look at this beautiful girl I love her so much

This was directly after I had gotten off the phone with her. Her friend suprised her and took a picture so she could see how happy she was. She is so beautiful to me.

    Robert Palmer
Robert Palmer died of a heart attack. Death loves 54 year old men apparently, because that now makes my dad and John Ritter from the weekend before last, and now mister "simply irresistible" this weekend.

    posters can touch your face...
It happens to me every once in a while, that I'll get into these moods. Moods where I examine like a 2-3 week time spans and try to analyze the contents and give meaning to it. It's my life and I try to understand what it is I'm doing. I guess I have some kind of a broad picture as to how I go about things, but my temperament and state of mind can affect so much. I intend on accomplishing so much and most times I can get to it. And over half the time it's been undertaken a different way then I imagined. I think the most complex thing about who I am runs with drive. And it’s hard to find it when you get thrown into a different feeling every day…..or every hour for that matter. Looking and aiming for motivation sometimes gets me nowhere but wasted time. How many ways can you motivate yourself? I’ve definitely found more than a few. I don’t know….but sometimes I just get tired, and say fuck it. Then two hours later I’m on a one-way track to brilliance. I have inspiration….but how long can I keep it? I’m not sure, nor am I sure that anyone else knows…..but what I do know is that the walls in my room suck for hanging posters. Why the fuck would you build walls that can’t be nailed into or taped to? And what really sucks is when your sleeping at night and the poster right above you falls on you and scares you.

The Art of Living by Sharon Lebell
    THE POWER OF HABIT

Every habit and faculty is preserved and increased by its corresponding actions: The habit of walking makes us better walkers, regular running makes us better runners. It is the same regarding matters of the soul. Whenever you are angry, you increase your anger; you have increased a habit and added fuel to a fire.
If you don't want an angry temper, then don't feed the habit. Give it nothing to help its increase. Be quiet at first and reckon the days in which you have not been angry. "I used to be angry every day; now every otherday; then every third and fourth day." As time goes on, the habit is first weakened and is then eventually overridden by a wiser response.

    The Conditions of Love
The calculation – the picturing of the perfect partner – presupposes that we can enter a relationship with a clear-sighted and complete understanding of our needs and capacities. This is to see a relationship as a kind of garment, which merely goes on top of, and does not in any way change, the inner person.

A relationship does not start the day two people meet; it starts in the childhood of each partner. For it is long before they meet that the template of their relationship is established. We learn to love as children. Or, more accurately, we learn a style of relating which governs our adult behavior when it comes to love. It also governs it without us noticing it. It’s unconscious.

Our individual imaginative characters – the kinds of linkage we are sensitive to, our idiosyncrasies of sensitivity and response – entail that different people will be able to see more or less in any particular work of art. And we tend to like the ones we see the most in. We’re not inventing their charms we just happen to be responsive to them. Almost all loves seem to share this feature.

Love alone can’t make another adult intelligent, generous, courageous, persistent and sociable – unless they are very close to possessing these qualities in the first place. Much of the time we will be unable to make another person happy, because that person lacks the essential characteristics which makes their own happiness possible.

    cover
If anyone is a fan of Juliana Hatfield, you should check out our cover of her song "Hotels" for the second installment of the Juliana/Blake Babies tribute double-disc slated for release fall of 2003. http://beautysconfusion.net/beautysconfusion-hotels.mp3

I miss the sound of laughter
    The children down the street
I may not find the answer
    It's only memories

    Hotels, hotels
Welcome me when I need a home
    Hotels, hotels

    Days are getting shorter
And the night wind in the trees
And the soft skin on your shoulder
And the way you wanted me

    Hotels, hotels
Welcome me when I need a home
    Hotels, hotels

Think of me when I'm leaving

Will you give this to my mother?
Once again it's time to leave
    There's no ever after
    There's only in between

    Hotels, hotels
Welcome me when I need a home
    Hotels, hotels, hotels
Welcome me when I need a home

    Hotels.

If you're bored ...and want to see me being retarded to the max....check out a short film that my friend Skip and I did. It's kind of the first thing we've done that we were able to edit and stuff on the computer.

    working again
I never knew how long a week could be. When you're waiting for something though it makes it harder I guess. My boss is leaving early today to go fishing and needs me to close. I've never closed before, but apparently all I have to do is shut down the computer and go home. I'm not going to do a thing for the 3 hours that I'll have when he leaves. Kentucky is a lucky place. :( I have a new guitar. :) I walked out on the matrix 2 lastnight :( .......wait I mean :)

I like advice with a touch of poeticness....
The best advice I can give is to have your mind open as well as your eyes, understand as well as listen, and passed the storybook romance phase, when comfort settles in, you both will be two people holding mirrors towards one another. It's kind of like stepping outside of yourself to analyze your actions, your words, whatever, as long as you take it as a learning experience. Living will do you better than any book on a shelf.
