so I've recently started a project I'm gonna fondly call tres goals. lately I've felt like my camera is being neglected and my site not updated. so I've taken it upon myself to set three goals (three random words) throughout the day I try to visually interpret whatever the three goals are.
I started a couple days ago. ( shall we play catch up? )
the goals I've set for myself today are: 1. quiet 2. air 3. past
if anyone else wants to participate they're more than welcome to (:

I had a most interesting day today. It all began as a lazy Saturday, waking up at 7:30 and sitting around. A trip to IHOP then Walmart finished before 11:00. Then I had to put some time in with the TV. Some internet time, the NY Times Arts section and other such news. About 3:00 my roomates went out on a date afternoon before she had to go to rehearsals. I watched an episode of That 70's show. In a post 70's show fit of boredom, I grabbed up my camera and strolled out to the parking lot with motorcycle helmet in hand determined to make the best of a 75 degree day in february. Not to bad. I stopped off at some industrial place which was interesting and across the street from the water treatment plant. There were some really beautiful concrete structures there. Just down the street was a welding gas supply store of some kind. Plenty of good photography material there. On I went cruising about three blocks north of downtown. At this point I had put the helmet in my back pack. So here I am rolling along, with my hair in the wind, camera over my shoulder and avaitor sunglasses on, trying my dammnedst to combine a beetnic and top gun attitude when I saw this starkly yellow building that said, simply City. Instantly I was intrigued. A tucked over on my bike and glided right in to the dirty sandbox of a parking lot adjacent. The alley way I found my self in was quite the antagonist to the yellow building called City. Lush, diverse, a jungle tunnel, an oaisis from the city. After snapping a few pics of the front of the building I got back on my bike to leave when I took a last glance up the alley. My eye was attracted to a window on the side of the building that had a huge steel spider and web covering it. On closer inspection I found a giant Chuck Close print hanging one the wall behind the steel web. While walking closer, I said to my self, this could be one of those things that ends up really cool, or in a mugging. Determined not to be a pussy that would regret passing up a perfectly good opportunity to get mugged I proceded. After snooping around for a while I looked closer in a half way open garage door. Inside I saw the most beautiful sculptures lined up in various stages of completeion. All of which looked very familar. After some good old fasioned garage door beating this skinny hippy looking dude with brown teeth and long grey hair came walking up asking if he could help me. After a few minutes I made friends with Scott something-or-other. and he let me in. He told me that he worked for John Chamberlain, which also sounded familar, and that these were his sculptures. As it turns out, he has just had an opening in New York, the review of which I read this morning in the Times. Amazing, his studio is in Sarasota, and somehow I just managed to stumble on it. After an extensive tour of the shop, which was amazing. I bid Scott adeau and asked him if they ever needed any help around there. He said it was slow now but you never know, and to drop back by after my circus job ran out. This guy ran with Pollock and Rauchenberg back in the day. Fueled by inspiration I went out to take more pictures. A few sleeping homless guys and a run down gas stations later. I stopped off for a beer and a smoke at the first bar I saw. I got kicked out. (For having a back pack, but it could have been for something cooler.) Which moved me down to a dive tavern. On the sign it says, "Tavern Beer and Pool" After being treated rudly so recently I was in a perfect dive bar mood. I bought a beer talked to some dude about this womans boobs, which were most definately fake, and grabbed a seat to watch the monster truck rally on a thirteen inch tv while enjoying my Bud. It was at this table that I met a travelling piano and organ salseman. He looked very lonely, but happy. He had a genuine joy for the day.
( A small time adventure )
