is my stepads sister and anthony her husband and Roi their son. he is 2 years old. They moved here from Israel this summer and I'm so happy they are here and not there. YAY! Also my cousin from san francisco and her baby and husband were there. she was the one who got knocked out over the head by an intruder when she was 9 months pregnant and gave birth to her baby while in a coma. horrible story. both are doing quite well though! it's a miracle really. my brother and i left there around 10 and hung out for a bit at the folks house and then i went home and slept.
saturday was time to get ready for the listening room! have a look at the pics section http://www.listeningroom.ca David and I went downtown and split up and postered and flyered and went to his house to unload sound equipment, beer etc saturday night was lovely. sold out with over 350 people! He really did an amazing job and it was fun hanging out with people I miss and don't get to see enough of. the music was most excellent. mm techno how I love thee. the lasers don't impress me all that much as i've never been that into them. i liked the art though.
Sunday I slept in and then in the afternoon I walked through false creek and along the seawall to granville island. had a really nice time. I love peace and solitude and nature. http://public.fotki.com/aura/sunday_walk/ I don't think this weekend will be as relaxing
this week ive been working on getting rid of more stuff John picked me up and we came to work together today so I was able to bring in a big pile of magazines for the lunch room. yay, clutter be gone! *waves her wand* tonight him and I are going to see the new bill murray movie after work at 5th avenue my brother works there so maybe i will see him
then home to organize more crap and clean out the furniture i won't be keeping i will be able to destress a bit once I find out my new work schedule and know that I can get off the days i need for moving
well this is a long entry.. thanks to those who actually read it

I saw a personalized license plate on the way to work "MEH" I smiled that pretty much sums up the last week or so shift bid coming up and I'm edgy and nervous about it I hate having to switch shifts every 3 months and wondering if I will get what I want.. which isnt even what I want. its just the lesser of all the evils presented to me
more people coming to look at my place today ... which reminds me of all the packing I need to do and elimination of stuff got a box of videos I don't want to take to the new place and also some magazines working on cds and tapes tonight and hopefully more books and maybe clothes

9:43 am - what a morning!
|
so I had a bunch of really small change.. nickels dimes and pennies, and I decided today (day before payday) I would use them for the bus after 38 cents the driver told me not to worry about it and just sit down.. ok! I had to go back up and sheepishly ask for a transfer
on the bus and when I got off some cute hippy guy kept looking at me and smiling I wasn't too responsive. I suck. Is it possible I am somewhat shy in my old age? This is two days in a row I ignored an awesome guy I should have talked to, and yesterday I knew the guy. meh
Get to work just on time and the elevator alarm light is on and no elevators are coming when we push. I was going to take the stairs but I don't have my access card panic! someone else decided to take the stairs to another floor so I followed behind him into the stairwell walked up to my floor and realized I can't get into the office without my access card thank goodness for cell phones! I called someone inside and the door was opened for me phew! so yeah here I am with mild drama already and its only 10 am wonder what this day will have in store for me

yay! so once I found out what my shift is gonna be I can actually figure out what classes (non credit) I'm going to take this semester I don't need to go back to my current college program because I already have all the courses they are offering this semester so I'm gonna work on some other stuff mainly aromatherapy, sewing, and perhaps japanese if time and money allow it
the japanese is going to be helpful for after I get my teaching english as a foreign language to children certificate, so I can go do that In Japan. and the aromatherapy is just something I've always been into. reminder. talk to carla about applying part time before christmas at escents aromatherapy!
so theres a few classes I am interested in taking I just need to see how schedule and money works out
*crosses fingers*
current mood: excited

8:05 pm - in other news
|
my mom is going to be teaching TESL (teachers of english as a second language) this semester shes been teacher volunteers and teachers to teach ESL for like 20 years and before that was en ESL teacher and otehr languages. shes an awesome teacher today I was telling her Courtney might take the ESL trainers program (Kat my mom could be your teacher if you were starting that program this week at my school!) I said i always wanted to but I don't want to teach adults I'm a kids teacher thats what i do.. so anyways they now have a TOEFL for young learners. its for 8 to 16 year olds and its only a 4 week course I'm most likely going to take it when I'm finishde my ECE in June it starts in late july sweeetness this will definately help me with working in other countries especially since I already had a short stint as an english teacher in Israel
the lubavitcher rebbe was such a wise, beautiful soul sometimes I wonder if he was indeed our saviour I'm reading "bringing heaven down to earth" again its a book of his quotes and its just magical I'm glad I held onto it all these years because it means so much more to me now than it used to
