Beautifully filmed, beautifully told story about a journalist and his
translator covering the civil war in Cambodia. Brutally honest and
disturbing, and emotionally powerful at the same time. It is a story
about
friendship and social justice, taking a rather liberal view towards the
American involvement in the situation. Won several well deserved academy
awards, especially for Dr. Haing S. Ngor as the translator, although
Waterston delivers a superb performance as well. Definitely worth
watching
for anyone interested in historical films.
