Hello!
I've heard it and thought it a lot. "Toledo sucks!"
We've heard it all in the news. Endless talk about things like the "brain drain", the Marina District, Southwyck/Mall at Fallen Timbers/other new shopping centers, COSI, the art museum, fixing the roads, Jeep, bringing high tech to the area, education, and all that. But nobody actually gets off their butt and does anything more than complain.
We've all heard the complaints that tuition is too high, that Columbus doesn't care about this area, that there's no night life in the area..
Nothing ever seems to change, though. The area governments and businesses seem to be all talk and no do, and what they do is for their own good, not the good of the area.
I'm looking to make a website and a group that wil come up with some real ideas and take some action to make them happen. A group that will work on lighting a fire under the area businesses and governments to stop talking and start doing. I want to make a website and a group that will have some serious discussion on what's wrong with the area and what the priorities need to be, from the standpoint of the people that are directly affected by the problems affecting Northwest Ohio.
This is open for everyone in the Northwest Ohio area. If you want your job to stay here, if you want jobs to come here so you can work where you live, if you are tired of nothing being done, I ask you to consider getting involved.
I have bought a domain name, ImproveNorthwestOhio.org and am working on putting up a website where you can read, submit, and discuss news stories, opinions, and rumors of what's going on in the area.
If you have even the smallest gripe about the area, I want to call attention to it and encourage discussions on solving it. Then we can get the appropriate officials to take some action.

I'm new to the community (obviously). But hi. I'm Brittany, and I don't really live in Toledo. I'm moreso out in the country between BG and Toledo.
I'm posting here to find out if there's any good concerts in the summer coming to Toledo. There's a shitload of fests coming to Columbus and such, anyone good coming farther north?
I checked out headliner's, and nothing really trips my trigger. There's some local band showcases I'll check out, but aside from that there's no one special.
Help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
